@RiskoVinsheen Yes, the Black Knight sequel assumes that Johanna died. At the end of Vengeance, if you play the Save Sister Mission she does live. If you play the other mission to get the weapons and what have you, then when you return from that mission Carl shows you the video of Johanna's dead body and leaves you.
There was just one awesome mision in this game, being the one during which one kills Casey. Very hard to master if the only heavy mech you got is a Hellbringer and you do not even have 2 clan gausses, but just one....
It's been a while since I played it, so I could be wrong. But I think his sister dies anyway in the BK story and Ian becomes the leader or whatever and then turns all dictator like, hence the need to kill him off.
I find the "DOWN WITH THE BLACK KNIGHTS!111!!1" comments pretty damn hilarious seeing as, you know, there -is- an ending wherein the they ally themselves with Davion.
nope he is actually falsely framed for attacks and the deaths of many civilians on Kentares by Steiner to make him appear as a murderous tyrant. also Casey and Jen(fav characters) die in black night by you. so, "no happily ever after" or good ending in the end of vengeance
o_O Funny, *I* never had any trouble mouse&keyboarding my way around a circle-strafe or jinking back and forth to dodge enemy poptarts in any of the MW4 games; though I still look upon *everything* beyond the FIRST MechWarrior video game (done well by Dynamix) to be little more than 'railroad' linear storylines with nothing of the flexibility of the original; both the 'Mercenaries' titles struck me as great ironies.
well IMHO M4 is in many ways for multipayer - the game is faster & more dynamic. I love MW3 for gameplay (intro, sound of mech when it runs, and other things).
Well its because in this game they gave you the bad ending from Vengence, where you let your sister die and instead went to secure the weapons caches. So he was a considered Evil. Should have done something diffrent,.
The reason they cancelled it was cause Microsoft likes to take great simulation games like Mechwarrior and Crimson skies (Mind u, High Road to Revenge was a good game) and make them arcady by taking the customusation away and puttin in power ups. At least a company bought the rights to mechwarrior and crimson skies and they might make MW5, that be awesome
If you're still following this thread, MW5 is now available. Just got it yesterday. Customization, mission choice, simulator-type (not MechAssault) gameplay, pilot rosters, parts salvage, etc are all there. I can't play it enough. I estimate the game will get updated as time goes on, but so far it's pretty solid. Not a bad return from a 20 year hiatus.
@@reform-revolution I took a break from MW5 for other games and they're still updating the game faster than I can play it lol. There's a 4th expansion out already!
Overused, I'm afraid. Don't worry, I found one. A combo of forest and urban camouflage for battles in ruins that have been reclaimed by nature. Spiffy, huh?
I never got to play Black Knight but I got to play Vengeance and Mercenaries... I always saved Ian's sister. If this game is supposed to follow the story of Ian deciding NOT to save his sister... where's the game that follows the good ending?
Mechwarrior 4 and it's expansions were such a let down after MW3. MW4's painfully butchered controls, and I mean butchered, it was a horrendous affair try and aim and move at the same time unless you had a joystick with a hat (something that lacks the accuracy in using a mouse) as well as the actual use of an engine that was INFERIOR to MW3's engine. The only improvements, graphic wise to MW4 was the weapon effects and the explosions.
I don't know, I had mastered the controls by the time I was seven years old. I never played MW3, but I fell in love with MW4 right away. I guess individual experience plays a factor. P.S. Goodness, your comment is old. I'm only just now reading it in 2020, lol.
I played the games back in the day, and I can't say that playing keyboard only was a painful experience, but one you got to master it it was fun. Also there was a program that could emulate a hat joystick from your mouse but you had to spend a lot finding it because it's source for download always changed.
Best. Commercial. Ever.
Cool cinematic treatment. Professional camera pov
they're a mercenary company, just like the Kell Hounds and Wolf's Dragoons (some of the merc companies you can join in Mech4: Mercenaries.)

@spookler I always thought this game was supposed to be an "alternate reality."
It effectively is.
So if im correct, this and the intro is an AD for the black night units? Damn.
Would you like to know more?

@spookler No, you can save her and she becomes ruler while you... I don't know, go off and do something.

@battlespace10 Must be a lucky color! Colors do have distinct metaphysical capabilities.

I didn't mind vaporizing Casey Nolan.
@21boxhead now you're commenting on mechwarrior 4? will your douchiness never end?
What were the mobile canons for again? it has been years sincce i playd this game

@StarcoGAMES Because of the whole narrator thing.
I'm thinking of starting a classic battletech merc group, and I can't figure out what to paint them. Any suggestions?

Best Ads ever in a video ... oh wait it was a full game... oups
Yes
I tried looking it up but couldn't find that backstory.
well IMHO M4 is in many ways for multipayer - the game is faster & more dynamic. I love MW3 for gameplay (intro, sound of mech when it runs, and other things).
tnx
Mechwarrior 4 is fun for multiplayer stuff; loved Mercenaries. Overall I still prefer Mechwarrior 3 ('mechs more realistic and killer campaign).

You should get mercs too when you fix your laptop
(Might wanna spell check, you know.)
Nah. Lurk inside a weedy old building, barely visible, and then ambush the poor saps!
Goes to show it is the 31st century and there is only war...oh wait, wrong series :P
c4167
Right series, wrong chapter.
And how do you get that ending?
The Galactic Empire DEFINITELY needed the Legioneers.

I hate the part when you have to kill your old Lancemates
lol illl do that and gd idea
nope the good ending is when you save her
You misspelled several words. Let me point them out to you. -their, avoid, point, -Steiner, play. - There you go. Enjoy your new spelling adventure.
