I had a Friday night poker game at my apartment from mid-1969 until the summer of 1971. At midnight the local radio station always played Charlie Musselwhite's CHRISTO REDEMPTOR. We knew it was time to order pizza, take a break, and continue playing, sometimes til dawn. I am continually finding more of Charlie to enjoy, like this piece. Thank you, Charlie. R.I.P.
I think you have to call him an international treasure as well. But that's not the reaql point . What a gentleman and great player, of things beyond what you can't learn by pucking your mouth and sucking that blues harp.
@@FUKITOL-z7y As much as I hate to say it, I've mellowed on Charlie over the last 15 years or so. I long for street tough sounds of the early Musselwhite era. Maybe my feelings about this go back to the release of Continental Drifter. As good as Charlie got, and remained, I think back to his days with Barry Goldberg, Walter Horton and others that remind us of what Chicago blues was about. That being said, "Please Remember Me" is one hell of a good tune.
met Charlie in the Golden Bear, Huntington Beach ca.He just sat down and we started talkin,' what a soulful guy. those where really ''the good ole' days'' of blues in California
@@jimbrown5552If he plays 2nd position, it could as well be an A one? Or am I wrong? I do a lot of harping myself, rarely worrying about theory, I just listen, which one matches, and off I go. Charlie Musselwhite my altime favourite! ❤

I went down one long lonesome road, I'll never be the same again.
Watching from Ireland Ireland
Back in the day Charlie looked like a hit man, these days he seems like the most mellow man
on earth. He's a national treasure.
