I felt like a little kid who had his ice cream cone smacked out of his hands when I went through the album and found out this solo wasn't any where to be found.
To this day...I AM PROPER GUTTED THAT THIS SOLO IS NOT PART OF THE ALBUM!!!!This song had the potential to be the "Geocentric confusion" of this album. Fuck me man. They actually dropped the ball. In other news I'm gonna be a dad
We really need a version of geocentric confusion with Mr. Lessard. The Livestream performance of that song hearing him in the ending feels like an existential crisis lol
Will always be one of those bands that will never have any other like them. Too unique and their sound is entirely their own. Exoplanet to this, nothing falls short of incredible.
In retrospect 5 years later, Clairvoyant is still obviously incredible. Also in retrospect 5 years later, Godspeed could've been an S-Tier track on the album if they would've included the craziness that was heard here. I feel like Godspeed is the only track on the album besides The Center (studio-wise - because the live version was transcendental) that didn't really click correctly. Felt unfinished. That being said, 'unfinished' by these guys is still leagues above the majority of their contemporaries. I'm just being a bitch because I wanted to slam some PBR's and cry to this tapping extravaganza.
This song is called Godspeed.... They took out the best part of the solo where he shreds from 2:08 on....... what I dont understand is why they would let us specifically hear that part to get us hyped but then end up taking it off the song? I'm kinda pissed tbh
Yeah I just heard the song today. I was like oh shit this is from the update...and then it ended so fast haha. I was like where's the rest of the solo with the double bass
I think this part is actually from a different song (where it also didn't make the cut). It doesn't fit with Godspeed other than the first part, and I'm pretty sure that there's also a similar part in Clairvoyant, so I'm wondering if it wasn't supposed to be in a different song, or this was a really early version of Godspeed that was heavier/more riff based than the 50/50 it ended up being.
I love such studio report/update stuff. And it's even more amazing when it's such an awesome band like TC. And even more awesome when you hear such amazing music snips in the video!
Please make a DVD guys. Please. Your band is apart of my soul. Exoplanet changed how I viewed heavy music. Hell, it changed how I viewed all music. I have The Flaming Lips DVD, Pavement DVD, Death Cab for Cutie DVD, and a Radiohead DVD, and I'd love to add yours to that collection. Can't wait for the new album. I was at the Apparition EP release and ever since I've been cheering you guys on. Thank you for making my hometown look good and for being one of the only progressive bands to ever come out of it. Love you guys. Nothing you do will ever disappoint me.
Evan Sammons was from Last Chance to Reason as well (Mike Lessard's previous (?) band). Nice to see him contributing here even though LCTR has been pushed aside temporarily.
Bad news guys, that amazing and divine riff of 2:16 it doesn't have been included in no one song of Clairvoyant. I got the leaked album and that riff/solo doesn't exists. BTW, my favorite one is Monochrome Passive, Return To Earth and Godspeed. (The last one is the song of the 1:36)
Ya I was pretty sad to discover that they cut a lot of that riff. I'm willing to bet we got a taste of early production. I don't know why they would shorten such an epic part, but I'm sure they have their reasons. Maybe they'll release an extended version some day.
It felt like I've been waiting for a year for this album to drop when I heard that solo and then I finally got the album and godspeed begins playing and I waited. And waited. I'm sorry if any of you get hurt when I say this but the fact that solo isn't there is just so sad. It sounds beautiful and I wished it was there somewhere in the album. A damn shame. But as always, some real good music by one of my favorite bands out there
Just spent about 20 minutes trying to find this shit on the record...did they fucking scrap it? Love the record now that it finally released...but damn. Why the fuck would they do that?
For all of you that keep coming back to this video to listen to 1:37 (I know I do): I recreated it on my channel if you want to check it out! ruclips.net/video/LcZoyLS0TRE/видео.html
Legitimate question for you guys as a band. Why did you remove the last clip from the record? I'm gonna buy it anyway because I love you guys but why cut that piece out?
idk why people are upset. The section in the final cut of Godspeed fits way better in my opinion. This sounded great before the album came out because i was so hyped but know it doesnt sound fitting at all. It honestly just sounds over the top and drawn out for the sake of it.
josuegmonroy The first riff on 1:36 is from Godspeed, listen to it clearly. But unfortunately, that epic riff of the end, it doesn't came with any song of the album. I already listened this album at least five times and no, it doesn't exists.
To add a solo in Godspeed would've completely thrown off the groove/flow of that song. The subtle lead guitar throughout this song did not need a "climax" or solo to fade out.
You know what, fuck it. Just listened through Clairvoyant from beginning to end, patiently waiting for this section to completely bulldoze me, and then it just never happened. Left with a desperately dry mouth. It's such a massive pity, I WANTED to love it, but it's simply not as challenging or intriguing as your previous works. I don't believe I will listen to the album more than two times.
Solo was wonderful but out of place imo. Coming from a long time The Contortionist fan. I felt like it was way to over the top. While I love Exo and Intrinsic with Causality being one of my favorite tracks of all time. I'm glad to have seen them go In a very different direction.
Yeah I'm a little sad the solo and silly-core drum syncopations didn't make it, but I totally understand why they didnt keep it in respect to the final product. It would've been the only thing that sounded like that on the album. I also understand the disappointment and feel like we got trolled a little bit, considering that out of context, it definitely sounds like something The Contortionist *could* write good music around if they wanted to. Seeing as how almost that entire clip was cut out of the final product, idk why they would include it as an 'update'. Still a cool little snippet nonetheless, glad I also got to hear what could've been. Maybe it's something to keep around for later on?
Completely respect their decision to present a more subdued and contemplative version of that track on album, but also agreed with you that if those stems/tracks still exist they should hang on to them for some special Easter egg bonus down the line. I don’t find it cheesy and it rips so hard outside of album context. The soaring guitars are tear jerking tbh and the escalation in the drum part is earned and feels justified
Can't believe you cut off that solo in Godspeed. Its fucking amazing!
Its been over 9 months and I'm still dreaming about this different version of Godspeed. Whats on the album is incredible, but this? This is insane.
I feel you man
I really hope we someday get a Godspeed (Reimagined) kinda thing with this solo
When you want this album to hit so bad that you listen to this studio update again and again and again... :/
I wish they would just drop the album already.
they just dropped the singles within the past month, quit bitchin'
Lol
and do you know how many times i have listened to the releases?
That bit from 1:34 is so worth the return viewings
Still coming to watch this video just for that solo.
Same. And it's 2024.
@@Yik35Same hereeeee. I'm waiting that someday they release this on a song or something
1:56 when the drugs are so good you become Stephen Hawking
I felt like a little kid who had his ice cream cone smacked out of his hands when I went through the album and found out this solo wasn't any where to be found.
Can we start a petition to get a full version? I'm angry
My dumbass thought the album was coming out the 15th....... stayed up all night to realize it's next month.... fml
To this day...I AM PROPER GUTTED THAT THIS SOLO IS NOT PART OF THE ALBUM!!!!This song had the potential to be the "Geocentric confusion" of this album. Fuck me man. They actually dropped the ball. In other news I'm gonna be a dad

