A great match. Sun showed why she's world number 1, and Hayata played her heart out. In the end it wasn't that close, but after all the points where she successfully made desperation shots to extend rallies she was losing you can only applaud. Yoku ganbatta.

I feel like they both enjoyed that :) It was such a satisfying watch! Brilliant match by two great players. Love how Hayata at times has a beaming smile after a fun rally even if she's lost the point. 15:43 Hayata's face in the background 😄

@@云岩-y7lme? I love playing people who are better than me. So long as I feel I’ve played well and have given them a good game, like Hayata did here, I would be charged with the joy of table tennis, even if I lost.

Unfortunately, it seems that Hayata's wry smile comes from the surreal feeling of knowing that however well she's playing Sun just has her number. Maybe it's a coping mechanism to not beat herself up too much when losing a point. it's interesting to see the contrasting styles and I especially like the Japanese players expressions and personalities.

@@benchan2639 I’m sure there’s an element of that. I’m surprised though that it seems like such an outlandish notion to many people that you may still experience a high from playing a great rally even if you lost the point. I remember an interview with Miu Hirano when she was asked about her favourite moment playing in the Chinese super league. She said a match with Wang Manyu. The interviewer asked if she won. She said she’d lost but that she was impressed with how strong Manyu was. I personally don’t find that unrelatable at all.

Fantastic match. Both had a great performance, some of the most stunning acts in the game, and Hina almost made it. If she had done it, I would not hesitate to congratulate her, from a Chinese. Congrats to Shasha.

    最后两局莎莎的注意力的集中程度和前三局不是一个等级的,越是残血莎莎越能爆发惊人的战斗力

It is interesting to see Hayata expressing joy anger or frustration and on the other side a T800 without feelings programmed to win

Hayata is just so wonderfully expressive :) Yet I see all sorts of things from Shasha as well. It’s more subtle, but she doesn’t strike me as robotic. I think she’s a cool person :)

Shows how putting all emphasis on the score narrows consciousness extremely. What from one perspective was a beautiful, fun game, so deep and rich with interesting things to enjoy, from another perspective is nothing but a crushing defeat.

Hayata's problem is softness. I see it in so many games she is leaving her opponents open shots. she should learn to demolish your opponent from the beginning of the match to it's end. to take your spot as a real champion!

@@glenn7484 agree. But i still feel like Hayata left her so many opening shots. maybe it's her soft heart to blame. she should play more aggresive and ruthless. that's the only way to win 😡

@@UUSER142 haha I hear you. I’m sure they’ll be analysing the match and taking lessons from it. Would be great if she can still grow further, and I wouldn’t be surprised if she did! I’d hesitate to interfere in her process though, as I think she’s got a good thing going on :) also encouraging if you take into account how Wang Ydi and Wang Manyu fared against Shasha in the semi and the final 😁
