Influencers giving false hope of better life abroad should be called out. They're enriching themselves from unaware innocent students and professionals.
@allanhouston22Exactly. Yes the influencers are immoral but things like this are not supposed to be possible in a modern rich industrial nation like germany. We praise and put ourselves on a moral pedestal for having high moral standards and ideals but then let things like this happens while rich people enrich themselves even more often through taxpayer money! Easy loopholes like this that allow predatory companys to be completely unscathed while breaking the laws have to be fixed immediately!
not only giving false hope of better life abroad, but also demonizing the life people already have in India. Showing India in bad light (what dhruv rathee does) and then marketing western lifestyle works as multiplier effect for indians to leave india.
Reality is Germany is looking for cheap blue collar labors not high skilled workers, in the name of shortage of skilled labor scam project. It is a fact and will remain so.
This is not just about Germany but most European countries including UK. Govt keeps telling everyone that they want Highly Skilled Individuals but Agriculture, Care workers and Construction is where Majority of Work Visas are issued. They don't need Doctors, Engineers or Computer Science Graduates, they need cheap labor.
Warsaw is full of food delivery bike drivers. I bet these poor folks need to pay to get to Europe. The may be an organised schema to bring in foreign workers illegally.
Construction work under the harsh sun is also brutal. construction workers throughout gulf are usually bangladeshi. many of them get severely injured or die, but those incidents are quickly swept under the rug 😢
Same in italy but they are usually from countries in africa. 2.50 euro per delivery. But the state just took over glovo. Its the end of them in italy 100 per cent.
Germany needs to tighten private universities aka scamiverisities. They are growing rapidly in Germany which is bad for both the student victims and the host country.
@tubetotto public unis are often fine. But there are many private universities which are scamiverisities that give admission without any criteria for very high fees.
So getting into a public university is safe? I mean obviously one has to bring the skills and language with him, I have around 2/3years before I move out so please enlighten me.
Nope if that is gone too, then an entire section of the population is essentially jobless. The problem is not these jobs but label of viable alternatives/options .
@sirg3137 You really think a recent graduate with no local language skills, whose only recent work experience is food delivery, with zero connections for anything other than food delivery business, is going to get employed over all the competition in this economy? Medium-to-low paying fields like nursing or hospitality where there's extreme worker demand sure, but for anything paying above average it's not realistic.
@zimbu_ you know which community earn highest in germany?? it's indian community. most of them are doing tech or other high level degree. Many have experience working in india. They just want German advance degree.
No, Indian QOL is amazing, they are free, they are respected. Its the lure of money and perceived higher living status, and showing off to family and friends back home, thanks to.Bollywood selectively showcasing Europe as some fancy fashionable place. I wish only Indian students who have some focussed research or skill to be gained go there.
@Spr-no9oythey make it hard for students with proper qualifications to enter Europe because of their slow bureaucracy but let people who can’t sustain easy. It is unfair.
as an indian, i do get this feeling that the persons behind those phone numbers are in fact, indians. such scams/shady stuff is quite rampant here in india, and that like it or not, this country is notorious for similar business.
Accustomed to caste system, they may not only do it to out casts and obc abroad, they'll also do it on class system as law's there will Crack down systematically if they do it on only the basis on caste system, same castist mindset does prioritizes may not discriminate which caste you belong but will use same bigoted supremacist mindset.
Yeah. There are plenty of ads videos on RUclips made by Indian companies using AI. I suppose they make these videos for numerous countries. They are a scam and a trap for naive people expecting large revenues by investment.
How does a masters degree in finance person fall for this? Did he do no research whatsoever before quitting well paying job and deciding to come to Germany to essentially start over?
as immigrant myself we decided to move to another country sometimes not because of the money only but more safety and clean environment europe has offer. in India too many people means too many crime polluted air in India, living among poverty is tiring
Personally i would say at some point of life when you are hopeless , sharing issues with a random person is more comfortable than parents or even relatives
Be valuable until you come and then they still flip the card to your face. This is Germany, they will always tell you what ever your qualifications were is still below par. Easier said than done
@LaurencePop there's many Indian students working in low wage sectors basically, esp fast food. Such jobs were originally meant to be temporary jobs to give u income while you're temporarily unemployed but now that the numerous Indians students fill up these types of jobs to the brim, there's basically no more side jobs left if you happen to be unemployed and are looking for a new job. Also, if u think housing crisis in European major cities are bad enough, it's even worse in Canadian big cities and food there are 2-3x German food prices at least
@LaurencePop it's crazy bad lol. Don't enter, especially if ur only choice is big cities. Europe slavery is nothing compared to Canada where u slave away and still won't make ends meet
I guy saying about massive online advertisement in india isn't wrong. I'm from India and I got daily adds telling me there is massive shortage of accountants in usa and Europe. So according to them I should take a CPA or CFA course to move. The scam is massive
There are actually shortages when it comes to some professions in Germany. Wether or not you speak German well enough to do those jobs is a different question.
He just got the degree with pure memorization of questions and answers for his college exams in India. No real world experience by seeking out internship or mentorship programs like how western students do, while they are in college in western countries.
@user-ds5oh1xc1x He is completely right. The indian guy basically wanted free lunch. That free lunch doesn't exist is one of the first things you learn in finances.
Especially for people like India , Pakistan etc , u only come through your company to work in Eu . European people have huge problems after graduating finding jobs .
The same has been happening since 10 years to many students from South East Europe, who come to study in Denmark. The universities advertise high quality studies and career opportunities following graduation, yet international students find themselves excluded from jobs in their study fields and pushed into 0-hour flex "vikar" manual jobs. This whole thing is just a scam, to make young people come, pay rent in overpriced low quality housing, and pay taxes for the natives pensions doing the jobs the natives don't wanna do. Don't fall for it.
@wk1879sIt would be colonialism if the host nation forced the people to do that but it's some utopian thought that the west gives away freebies to everyone, which is insanity however the ones responsible should be punished severely
@warcrimeconnoisseur5238Exactly. That's why it's called neo-colonialism/-liberalism. It's truly not as brutal as the old version, but its essence is still colonialism. Who sets up the international rules? Who is beneficial from the established rules? It's a total war.