2:16 The most bakeded Baka I ever did saw
MOONFLOW lmao
MOONFLOW this part reminds me of Colin Marston's first Indricothere release...
MOONFLOW the fact that you listen to The Contortionist makes me very fucking happy. You're amazing ❤
"Wow I am a god"
MOONFLOW fuck off hipster bitch.
Will always be one of those bands that will never have any other like them. Too unique and their sound is entirely their own. Exoplanet to this, nothing falls short of incredible.
Lol fuck it I'm done. I can already tell this album will launch me straight into another dimension.
In retrospect 5 years later, Clairvoyant is still obviously incredible. Also in retrospect 5 years later, Godspeed could've been an S-Tier track on the album if they would've included the craziness that was heard here. For those that thought the album was going to be drastically different and not good... Worry no more. That bit at the end was amazing!
As a previous skeptic of this album... agreed
I just hope Lessard brings out the growls
Sucks because that end part isn't on the album :( but the whole album is sick
Derek Garcia are you serious? Wtf was the point of putting this video out then...they praised the part. Fucking hell now I'm pissed.
Derek is right. It's only half there
Best band
This song is called Godspeed.... They took out the best part of the solo where he shreds from 2:08 on....... what I dont understand is why they would let us specifically hear that part to get us hyped but then end up taking it off the song? I'm kinda pissed tbh

Same. As for the rest of the album... amazing. But c'mon.... they just Halo 5'd us with Godspeed lmaooo
AxcepT Yeah I was bummed that part wasn't in it. I love both the monochrome songs.
I think this part is actually from a different song (where it also didn't make the cut). I think they just took it out. IMO it was a bit too much for Godspeed anyway.
Baked Baca
Holy shit, that song at the end sounds insane!
Oh my lerrrd!!!!
im so damn excited.
can't wait !!!!
Oh hell yea baby
God damn that song sounds incredible
Tease! We want more already!😭
Excited for the album
What the hell, BRING BACK THAT SOLO
Didn't realize the drummer from LCTR was the engineer for this album.
I love such studio report/update stuff. And it's even more amazing when it's such an awesome band like TC. And even more awesome when you hear such amazing music snips in the video!
Can't wait for this album, guys!!!
Cant wait to see you guys in SEPT!!!!!
I need this album, can't wait to jam this!
Can't wait for #2!!
This album gonna be great

Time to play Reimagined and Absolve on repeat again.
I didn't think it was possible to get anymore excited for this album & then came this video! September can not come soon enough
A drummer in their fb comments already covered this snippet it was pretty much spot on. So excited for this record!
Evan Sammons was from Last Chance to Reason as well (Mike Lessard's previous (?) band). Nice to see him contributing here even though LCTR has been pushed aside temporarily.
It's my music. Just burning my soul.. Thank you guys...
That face when you nailed a track.

