I love characters who are most associated with Mask Persona stuff writing. This makes character more enigma or mysterious. They can be kindness , sweet but that’s their Mask not THEM. They hide their Actual persona with the mask . These type of characters have great acting abilities like Crying on command etc. These type of character can easily detach themselves so that they can become another but if they continue this further they will forget their origin so someone must be there who must remember them of who they are . Character with Mask are usually Dark.
This is why aeon being the literal celestial god of a very specific concept is the best idea ever from HSR writing team! Sparkle is one of the many perfect result (well-written character) that we got from them!
I thought madoka magica has a lot of artstyles, especially the witches. Also this was inspired A LOT of a dark AMV ( 1:26 ). If you're talking about Magia Record (spinoff) it closely resembles of rumors in the anime.
I just noticed that there are 3 different masks in this trailer: -Full red (the crazy looking Sparkle - Actress #1) -Full white (the calmer Sparkle - Actress #2) -Half red, half white (the Sparkle we know - the real, fullest Sparkle perhaps - the Director/Script Writer) -No mask (the scaredy, timid, soul-less Sparkle - the Extras) Also, at the end (before "the Director" appear), the red Sparkle's eyes have sakura shape instead of butterfly. Plus, the ordinary Sparkle (long hair) in the other trailer doesn't have any symbol in her eyes until later after she got the mask.
If Sparkle put more effort into learning and mimicing the mannerisms of whoever she copies, she'd be terrifying. Good thing she's just to good at acting 'Sparkley'.
Because most people associate Persona 3 with the act of facing death through the act of a character "shooting themself" and thus it became a reference in video game. (Plus the glowing eyes and the expression are even more reminiscing of the game)

I actually agree, what you dont understand is that in recent media, Persona 3 is the most famous exemple of this action with it being used during the entire game and that's why it is probably indeed a reference. (Plus the gun is only really shown in the trailer and with Persona 3 Reload right around the corner at that time AND the recent comeback of the Persona serie that's the only direction it points towards) I'm not arguing with what you said I'm just giving you an answer as to why people reacted like this to the trailer so no need to act like that "buddy"
people are saying persona i say this character reminds me and a complete copy cat of the character from date a live which i forgot her name but she does the same thing sparkle does and dress the same and the hair style to. But the version from date a live is more darker.