The start of the video mentioned the students were given with false hope of getting better life in Germany via studying in private university there but was “surprised” by high living costs even when one of the interviewees were a finance analyst back in India. On top of that, assuming that they came to Germany using student visa, there is a work hour limit of 20 hours per week, based on what they were surprised about the staggering living costs, how would they earn enough to be sustainable?
mag sein dass das einkommen in deutschland höher ist als in vielen ländern aber die abgaben und lebenshaltungskosten sind genauso hoch oder gefühlt höher
I don’t know what your talking about. My doctor is from Iraq, my dentist is Greek, the teacher of my child is of Syrian descent. Even the MAYOR of my city is a born and raised Syrian (Mike Josef, FFM) It’s not about origin but about qualifications!
Few points: 1. German Language - atleast B2 level. 2. Thorough research before moving 3. Cultural sensitivity and DYI 4. If you have opportunity in homeland, don't move. 5. If you are there for studying, do that first, money later. 6. Finally there's no easy money, be realistic and pragmatic. Thanks!
you clearly have no idea about the situation on the ground. German is not required for the majority of tech roles at international companies in Berlin; English is the working language (e.g. Google, Zalando, Wolt, Delivery Hero, Liferando, SumUp, N26, SoundCloud, GetYourGuide, Vinted etc)
This 100%,the only thing i imagine is, that the study first argument might not apply to kost of them, due to cost of living in germany is so much higher than india, that those who come here cannot afford to study without having a job that fully supports them financially. But that calculation needs to be done beforehand, the internet is a wonderful thing - everything can be researched first. Don’t make decisions based on illusions and for some the study visa was just considered an entry ticket instead of seriously interested in studying
Me and my partner has a small company in gaming industry with well revenue in Turkey. We have planned to relocate our business in Berlin Germany by establishin gmbh because we have been told that since our childhood Germany has better welfare system and more stable in terms of justice and human rights. It took more than 1 year to get our visa and we could only stay a week to get an idea what is real germany look like. Lawyers and consultants everywhere but nothing works correctly. We had been losing money to all beurocracy without any compelling market or atmosphere. We came back to Turkey immediately but it costs us more than 40k euros to have such experience. I think its a price we paid to see the truth behind the delusion. I wish the best for the hardworking people who left his or her hometown to create better future.
It sounds like you got swept away by mental images, logically it makes little sense. The things you mentioned are important if you're living on welfare, and in need of low-cost assistance from the justice system because your human rights have been violated in some manner. Not a likely situation to come up soon for someone with means to pay 40k euros to lawyers.
I am an American who lived in Turkey for almost 4 years. I can't even estimate the amount of young Turkish people I urged not to waste time, energy, and money learning German. The amount of marketing for Germany as an efficient, logical, fair place is nuts. Germany is a mess, and much of the native population is in huge denial about how bad it is. I worked with multiple companies that had operations in Europe and anything that touched Germany was always such a drag of dumb paperwork and taxes. Much of Europe is coasting on reputations from generations ago.
@zimbu_ You’re right, from a logical standpoint it doesn’t make much sense. I was simply pointing out a mindset that has become quite common among young people in my hometown, including those with good education and stable, well-paid jobs. It’s a belief system lacks of reality that’s been around for a long time.
Yeah, but companies like Uber have created a unique free labor system fueled by predatory algorithms and loopholes around the slave labor laws which enable them to pay nothing, no minimum wage. They're not obligated by law to pay a single penny, unlike perhaps some of the other casual jobs.
Yes but the Indian people that end up in these situations are middle class in India, which means they never had a student job, never had any blue collar job in India, so they're clueless and it all comes as a big shock to them. In fact, delivery jobs in India are more exploitative and millions of Indian men are stuck in them for a lifetime.
For those who are interested in coming to Germany: Choose a public university. Learn German up to B2 level-not just to get a certificate, but to be able to hold basic conversations so you can find better part-time jobs. While learning, watch German TV series and films back home. If you are pursuing a master’s degree, do an internship, even if it means taking an extra semester, to gain practical work experience. In Germany, it’s not about how fast you get your degree, but about how much hands-on experience you have. When looking for a job, never come without securing a position first. The Job Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte) and similar options will mostly just drain your money Currently, its tough to find positions for highly skilled workers. It may or may not change. Nursing field is still promising.
B2 level German is literal low fluency (i.e fully independent, complex use of the language, and being able to fully engage in highly complex topics you hold in-depth knowledge in, it's literally technical fluency). Basic conversations is A2 level, B1 is competent independent but simple usage.
@melancholicsloth oh evel consulting agents and government.... maybe they should use their brain as well, before make any important decigions in life, no?
West has enough qualified talent for most job sectors. What they don't have are low paid gig workers and old age home care workers. If Indian students coming now to Europe think they'll end up in high paying jobs then this is the reality that awaits them.
The current administration in germany , like the one before it, keeps talking about attracting highly qualified talent while most of the graduates I know take anywhere from 3 months to a year with applications in the triple digits to land a job. Meanwhile the employers expect 3 years of work experience for an entry level job and entry level pay. My theory is that they think foreigners, especially from Asia, will do the same job for less pay.
Didn't germany have a huge problem with attracting new talent to the country? I am not sure, but i remember i read it on the internet recently from a trusted source, like TLDR News eu or another similar channel (not sure it is certainly TLDR News).
Well Germany has the same problems the entire world has my experience is that people from the same country will exploit their own nationality more than anyone else
@melancholicslothI was fired from construction contacts because my Indonesian, Indian and other counties were not being paid the longest period was Indians not being paid for 6 months I have a attitude problem I don’t like slavery and abuse of people working for me it cost me 100,000 $ by I still respect myself
I don’t understand how this people believing only the positive advertising on internet but never stumble upon the reality on internet 😂😂😂 . It is enough to type in Chat GPT about the conditions of living in Germany for a student immigrated there and voila …
I agree. Even German citizens with degrees are finding it difficult to get jobs that match their skill. Relentless advertising is one thing but one look at internet forums will tell you the reality
I am an immigrant myself, came here on a work visa and now I have a permanent residence permit. In my experience with Indian co-workers, most of them come to Germany on a student visa and then try to circumvent the laws and hope to find a way to stay longer and earn as if they're on a work visa. That's why it's very hard for them to find real jobs because employers won't risk breaking the law to employ them. This is where middle-men come into play as they do the shady things for the aforementioned companies.
