0:57 I can see the hotel I stayed in for 3 nights! Toyama is in such a good location. You can easily reach many awesome places like Kanazawa, Takayama, Shirakawa, the Tateyama alpine route and Kurobe Valley.
Thank you so much for watching Ryuga san! It's not as popular as Kanazawa, but I found out it has its own charm with less crowds. :) I hope you can visit Japan again.
My favourite place, especially in winter. I love how it's less crowded, yet modern n chill. It's underrated but definitely worth a visit. Its a great base from here to visit Kurobe gorge, Kurobe Alpine route, do check the operating dates tho . Kanazawa n Takayama are nearby too. I love the city library, the architecture by Kengo Kuma is gorgeous. The upper floor houses the Glass Art Museum, with some permanent n some seasonal exhibits. Some by Dale Chihuly. Take a local train to Amaharashi coast. For beautiful scenary Or go further to Himi. It wll be my 5th visit this Feb. 😊
Thank you very much for sharing your pro tips! I wish I could visit the library and Glasa Art Museum. I'll be sure to check them out on my next trip. :) Wish you the best for your 5th visit to Toyama!
Thank you Ken san, Toyama looks an interesting place to spend some time. I am enjoying this tour series and seeing another part of the country i need to visit! And I love the old trams in the city, they look so much like the older Melbourne trams!
Thank you so much for watching Mat san! The trams add nice atomosphere to the town. I hope I can get on the Melbourne one someday. I'm really glad to hear you enjoy the travel series. :)
This is a very good video, thank you very much Kengo. I especially like the food and the sake tasting. Thank you for explaining about the sugidama, I have always wondered about the meaning of those balls. P.S. The canal cruise looks fun at first, but when it starts to move so much, it stops being fun (because of sea sickness).
Thank you for watching this video. I'm glad you liked it. That is exactly what I thought during the cruise. I think it's much more calm during summer time. :)
Great video. We took the Alpen Route 2 weeks before you (beautiful weather, clear skies) and like you, we really enjoyed the Dentetsu line ride into Toyama during the golden hour. Toyama has a great vibe, mountains and fresh air, and we wish we had stayed longer. Recommend the museum (and its open rooftop) near Kansui Park for its views, architecture, and collection.
Thanks for watching and sharing your recommendations. I'm glad to hear you also enjoyed the train ride into Toyama in the golden hour. 🌇 That kind of time is memorable during travel. :)
This looks interesting. What I love on this video is the Kansui Park and Cruise, Iwase area (traditional bldgs and Sake drink), and the trams as well.. Thank you for this video :)
Thank you so much for watching Dan san! I’m glad you enjoyed the park, ride on the cruise, and Iwase area. :) I appreciate you watched closely on those attractions. 😊
Another good video, just as i finish the one before on nagano to toyama! Glad to see you enjoy the good seafood /sushi from toyama. Planning to be in toyama, fukui and kanazawa in spring next year! Trying to get away from the main stream tourists!
Thank you for watching this video too! I really enjoyed seafoods in Toyama. :) That's great you are visiting Hokuriku soon. I hope you will enjoy your trip to Toyama, Fukui and Kanazawa!
Real nice video Ken san. That is the same hotel we have reserved for 5 days in April and check out the Toyama Caste, Glass Art Museum and Science Museum, Toyama city hall observation tower and then take the river cruise you did in this video. Hope it will not be cold in April. Cheers from Canada.
Good to see you cover other areas now beside Tokyo :-) I went to Toyama for a day trip because I wanted to see the Fugan Canal and glass museum. I met 2 Japanese who spoke perfect English. I wonder if it's a pure coincide or the Japanese there generally are proficient in English. Will go back again!
Hi Kenchan If I'm not mistaken there are 2 Toyoko inn hotels near the station. We stayed in the one nearest to the station. We did a day trip to Kanazawa See you in Kanazawa😊 Cheers Btw we payed approx USD 100 for BnB in April 24 😊
