I'm lazy, so, here's a rough sketch of the character for Ippo:
Ippo used to be a hippo, until he, somehow, turn into a human as an experiment. He decided his new life in boxing, since he fought alot before as a hippo.
(Simple as that)

Just remind that you can frontdash straight to the opponent. Could be punished but it works well
Personally I like charge more, the ability is easier to use and does about the same damage as ippo