This isn't just about delivery apps; it’s the platform economy eating the world. We need to tame this beast before it hollows out our own nation-states.
The truth is simple: eu and us corporations need cheap labour to make the profits they salivate thinking about daily. They prefer to trick foreigners than hire locals, which can force political decisions. But you can't realy advertise this, can you?
If someone trick them, than it's the indian privider. Nobody in Gemany tries to lure someone from India to come here. That is nonsense. You confuse that with with Russia. Didn't they just sign a contract, to take workers from India? Good luck there.
@TheGermanFabianoh well I used past perfect.. didn’t you se it? there are changes happening in Europe and degradation in the value of degrees the last couple of decades but this does not prove you right
That whatsapp number / middlemen belongs to an Indian...AND the 'Maths' applied by Indian Students are : (A) put some fund and get enrolled in ANY colleges either in EUROPE / CANADA / AUSTRALIA (B) Once you are there, start working full time & use money to pay ur living expense and loan pay-off in India (C) Get a permanent residency (D) Boast in INDIA about ur great achievement
@kilambossAC They hardly study. Just enough to pass the exams and in some places where the tuition fee is not high (Public Unis in Germany for example) they can extend their studies for upto 5 years, working menial jobs and earning money. I have had friends who saved a good amount by working in Restaurants. The student Visa is essentially a ticket to get out of the country and get access to the foreign economy.
@rohitpullela2606 Its pretty tough to get a job, if you graduate from a private university. If you end up with a non-blue card job, it takes around 6 years just to get that PR.
I am from a Balkan country and went to do MSc. in Germany. Ended up dissapointed and moved back home because Germany is so overrated it's unbelievable. (I persisted to complete the nonsense degree btw).
I really don’t know who overrated it in the first place. People just come here for the promise of a social state. That’s the overrate let’s be honest. And then shockingly state wants something in return
Due to unrealistic expectations and limited understanding of the actual situation, many students and job-seeker visa holders end up working in food delivery, drifting away from their original career goals just to meet daily living expenses. I am sharing what I see as the ground reality with those who ask me for suggestion about moving to Germany. Without proper planning and sufficient financial backup, life in a foreign country can quickly become chaotic.
I'm confused. If they come to Germany with a student visa, why aren't they studying? A student working 12 hrs./day is not allowed under German labor law. This is a scam. These students should inform themselves of their labor rights. It's strange though, that they are concerned when the authorities check their status fearing that they might be deported. I mean, if you aren't doing something illegal, then you shouldn't worry. So I think, they are willing "victims". If their real intention of coming to Germany is to work, then they should learn the language at least to B2 level, look for an employer, then apply for a WORK visa. There's no backdoor.
They aren't studying cuz someone's gotta put food on their plate? Yes you're right, before moving to a different place for education one should have ample amount of resources beforehand but most of these students don't have it and in desperation they took out student loans which is easily available these days. Its all desperation which led them to this , just like people losing money on wall street and Casinos
@nawabofwallstrti mean even with what you say the point raised by OP still stands. How this „well-paid“ financial analyst couldn’t analyse such basic stuff is beyond me lol. If one is well paid, one gets a good enough loan, to focus exclusively on their studies during the semester. What does he even aim in the long term with this strategy? He‘s not gonna learn the skills he‘s supposed to which will turn into a useless masters degree even if he manages to get one!
@Digitalden-ph8ziman even i'm a bit confused in this particular lad's case but i was trying to make a point in general, like most students complete their bachelor's and if they aren't able to find a job, they opt for masters, gor majority its an escape from reality or rather just delaying the reality by a few years in hopes of getting a job after their masters, i mean its a complex socio-economic issue of the country (India) itself.
I wouldn't judge because all it takes is allowing ones emotions to take over their decision process. In this case, social media selling impossible dreams to people who drastically want to make a change. This culture is making critical thinking an exhausting battle. They just continually hit us with a barrage of lies and deception with the notion that they can wear out our will to fight; and it works.
@amribrahim7850Actually what you said works only for new graduates not those who do on ground work. Once you enter jobs and do work for 1 year you are no different from a foreign educated person. This blind hate against Indian education is the reason for over expectations on germany. I have seen many people know that foreign is bad they literally know but convince themselves with dreams telling themselves it is worth the risk. One other reason is those who succeed push their stories. Indians hear negativity everyday and the sudden gush of positivity pushes them. Let me tell you even if 90% of people fail statistically people still go abroad. Take rapes for example. They claim 90% aren't even reported but even if you do 10 times the rape count India would still be safer than other countries. But people's guilt and optics push them there.
unc he already has work experience as data analyst. noone pays salaries for free. you need to have skills and along with that need to solve real world problems. So he has those skills that's why he got that job in India. In india also it's very competitive due to a lot of the graduates being unemployed
Correct...many people find it hard to digest...there is no free money in world....only people with right skills at right time at right place survives...if u r are 25 years old, by this time u should have identified ur skills, place where u can get better results....it's not the responsibility of Indian govt or German govt to get u a private job
@mohana12so why did he fail to get the same job in Germany? What is your plan here guys anyway? In Europe competition is even higher, because people here dont just hold meme degrees, they are also educated.
Mate, an indian lady, studied data science with me....she had a career in marketing (15 years), they told her...they would give her a job, the moment she stepped out of the gate at the airport.....she had to extend her visa...went back to India....no job....she was qualified and yet...no job....and we keep hearing on media..." we need more qualified people!" Do we ? Seriously ? Do we ?
This is the reality if being a good student in the undeveloped world. You are taken care of by your parents like an infant and you have zero judgement skills, then you want to escape that world, but you are not prepared to live like an adult.
Maybe its just me but he didnt make a sharp impression on me either. is it the 12 hour shifts or are they handing out master degrees like its candy in some places?
„Financial Analyst“ is Business speaker for Entry ranks of Consulting of every kind. Software, Accounting, Auditing etc. they just call it like that because „junior Consultant“ is like 2 ranks above it already so they need to find fancy names
The same thing exists in Canada on an even much more massive scale. At least there, the so-called private universities are referred to as "degree mills", meaning that they don't really offer an education that is of value, but they are being used as loopholes for people to be able to get a visa, in the hope of later on getting a residency permit. The German universities where these students are enrolled should be evaluated very closely by the government. Only programs that require students to actually spend a considerable amount of time on site and that have a true academic value should be eligible for visas.
