    Picture perfect from Tainan. It was an EXACT step by step Buchecha armbar from mount. He slowed down just a little to cook and drain him but every part of it was perfect. Watch Buchecha’s tutorial

      Tainan is probably ducking Mica and the ruotolo brothers for now. In Gi it’s very competitive for Tainan but he has a high chance of winning. No-GI I don’t think he can beat mica or ruotolo brother because they’re so much more fast paced and are always attacking submissions while Tainan is more methodical and I have to say that Mica’s wrestling looks absolutely fantastic

      @@RichardYu1983 that's fair. But it is the truth. You have the number one ranked grappler in the gi, whos not going to magically lose his ability when takes the gi off. He needed at least someone who was in the same echelon as a accomplished grappler.

      Troy Russel knows who Tainan is and did the prep to try and get the win. He stepped up when others didn't. I'm a hobbyist competitor and know the grind of even just getting out for a local competition. It sucks to do the immense prep only to get beat. We can't always get the win -- especially against guys who are world champs.@@rollmodelbjj

    AOJ does NOT have wrestling classes, and the Mendes brothers both are Gi-centric guard pullers historically. You can't (or at least) shouldn't teach an area of grappling you're not very proficient in. Given that they generally start with talents at such a young age, they should introduce wrestling into their curriculum. Their practical take on wrestling is that it's not unimportant, and you should learn it on your own. Apart from this glaring deficiency, I'd say it's the #1 BJJ incubator gym in the world, particularly for the "smaller" athletes.

  • @bmxrider8188
    @bmxrider8188 Год назад +1

    Tainans stand up is so bad, I mean AOJ should totally reevaluate their stand-up teaching. Other than O-pullo-guarde poor kid hads zero stand-up. And his opponent... who is this guy, was there anyone lower level the champ could find?!?!? AOJ will never make a ADCC champion because wrestling is not in the Mendes skill set. I feel bad for Tainan, weird the ex gi-champ is so behind sem kimono
