Yes absolutely correct. An autotune entry can defeat one of Hollywood's great singers -Jessie J in Singer 2018. The KZ autotune combined with ballad, k-pop, hip-hop, salsa dancing, and rock and rap not just fast, but superfast and furious shook the audience onstage and 200 million netizens across the planet. KZ emerged winner in Episode 5.

I'm an Aussie old fart, I love to sing, am married to a Filipina grandma, and have lived most of the last five years in Cagayan de Oro, Mindanao. We have a weekly videoke day at home, where we eat, drink and sing along with a male cousin of hers who is my best friend there. Yes, we all sing in English, Tagalog and Cebuano! The Philippines is full of amazing singers, instrumentalists, songwriters and bands. I feel so lucky to be able to enjoy their talents, especially when the songs are in the various Filipino languages. Everyone in the Philippines can be induced to sing, especially after a few alcoholic beverages. Online karaoke apps like StarMaker and WeSing (both of which I have sung on) are full of Filipino singers. It's a hobby and a passion for Filipinos. I suggest that, even though you probably won't understand the language, listen to Freddie Aguilar, Roel Cortez, and also the group Asin, all of whom are classics singing in mainly Tagalog, and modern singers in Cebuano like Ferdinand Aragon and the group Oh! Caraga. I've enjoyed hearing, loving, and singing their songs. All of them can be found on RUclips. I have always had earworms, but these days I have earworms in many different languages! Mabuhay, at ingat ka! Mabuhi, ug amping ka pirmi!

Philippines was and still is a melting pot of cultures. We’ve been a colony of Spain for 333 years, short-lived colonies of UK and Japan, and the ongoing informal one-of-the-51st-states-of-the-USA. We can sing Western songs not just because we are multilinguals but because we understand the context of the songs. That’s why most Filipinos have soul when they sing, it’s because they understand what they are singing.