Absolutely true I follow a Indian RUclipsr who lost his job in Canada and he comes from a very rich middle class like upper middle class and he immediately came back to India after rotting in the cold of Canada for 8 months with no job to fall back on his family’s business back in India. He was lucky his parents supported him wholeheartedly
I spoke with a couple of Indians in Canada and they told me that already back in India there is an entire industry that will advertise for people to go to Canada and help them set everything up. Also, often times it's Indians who will then rent out rooms to their compatriots or employ them. Especially if they take out a loan to make the trip, it's a big risk. Often times, it's not worth it, I assume. My impression was that both sides try to take advantage of each other. Some Canadians want to profit from people willing to work for low wages and the immigrants try to game the immigration system. One Indian told me that as soon as he gets Canadian citizenship, he wants to go to the UK.
Thank you for addressing this. I have worked with flink, they are very abusive...and fire any time for no reason..they know international students can't fight ...it is not just Indian all international students are being exploited in Germany
What is the best of way supporting workers? ( asking genuinely) Should we boycott and stop using flink, wolt, etc.. Should we tip more? Or should we support any workers movement to request better rights? Thank you
@afr-mar Supporting workers movement is the best thing to put better laws for gig workers. Tipping is nice, but it's not a long term solution. Boycotting won't work because lets be honest, the whole world is moving towards delivery services for convenience.
@AndreiaRuivo supporting changed labour law to protect the workers,..but meanwhile tipping them more right now could save them alot. Their earnings from tipps aren't affected by the employers.
Indian students should think twice about moving abroad, the reality is quite different. Staying with growing indian economy is the smart move at this moment.
Here in Montenegro there's Turkish workers on our construction sites in the capital city and on the Adriatic coastline and also doing a delivery jobs...But not for long i guess. EU membership in our near future requires no visa free travel for Turkey.
I would recommend all young people around the world who want to come to Germany to get a training position at a small company. There are so many companies that want to expand but cant find good workers and have the necercary language skills. Just look for electrician, mecanics etc... If you apply however you should have a cv that suggests that you want to learn german.
Not to mention the menace these workers are on the roads with their illegal vehicles. Same outrageous situation is happening in Poland with exactly the same companies involved. We are all getting shafted by the great IT robber platforms
True, but Germany shouldn't be fine them. It was Germany government which allowed companies to pay 1€ per delivery so that they would get a few pennies through VAT. These companies don't pay any taxes
@Suchen_Wahrheitpeople spend shot ton of money just to get the food delivered home. Oftentimes it comes cold. Let's face it, how many ppl order fancy food? Typically it's McD, Doner or stuff off that nature with a bottle of coke x3 times more expensive than in a shop. Waste of money. Ppl do this to themselves.
When your legal status is not STUDENT, both Wolt and Uber Eats wont give you a job but keep you only the waiting list. Now I know why and whom they are targeting. I will never order again if the restaurant delivers through Wolt or Uber eats.
Indians are not exploited because they don't complain and are easily welcome and accepted by explooitters than others...... such are communities where clans and caste system exist.......
I don't know why westerners who don't know what caste is talk about caste system. Caste system is not even a system. To call it a system it has to work or preached top down. Caste is just like trade unions.
As a young German the lack of specialised workers is a myth. It’s a lack of decent employers in those fields… That’s why the want cheap foreign workers. We provide an easy access through the middle class through 3 years of underpaid education, but the middle class is exploited once you reach it
Meaning in money we offer a relatively stable path to being able to earn 2500 -3500 €/month but after utilities and rent and taxes you’ll be able to save only about 500 per month… That used to be fine with a working social system for it, but they want to cut down on that
In Latin America we're been spamed with ads everywhere about "study and work" in "X" European country. WE KNOW they want cheap labor! No country is waiting for you with open arms to give a "better life". Let's use our brains a little more!
Thank you so much for putting it up. Someone is really speaking about it. For getting in Uber, you gotta pay cash 550euro and then also after getting into it, the amount you make, they will take 30% of your income + tax.
The job market is oversaturated all over Europe, especially for entry IT and office jobs. Youth unemployment is at an all time high and there's a rampant housing crisis. Ursula may have invited you here, but there's no space left, Europe is full.
@sanketkotian1914 But the unemployment rate in Finland is worse than in Canada, phd graduates are out here driving taxis and doing delivery jobs, I wouldn’t recommend anyone to move to Finland unless they already have a source of income
I was working for Wolt as a working student between 2021-2023. Wolt started transitioning to subcontractors around 2022. The change in working conditions was absolutely apparent, even for us that were directly employed by the company. The german government cleary does not want to tackle the problem.
In 2019 I worked at Lieferando. Now I would like to do it again as a part time job. But it's impossible to get a delivery job. Only Indians are employed. In the past all kinds of people worked there, now it's a completely different world. But I understand it because in the past the business model was unsustainable, it only works with exploitation...
Work experience is paramount in the current job market around the world, especially in the age of AI where entry level roles are diminishing in almost every sector. This isn’t just unique to Europe or North America, but also applies to Asia. Anyone who thinks it’s easy to just migrate to another country and make it, is just kidding themselves. People resorting to labor jobs like food delivery are just taking the easy (and short-term) route for money/visa requirements.
Germany sets the blocked account requirement based on an average national cost of living, not Berlin prices. In smaller cities that amount is usually workable. In Berlin or Munich, rent alone can eat most of it. So if a student chooses a high-demand city with tight housing and higher costs, they’re automatically putting more pressure on themselves financially. That said, many programs are concentrated in major cities, especially English-taught ones, and bigger cities offer more part-time job options. So it’s not purely a bad decision. It’s often just incomplete financial planning or underestimating the housing market. Students who choose smaller university towns, apply early for dorms, and line up campus jobs usually experience far less stress. Location strategy makes a huge difference in Germany.
