Hi Joe! What's always missing with suture and staple kits is lidocaine. Getting your skin puncture several times would put some people in shock. Find a resource for lidocaine and some hypodermic needles. That's what I have in my kit anyway.
@@Gmar69 I was thinking about that.. yeah I’ll definitely look into that, I suppose it would be hard to get.. I was considering just keeping a bunch of booze on hand to act as an anesthesia for dealing with stuff like that.. 😅anyways , thanks for watching!
You can pickup lidocaine, up to 5% most places in the U.S. It is a good things to keep on hand in general. I would say if someone needs sutures or skin staples, they are already in a lot of pain, so a little more isn't going to be an issue. In trauma situations I have seen adults & children needing them not care all that much when it's being rendered. I would recommend to keep an antiseptic spray or powder and disposable Iodine swabs in your med bag for when applying staples or sutures. Give the wound and consumables a spray or dose and get to work, end with a bit more antiseptic powder or spray, and bandaging.
Hey man, I’m a firefighter EMT from France and I’ve gotten into the prepper world pretty recently. I just love how everyone tries to help each other in these videos and I wanted to share my own experience on it. First of all try to always have 2 tourniquets and 2 Israelis that’s the bare minimum, you could add compressed gauze as well (not the haemostatic version because the added effect doesn’t justify the cost, it’s pressure that does most of the work). Try to buy an additional Israeli bandage to get training, it can be tricky to apply in emergency situations. Another thing I think you should stock up on is ABD pads. 5x9 ones are great, they can stop lots of different bleeds and really are the go to solution in our ambulances. Whilst we carry military grade trauma supplies, ABD pads work good enough in almost all situations. However, you really need to get a lot of them because they run out pretty fast. I used 9 of them just for one victim of a motorcycle accident. Another thing you really need to have a lot of is gauze, normal pads and rolls, not only for bleeding control but for prolonged care. The key in SHTF medical is to avoid infections, so I would advise to get a lot of disinfectant, I use a Chlorexidine Digluconate solution. If you want to get more intel on the prolonged field care system, you should check the PFC podcast on RUclips!! Sorry for the very long paragraph, wish you the best!! Tell me if you have any questions regarding this topic

That’s a great bag and and awesome video. I love the compartmentalization available. Probably the only addition I would include is to put at least one set of protective gloves in each compartment to eliminate having to open the “boo-boo kit” section first before using any other compartment. Again, great video!
So I've been using that pack since 2019 as an actove combat medic and in reserves. I got mine originaoy from Amazon and the pack you have looks very similar but definitely a little less quality materials. For the price though it looks great. Couple of tips I can give you that i found helpful. The top pouch that you had for trauma I use for diagnostics (BP cuff, stethescope, pupil dialator, pulse oximiter, thermometer, sam splint fits great there) The red handled pouch I use for trauma extras (main trauma items are on my plate carrier). I also make sure that it is always the top one in the bag so someone can zip open partially and see it to pull it out. The brown leukoplast tape you get from drug stores are great for labeling the pouches with what is in each one. I.e. Trauma, Bangaging + Airway, IV (thats how mine is set up). And incase you didnt know the top pouch of the pack has 3 elactic loops that can hold AR mags 😁
Great video I’m working on a similar kit myself right now. Like you said reach out to people in the medical field if you know anyone because they can get just about anything you need to put in a kit most times for free. My wife works in a surgical clinic and she is always bringing stuff home from the office that is according to the government out of date and they are supposed to throw it away but I get it.
4 percent lidocaine topical and a 5 leather straps. 4 leather straps to tie the f=-=[er down and the 5th in his month to cut down on the screaming. Damn good video

Good starter kit. Personally i wouldn't set it up differently, but im sure theres a million people who would say that. LoL. Have your family in the medical field help you set it up a little, just to make the flow of use go a little easier. Great video keep up the good work moving forward.
Let me start by saying I love your channel and your videos !!! However, Temu and Shien are Chinese based companies and we are doing nothing but funding the Chinese when we buy from them. Totally understand that they are cheaper but as you say, sometimes you get what you pay for with them . Please be cautious and try to buy American when you can.
@@Jeffande2012 is it really that much different to buy from Amazon Walmart target dollar tree etc… all the products from those companies are made in china.. you’re just paying someone else extra to buy it from china?
I can see your point however these companies are all US based and owned. Temu and Shien are not !!! Do these other outlets sell products from China, yes I’m sure they do however you can see county of origin on most products and steer clear of Chinese made. I would rather pay a bit more rather than help China own us and become more of a world power. Thanks for the channel and the information you share. We can agree to disagree 😊
@@Jeffande2012 I appreciate your support of my channel however.. you do know that all the companies that Walmart target Amazon etc. are buying their products from are Chinese based?? If anything it’s worse to support American based companies that are selling Chinese products because it’s creating a psychological disconnect with the American who’s purchasing the Chinese made products.. if it weren’t for Amazon and Walmart china would be practically irrelevant.. I actually searched for a medical backpack made in America and couldn’t find a single one.. and even if you do find one that’s made here it’s way beyond the average person’s budget.. I completely agree with your position on buying American when you can.. I actually make and sell products which are 100% American made at a very reasonable price. I personally think that it is far more unethical to buy from china, jack up the price and sell it to my fellow American who believes he’s buying American because I branded it with an American sounding name.. I could give you lots of examples of this.. my bugout bag is made by eberlestock, I paid $400 for it because they said they were an American company, come to find out all their products are made in Asia.. to me that is beyond despicable! I think we’re going to have to agree to disagree on this one.. but in my opinion this seems like a which is worse argument, the drug dealer or the drug maker.. I don’t really see a winner?? Thanks for watching!
You should consider adding a few Celox, or other trusted brand, blood clotting granule plunger applicators to your trauma / punctures kit. Also, you should carry more than one high quality tourniquet, 3 is a minimum. Avoid cheep-o's as it could be your life depending on it, or the life of someone you love. Not all tourniquets are made or work equally. I would also add vented chest seals, maybe HyFin, SAM, or Sentinel brands not the cheap crap, they are a must have for bullet / knife holes to the neck, chest, or stomach and can help buy you more time to get the injured to proper medical treatment, and off course proper training is needed to know when and when not to use chest seals.
