    Please make sure to add a fail over jack under the car in case your quick jack fails. At the very least, add some tires underneath the car. I’d also consider providing people with the proper bolt torque specs.

      The quick jack doesn't stay lifted under hydraulic pressure, it's only for the initial lift itself. It locks like a jackstand, so it's no less safe than a jack stand once secured. IANAL

      This is the VB R160. I was curious about it and was digging to find info online when I came across this video. My old Impreza had a VA that looks like any other r160 with the drain and fill on the cover. I think they had this same diff on a few models through the years like the Tribeca and older Outbacks, though currently they are just on the 6 speed Crosstrek and the WRX from what I can find. The fins on the cover are a nice touch.

    Just hit 3k miles on my car. Glad I watched this video! Going to drain OEM fluid and replace with the Motul before I install my Perrin turbo inlet hose, AEM CAI, ETS charge pipe & flash the ECU. Do you think I’d be good with 4L? Other information I’ve read said the tranny was full with only 3Q…. Also got some Mishimoto silicone radiator hoses as well.

    Better to use 75w80 in the transmission/front diff. It’s the preferred fluid listed in the owners manual. It says you can use 75w90 but it might affect drivability and fuel efficiency.

    • @JoeyMontalto
      @JoeyMontalto 7 месяцев назад +1

      They have 75w90 for like all wrx models. They changed to a lighter 75w80 for fuel efficiently and same with the oil. All years were 5w30. Now they changed to a lighter/thinner 0w20... For gas mileage. As for me I like the added protection the slightly thicker gear oil or engine oil gives me with the trade off of about 1 MPG.