It's the same on Australia as well, I would say about 90 percent of uber eats bike riders are indian in Sydney imo, most of them seem to have Masters degrees as well
What gibberish are we talking about, even people with batchelors are doing well in there jobs in IT. Stop genralizing and do some research.. less than 1% of phds are unemployed.. if you have a genuine batchelors degree and normal English you can easily land job and run a mediocre life atleast. It's only the zeal to earn and will power to do something@InternetDisplayofPower
He dreams of becoming a data scientist in Germany? Those roles are usually reserved for PhD holders. Plus, there are many candidates with Master’s or Diploma degrees from local German universities. HR tends to value their degrees and local experience much more than those from Indian institutions, even the IITs.
I have some serious concerns about the details. 12*13.90 = 166.8 is the minimum wage. How come the students earn 80 at max? It is less than half of the minimum wage. On top of that, why would someone not know the identity of the employer? In addition, the other students who said they are Indian, why they had to think for 5 seconds before answering that. It says a lot.
Because it's an illegal work. They're only allowed by law to work 20h/week. If more it's definitely outside the scope of law and they won't be protected by law. Problem is, there's way too many students and illegal immigrants willing to do it just to get some money
@takeru05 You can work 140 full days or 280 half days in Germany on a student visa. There is no cap as 20 hours per week. It's an average. If you have not worked for 6 months in a year and decide to work continuosly in the next 6 months, it won't be a problem.
@gotfan7743 which also translates into 20h/week on avg, question is whether this 10-12h/day lasts more than 4-5 months per year or not, at which point it'll be entering Schwarzarbeit area. Given the pressure from the subcontractor, it's highly likely it's already crossing into Schwarzarbeit tbh
Because in theory (for the system) it is not them (the indian guys) who are working as registered delivery employees. Someone else is registered in the app and this one "lends the rights of working" to the indian guy so they can do the job. The guy who is registered in the app receives the money and then gives part of it to the indian guy who is actually working as delivery employee. It's like you get hired to do a job, but instead of you doing it you hire someone else to do it and pay this guy for the work done while you keep part of the money.
Influencers giving false hope of better life abroad should be called out. They're enriching themselves from unaware innocent students and professionals.
100% correct
Right… but German administration lets this explotation all happen. And the German employers are thriving on cheep labor
Not so innocent actually
Because germans are cheap society generally known everywhere...Ask in any tourist destinations about their experiences with germans...💩👎
This is not just about Germany but most European countries including UK. Govt keeps telling everyone that they want Highly Skilled Individuals but Agriculture, Care workers and Construction is where Majority of Work Visas are issued. They don't need Doctors, Engineers or Computer Science Graduates, they need cheap labor.
the corrupt leaders and billionares need to be called out
I have been saying that for years. I am glad to see a comment like that
You know this because? Btw i have been here for 15 years.
Same in Latvia, lots of Indian students end up working for delivery companies
This is truly inspirational. Your future leaders delivering food to you.
i saw same in Lithuania (Vilnius) as well. seems this is a new kind of strategy of body shopping
@abhishekdutta2211you are also food delivery driver in Lithuania? Pls tell me how you got there
Warsaw is full of food delivery bike drivers. I bet these poor folks need to pay to get to Europe. The may be an organised schema to bring in foreign workers illegally.
You have no idea how ironic that is. For an Indian.
Not only Indian students! It is a systematic exploitation of lower income class
no everyone else get social money.
That's when you work with turkey here in germany
@TheZorn51students are not eligible for social money in Germany.
Lower income class need to know how to mng your money & upgrade your skills. If not nothing will chg..
In Dubai, the food delivery riders are from Pakistan. To see someone on a bike delivering food in temperatures approaching 40 Celsius is very sad😢
Its the end of them in italy 100 per cent.
the indians here in canada also get taken advantage of and treated bad, BY OTHER INDIANS
True, I’m in Canada and I second that
The Caste system. Canadian edition.
Very heartwarming to hear!!
@Kapa3nobody sees caste in these cases
Coming for citizenship
Germany needs to tighten private universities aka scamiverisities. They are growing rapidly in Germany which is bad for both the student victims and the host country.
With the demography shrinking, the pool of students house down, that's why the Unis are looking for foreign students
@tubetotto public unis are often fine. But there are many private universities which are scamiverisities that give admission without any criteria for very high fees.
Yeah like the Hertie School of business fex. A complete scam.
So getting into a public university is safe? I mean obviously one has to bring the skills and language with him, I have around 2/3years before I move out so please enlighten me.
@dev.ansh19 having language is very important.
Go after Bolt, Uber Eats, and Wolt, and the problem is solved. But no, nobody is interested in "bothering" the powerful multinationals.
STFU 😂😂😂😂. Don’t need so much truth here
Nope if that is gone too, then an entire section of the population is essentially jobless. The problem is not these jobs but label of viable alternatives/options .
Or the subcontractors
@surajjohn3679No, the problem is the subcontractors
Don't forget Glovo! Also, the "partners" that come with those services...
Same in Sweden, tons of Indian students here also working for similar companies like Uber Eats, Wolt and Foodora
Same in UK for Uber Eats, Deliveroo…but it’s illegal to work these jobs on a student visa
@modernviewer all are doing this part time jobs to cover there expenses. most of them will get high paying jobs when they complete there degree.
While we have a million unemployed arabs and africans 😅 swedish logic
The solution to this problem is improving the quality of life in India. People are so desperate to leave India.
India is rich with best university
The only peroblem too many population...
@AkramAssadi-w7t nope
India has democracy. That's enough
Accustomed to caste system, they may not only do it to out casts and obc abroad, they'll also do it on class system as law's there will Crack down systematically if they do it on only the basis on caste system, same castist mindset does prioritizes may not discriminate which caste you belong but will use same bigoted supremacist mindset.
india is simply populating too fast for the infrastructure and markets to grow quickly enough
@Stick_Chronic Even if the population growth slowed down, the infrastructure wouldn't magically improve.
@Jayjay-gp3ne what are you blabbering about caste? What it has to do with this
Yeah. There are plenty of ads videos on RUclips made by Indian companies using AI. I suppose they make these videos for numerous countries. They are a scam and a trap for naive people expecting large revenues by investment.
Bharat in Germany - This guy started it all.
That guy is a scam
Need more spotlight on this. The guy just preaches and preys on people for his business.
And he himself left Germany
@sachinsgiri Why did he leave Germany?
