olivia grew up being influenced by a variety of genre she genuinely has such a versatile taste, and she wanted her debut album to showcase those musical roots. so yes, we are in for a ride with SOUR!

liv said in an interview that all of the songs on the album are about various types of relationships that “went sour” - romantic, her relationship with herself, situations her friends have been in, etc. she also said that while the root inspo for her songs stems from her personal life/experience she also uses a lot of imagination to craft the narratives so it’s not a literal play by play of her life
I don’t understand how people don’t get this and say everything she writes is about Joshua. Like, she’s an amazing songwriter she knows how to make it look like it’s her personal experience but it might not be! And who cares if all her songs about a guy they’re her songs and her words!

I feel like many people are a little jealous at this point, bc how can you not be? As you said she's fucking doing it again, she's doing various genres, the lyrics are always perfect and the storytelling through the singles so far (feeling after breakup) is amazing 🤌