Damn! Now this sounds encouraging boys!
Bad news guys, that amazing and divine riff of 2:16 it doesn't have been included in no one song of Clairvoyant. I got the leaked album and that riff/solo doesn't exists. BTW, my favorite one is Monochrome Passive, Return To Earth and Godspeed. (The last one is the song of the 1:36)
Really looking forward to the album release :D
RELEASE THE ALBUM ALREADY I WANT IT
Sooo excited! Your music is Divine.
How can I prepare for my last few semesters when so much good shit is coming out?!
By using it as inspiration.
I wish 2:03 was on the album. fucking sweet blues lick
That riff at 1:38.
Jeremy Miller the bass tone is orgasmic
Jeremy Miller It is from Godspeed, is my favorite one so far from Clairvoyant, dude. It has an amazing final solo.
Rodrigo Castillo Where is the rest of the clip from the video ? Godspeed only has a small section of it 😢
Yeah, I'm confused, it sounds like Godspeed but...
Ya I was pretty sad to discover that they cut a lot of that riff. I'm willing to bet we got a taste of early production. I don't know why they would shorten such an epic part, but I'm sure they have their reasons. Maybe they'll release an extended version some day.
0:25 how about this song’s name ?
Engin it sound so fkg great man its not on the album im just so sad about that but the album is still fkg insane
holy fuck that part sounds so fuccccccccccccccccccccck
It felt like I've been waiting for a year for this album to drop when I heard that solo and then I finally got the album and godspeed begins playing and I waited. And waited.

Yep
spongebob "I'm ready, im ready,im ready,im ready, im ready"
Such a bad decision to remove this epic solo from "Godspeed". I was horribly disappointed when I didn't hear it appear anywhere on the album.
Holy fuck finally some sort of heavy stuff
And they took it off the album too
Squonk yup lol what a joke
THE GODS HAVE LISTENED
1:37-2:47

What the fuck is going on during that riff? Holy shit!
2:24 is how I also feel when hearing what I just heard at 2:20
Damn, the last time they did a studio update The Apparition EP was being recorded.
Lol whats your full name? I cant see it all on mobile
Squonk Musically Oblivious Scene Kid That's Highly Pretentious and Ignorant
amazing lmao
This sounds like... it was all reimagined for some reason.
robby baked af
#Stufdio
why in the hell would they take that riff out of Godspeed... my only complaint on the album. I just hope they play that live
I’m pissed this should of been on the album. Solo was dope!
Helix!
that clip starting at 0:18-38 secs... golden. was it used anywhere?
It's gotta be a cut song from the album sadly, It sounds amazing too
They said it on twitch that it’s a demo called “Salt” and evolved into Godspeed with the lyrics “wish us godspeed”
@@Resurrected9 did they ever say anything about the ending portion on twitch? or that you can remember?
'There might be something weird in the bass line.'
Just spent about 20 minutes trying to find this shit on the record...did they fucking scrap it?
Love the record now that it finally released...but damn. Why the fuck would they do that?
sad :(

0:15 I have that beanie.
DUDE 1:38 WTF!
Did you tracked drums in that room?
(heavy breathing)
something know the name's song of the part 1:37-3:00 ? i hear the album and i dont know what is :((((

So glad he advised you to change that section in Godspeed, would have totally taken the flow and momentum away from the album
Dude they wanna get weird, im down
Yeah, that solo part is sick, but feels kinda unnecessary in the context. Glad I've heard it though
Fuck, those 2 singles have been so forgettable, but that part at the end :0
That wasn't not creepy
Solo was wonderful but out of place imo. Coming from a long time The Contortionist fan. I felt like it was way to over the top. While I love Exo and Intrinsic with Causality being one of my favorite tracks of all time. I'm glad to have seen them go In a very different direction.
HOLY FUCKING CHRIST RELEASE THAT SONG!
1:36 - 3:05 by far the most anticipated section for a virtuoso melodic odd time signature game changer shit in the history of the contortionist.
That never ended up in the album :(
"Stufdio Update" lol these riffs are scrumdiddlyumpcious
Yeah I'm a little sad the solo and silly-core drum syncopations didn't make it, but I totally understand why they didnt keep it in respect to the final product. It would've been the only thing that sounded like that on the album.