@ahmedmudassir5740he moved to Romania
@user-16757 I had the same reason to move to Canada, not just because I had a well paying job but because of the other factors you mentioned
That's my point exactly!!
Asked myself that question too, and I dont want to be offensive but for data science research his English level is below average.
@user-16757who are you
He couldn't tell his family but he could tell a public broadcast media.
Personally i would say at some point of life when you are hopeless , sharing issues with a random person is more comfortable than parents or even relatives
At least he’s brave to share his story to try to let his native people and the world know about this news to not fall scam to social media narratives
@aspark07 true that! entitled folks aren't gonna get this though..
You feel smart now isn't it? By trying to prove something without a thought process.
thanks for pointing that out... really relevant to this video
Never move countries to “become” valuable.
Become valuable first, then move.
When are you starting?
Rhetoric like “become valuable first” quickly sumarizes the biggest social issue literally plaguing every form of economic and social equality.
Be valuable until you come and then they still flip the card to your face. This is Germany, they will always tell you what ever your qualifications were is still below par. Easier said than done
Your comment will stay with me for long
100%
Next one should be about the Amazon subcontractors in Germany.
Why? Thats allways about €€€€€€ Management. They get a lot, they spend a lot.
Yes big scam
The consulting agencies operating in India are mainly responsible for this.
Germany will soon turn out to be a Canada case!
new eu agrement is disasterrr.
Germany cannot be a Canada because of language barrier. You learn the language then u r king that's it
@LaurencePop it's crazy bad lol. Don't enter, especially if ur only choice is big cities. Europe slavery is nothing compared to Canada where u slave away and still won't make ends meet
They are themselves responsible for this . Stop sympathising. You don’t buy a product straight out when you watch an ad.
I guy saying about massive online advertisement in india isn't wrong. I'm from India and I got daily adds telling me there is massive shortage of accountants in usa and Europe. So according to them I should take a CPA or CFA course to move. The scam is massive
I'm happy in india
@DesertFish-t1l
These young guys don't learn the language.
And I am sure those behind the ads in India aren't Germans. Maybe Indian authorities need to take action.
miles CPA ki baat kr rhe hoo. 😅😅😅
There are actually shortages when it comes to some professions in Germany. Wether or not you speak German well enough to do those jobs is a different question.
Lol he is a financial analyst and did not check the rent before ? What is his degree worth if this is even out of his reach ?!
😂😂😂 dark humour
exactly my thought.
Wouldn’t entrust my money to him.
@Anvilarmadillo, you don’t understand anything and you won’t
He just got the degree with pure memorization of questions and answers for his college exams in India. No real world experience by seeking out internship or mentorship programs like how western students do, while they are in college in western countries.
@user-ds5oh1xc1x He is completely right. The indian guy basically wanted free lunch. That free lunch doesn't exist is one of the first things you learn in finances.
Especially for people like India , Pakistan etc , u only come through your company to work in Eu . European people have huge problems after graduating finding jobs .
Yep simple math if locals aren’t happy with their employment then how tf will foreign labours be bruh
Exactly! I don't understand how people cannot see that.
In short, neo-colonialism armed with IT supremacy.
@wk1879sCannot agree more.
🔝🔛💯reality 👍
The grass is not always greener on the other side.
But itz greener in summer 😂
3 trillion economy saar 🗣🗣🗣
True
Compared to India, the grass is literally greener for them in basically every moderately developed country.
@Dark_Knight_7777 india and china has the most job opportunities
The start of the video mentioned the students were given with false hope of getting better life in Germany via studying in private university there but was “surprised” by high living costs even when one of the interviewees were a finance analyst back in India.
On top of that, assuming that they came to Germany using student visa, there is a work hour limit of 20 hours per week, based on what they were surprised about the staggering living costs, how would they earn enough to be sustainable?
Even as a born german with background in immigration (Lebanon 3rd generation). I can't even find a proper position as a BORN AND RAISED GERMAN.
The labour market is scammy and trash
Lebanese culture maybe
I don’t know what your talking about. My doctor is from Iraq, my dentist is Greek, the teacher of my child is of Syrian descent. Even the MAYOR of my city is a born and raised Syrian (Mike Josef, FFM)
It’s not about origin but about qualifications!
Due to fierce competition, sometimes it comes down to luck by being at the right place and time.
Obviously you have the right mindset to move to Lebanon. Gute Reise!
Few points:
1. German Language - atleast B2 level.
2. Thorough research before moving
3. Cultural sensitivity and DYI
This is really true.
Exactly these points, even for qualified Germans now it's very hard to find a job
As a native German, I was at a job convention. People asked in English, IT already requires German level C2, which is near native
If you had paid me 40k i would have set up the GmbH for you, lol
@pipoo5576 It was the cheapest item on relocation process. :) Most of it has gone in the process for useless procedures. :)
Everyone out there, food delivery is not the only job right now that exploits you in Germany... almost all casual jobs are the same.
If you're illegally working, yes.
If not, then no, it's not exploitation and I'd like to hear why, because such a position is ridiculous.
For those who are interested in coming to Germany:
Choose a public university.
The Job Opportunity Card (Chancenkarte) and similar options will mostly just drain your money
Currently, its tough to find positions for highly skilled workers.
That's really great advise you give there ❤
Great reporting, thanks for covering this!
Especially in the winter, I see those poor Indians depressed and very sad, they were scammed about beautiful life in Germany...
bro stfu who scammed them??
@melancholicsloth oh evel consulting agents and government.... maybe they should use their brain as well, before make any important decigions in life, no?
@tetiana_bir you should consult a dictionary before typing a comment
@alexspata did you watch the video we are commenting on?
The can get back to India any time they want
You know nothing about the reality of how things are
Didn't germany have a huge problem with attracting new talent to the country? I am not sure, but i remember i read it on the internet recently from a trusted source, like TLDR News eu or another similar channel (not sure it is certainly TLDR News).
There are enough people in West who can do these Jobs..it's just that they don't like to do it...
So true!
Are you actually thinking they're the ONLY group fooled by this?
Seriously? Be honest right now
indian govt is the worst... If they did their jobs well, none of this would happen to our people..
Wat r u scribbling... It's ur government job...
Exactly...
Modiji promised 20 million jobs each year by selling tea and pakora
@rajeshkumarm6441 chai wale se kya umeed karoge?
okay let you government know on to have a control on birth, teach how to use condoms
do your research before moving.
Yes on tiktok 😂
@ryanwalters6184its banned in India..
especially as a master in data science.. that should be literally his profession
@ryanwalters6184tiktok is banned in India
100% if you have a masters in DSA you should be able to land a job before you even arrive.
Same in Italy
Same in France
Same in all EU it seems... Weird right?
@french-PM Yup even in Eastern Europe like Latvia and Lithuania. They are EVERYWHER. Australia, Czech, Germany, France, Spain, UK
Same for the Chinese @JingJao
if you got stranded in italy thats on you. NOBODY has ever said, italy's economy is growing
Germany signed a migration pact with India. How many Germans migrated to India?
They will that day when 🤣India will be Euro country
Exactly 😂😂
@shaldavya😂😂😂😂
Cheap slave labor for the wealthy, soon Germany will become like the UK.
Why would they move to India?
Great documentary. Food delivery workers were protesting in Copenhagen in January, same reasons.
People with commonsense should stop being lazy and go get their own food!
The truth is simple: eu and us corporations need cheap labour to make the profits they salivate thinking about daily. They prefer to trick foreigners than hire locals, which can force political decisions. But you can't realy advertise this, can you?
Exactly
Yes und depressingly that's the same everywhere in the west
Canadian corporations are the worst offenders and they’re still lobbying the government to increase immigration. Just look at any Tim Hortons.
why cant they set us shop in this places and then export the cheap products to eu, win win
If someone trick them, than it's the indian privider. Nobody in Gemany tries to lure someone from India to come here. That is nonsense. You confuse that with with Russia. Didn't they just sign a contract, to take workers from India? Good luck there.
It had always been difficult to get into public universities.. who told Indian people they come to Europe and get access to white collar jobs..
We have solved everything and the last thing remaining is to take care of the rights of Indians 😅
It's very easy to get into public unis in germany, wdym? Our uni lets in pretty much anyone...
@TheGermanFabianexactly what I said good degrees are still difficult
@georgiospassas7498 No, you said getting into public universities is still difficult.
@TheGermanFabianoh well I used past perfect.. didn’t you se it? there are changes happening in Europe and degradation in the value of degrees the last couple of decades but this does not prove you right
Same exact situation here in Canada.
Excellent investigation
That whatsapp number / middlemen belongs to an Indian...AND the 'Maths' applied by Indian Students are : (A) put some fund and get enrolled in ANY colleges either in EUROPE / CANADA / AUSTRALIA (B) Once you are there, start working full time & use money to pay ur living expense and loan pay-off in India (C) Get a permanent residency (D) Boast in INDIA about ur great achievement
So they study full time AND work full time to pay for the loan?
@kilambossAC They hardly study. Just enough to pass the exams and in some places where the tuition fee is not high (Public Unis in Germany for example) they can extend their studies for upto 5 years, working menial jobs and earning money. I have had friends who saved a good amount by working in Restaurants. The student Visa is essentially a ticket to get out of the country and get access to the foreign economy.
@rohitpullela2606 Its pretty tough to get a job, if you graduate from a private university.
If you end up with a non-blue card job, it takes around 6 years just to get that PR.
@rohitpullela2606not entirely true. It's hard to find a restaurant jobs without good German knowledge.
But are they allowed to work in Germany with a student visa?
I am from a Balkan country and went to do MSc. in Germany. Ended up dissapointed and moved back home because Germany is so overrated it's unbelievable. (I persisted to complete the nonsense degree btw).
Doichland - $2000, Shvaitz - $7000, Lihtenshtain $4000, Balkan country - $1000
Conclusion: Germany is a semi-Balkan republik.
@julianpetkov8320incomplete comment
Hey I'm going back this Monday as well
I really don’t know who overrated it in the first place. People just come here for the promise of a social state. That’s the overrate let’s be honest. And then shockingly state wants something in return
Overrated how?
Due to unrealistic expectations and limited understanding of the actual situation, many students and job-seeker visa holders end up working in food delivery, drifting away from their original career goals just to meet daily living expenses. I am sharing what I see as the ground reality with those who ask me for suggestion about moving to Germany. Without proper planning and sufficient financial backup, life in a foreign country can quickly become chaotic.
not only in Germany. This goes for all Europe.
Really appreciate the indians who chose to speak up with DW
He‘s not gonna learn the skills he‘s supposed to which will turn into a useless masters degree even if he manages to get one!
the well paid analyst could honestly just return to have well-paid food on the plate
Couldn’t agree more
@Digitalden-ph8ziman even i'm a bit confused in this particular lad's case but i was trying to make a point in general, like most students complete their bachelor's and if they aren't able to find a job, they opt for masters, gor majority its an escape from reality or rather just delaying the reality by a few years in hopes of getting a job after their masters, i mean its a complex socio-economic issue of the country (India) itself.
Its really pathetic to see that a data analyst cannot do analytics of the country he want to work in all by himself.
lol. i was thinking the same too
Look at him and the way he speaks, no common sense.
That is because education in India is not of high-quality, except maybe IITs. So, yeah, a data analyst would be able to do proper analysis.
3:50 just because you went to college doesn’t mean you’re smart folks.
read what i wrote again
unc he already has work experience as data analyst. noone pays salaries for free. you need to have skills and along with that need to solve real world problems. So he has those skills that's why he got that job in India. In india also it's very competitive due to a lot of the graduates being unemployed
@NoelMains read what i wrote again
Correct...many people find it hard to digest...there is no free money in world....only people with right skills at right time at right place survives...if u r are 25 years old, by this time u should have identified ur skills, place where u can get better results....it's not the responsibility of Indian govt or German govt to get u a private job
@mohana12so why did he fail to get the same job in Germany? What is your plan here guys anyway? In Europe competition is even higher, because people here dont just hold meme degrees, they are also educated.
Lol no way this dude gave up a real career in dehli because of instagram ads🤣 he definitely does not have a masters degree
Yeah he’s a fool and crybaby
true lmao
Mate, an indian lady, studied data science with me....she had a career in marketing (15 years), they told her...they would give her a job, the moment she stepped out of the gate at the airport.....she had to extend her visa...went back to India....no job....she was qualified and yet...no job....and we keep hearing on media..." we need more qualified people!" Do we ? Seriously ? Do we ?
I don't trust a word they say..
This is the reality if being a good student in the undeveloped world. You are taken care of by your parents like an infant and you have zero judgement skills, then you want to escape that world, but you are not prepared to live like an adult.
80 euros a day is not a bad salary for unskilled work
@lv1358 for 12 hours and no perks with high tax. Yes it is. Country Economy matter if you live in india ans earn 80 euro then you are earning well
financial analysts who can’t predict finances he’ll be facing 😂
Maybe its just me but he didnt make a sharp impression on me either. is it the 12 hour shifts or are they handing out master degrees like its candy in some places?
@urauilatter
„Financial Analyst“ is Business speaker for Entry ranks of Consulting of every kind. Software, Accounting, Auditing etc. they just call it like that because „junior Consultant“ is like 2 ranks above it already so they need to find fancy names
The eu india trade deal is going to make this worse😂😂
Would you rather keep doing business with Trump?
?
Do you know what that even means
trade deal has nothing to do with migration. it's the india-eu student mobility agreement.
I hope you one day learn to read a trade pact...
Thank you
The same for the gig work with other Job Agencies too.
@tochukwuchiguzorom7934thank you for sharing. Will inform myself more and increase my tips when I can afford 🙏🏻
This is so true
People are not blinded not by reality but by Greed
Indian students should think twice about moving abroad, the reality is quite different. Staying with growing indian economy is the smart move at this moment.
It’s growing only for the rich man. Rupees is 125 per pounds rn. My Indian friends struggle to even sustain themselves in UK.
@Tom-at-O-Puree lol, English-speaking university educated people like this guy in India are not struggling
Here in Montenegro there's Turkish workers on our construction sites in the capital city and on the Adriatic coastline and also doing a delivery jobs...But not for long i guess. EU membership in our near future requires no visa free travel for Turkey.
These delivery operators are unethical and behave the same across Europe; governments have closed their eyes to the exploitation for far too long.
Thank you so much for the video mam, great job
Poland is a mess in itself 😂
@BELLA.CIA0How much of Poland have you seen?
Same in Finland , Wolt system should be banned in Europe.
Rather than banning them, enforce law of non subcontracting or direct employment for low skill labor like Spain did, and boom, problem resolved.
Just don't order delivery. Fastfood already is too expensive, paying extra for delivery is nuts.
When your legal status is not STUDENT, both Wolt and Uber Eats wont give you a job but keep you only the waiting list. Now I know why and whom they are targeting. I will never order again if the restaurant delivers through Wolt or Uber eats.
Same in Norway
Same in Canada
Indians are not exploited because they don't complain and are easily welcome and accepted by explooitters than others...... such are communities where clans and caste system exist.......
Hahaha as if class system in Western countries are any better 😂
I don't know why westerners who don't know what caste is talk about caste system. Caste system is not even a system. To call it a system it has to work or preached top down. Caste is just like trade unions.
Unfortunatelly, this is not only on develivery. It happengs even in consultancy, these subcontractors get a piece of the cake without any risk.
Like consultants have any role in public unis?
I don't understand why students are so guillable to fall for advertisement without researching on their own
These aren’t students. A 25 years old is clearly going out of India to do
These jobs
Anyone who works in the hospitality industry in Germany is being exploited.
Sad reality !
You don't need to use your brain for that, it's the most basic thing in the world and no one is forcing you
This is not the whole story...you need to do more research and in-depth analysis
What is missing ?
Thank you so much for putting it up. Someone is really speaking about it.
For getting in Uber, you gotta pay cash 550euro and then also after getting into it, the amount you make, they will take 30% of your income + tax.
Many Germans in Switzerland work in delivery .
their own fault. who ups and move their life based on ads without doing proper research? unbelievable
The job market is oversaturated all over Europe, especially for entry IT and office jobs. Youth unemployment is at an all time high and there's a rampant housing crisis. Ursula may have invited you here, but there's no space left, Europe is full.
There are jobs everywhere, employers are just looking for "unicorns" or they just don't want to pay
same in Finland
I love Finland can I do delivery there ?
@sanketkotian1914the cold in Finland should make you think twice
@antony6799I’m already in Canada can’t get colder than that 😅
@sanketkotian1914 But the unemployment rate in Finland is worse than in Canada, phd graduates are out here driving taxis and doing delivery jobs, I wouldn’t recommend anyone to move to Finland unless they already have a source of income
@antony6799ohh really I didn’t know that Finland always comes top in the list of happiest countries thought would be a great place to settle
I was working for Wolt as a working student between 2021-2023. Wolt started transitioning to subcontractors around 2022. The change in working conditions was absolutely apparent, even for us that were directly employed by the company. The german government cleary does not want to tackle the problem.
Same here in Canada
Yes...first think a student should do is to gain industrial experience in their field of study and try to improve the skills
I mean go to a good public uni not some random private uni if you are coming to Germany.
Finally someone. Thanks DW for your efforts
It's the same on Australia as well, I would say about 90 percent of uber eats bike riders are indian in Sydney imo, most of them seem to have Masters degrees as well
Even in India most of the delivery drivers are at least graduates, some are even PhDs. Also all of them are Indian.
They come on student visas and then quit and do uber eats 24/7
What gibberish are we talking about, even people with batchelors are doing well in there jobs in IT. Stop genralizing and do some research.. less than 1% of phds are unemployed.. if you have a genuine batchelors degree and normal English you can easily land job and run a mediocre life atleast. It's only the zeal to earn and will power to do something@InternetDisplayofPower
@InternetDisplayofPower In India education at college level is cheap. Another main reason is IT jobs and white collar are overvalued.
Financial analysts in india and abroad are very different. Language requirement is the issue.
Same in Portugal too.
@andsn10 I see. Thank you for explainning
It is way worse than Germany here in Finland.
Thank you DW. We are always happy to hear more about how things in Germany, even if they are not so good.
Yes, DW, please make a video about German women not feeling safe due to increased mass immigration
Im crying dry tears
The most baffling thing to me is the Finanzamt isn't doing more to look into these companies...
Why are people so easily influenced by these adds when they are educated,Indian gov need to put adds to say this is not the dream
