I really appreciate Christopher Nolan's determination to require a viewer to actually think about what they are watching. That's less common these days.
Nolan is simply a genius, even if you don't like his movies there is no denying that the guy's very clever, especially when it comes to the writing. His choices of cast and crew like Hans Zimmer aren't that bad either.
@henry hallie Yeah? Going by the same reasoning then how about paprika (anime film) ripping off from the cell’s idea, A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (earlier than paprika novel just so you know) and dreamscape (even earlier than dream warriors and paprika novel). Investigate before mentioning things as if you have the “truth”. There’s not a completely original idea but there are very different ways in which you can present it while also having an original approach to a concept. Also, sometimes people can think of something similar somewhere else and they don’t even know of the existence of it. And Nolan was working on inception since 2001 and add to it that he also wanted to explore dreams on film since he was 15 years if I’m not mistaken. Sorry to burst your little bubble.
@kamssun Then why is it called A Clockwork Orange? There are no oranges in it, and nothing that is clockwork, let alone a 'clockwork orange'. Platoon is about a platoon. Toy Story is a story about toys. Citizen Kane is about a citizen called Kane, and Vertigo is about a man who suffers from Acrophobia, a symptom is which is vertigo. The Title is misleading, pretentious and frankly insulting to the viewer. The film contains nothing but confused and morally suspect images that mean nothing.
@RussiaRulesGermany wtf are you talking about? I bet you would complain at a five star restaurant. The emotion in this movie lied with Leonardo DiCaprio and he delivered. If you're one of those Twilight fans who wanted a freaking love story on top of everything else then I don't know what to tell you. Emotionally, Cameron is far ahead of Nolan? Yeah like Avatar was such a deep movie. This movie ate Avatar for breakfast. The only director who might be better than Nolan is Scorsese.
yeah, but at the end of the day, oranges are not the only fruit, so why choose an orange. It makes no sense, even if Alex were as you say and conceptualised as a modern man then his traits would maych more fruitfully with a pomme de terre (as the french say) or should I say an apple of the earth as he is salt of the earth combined with sweet respect for noone.
@nameless12345 ... I agree. Taking on the Batman franchise sort of diminishes him. I dont know why in the hell he would take on the Superman franchise...if he does anything with that ... i'd really be amazed. I dont think he'll ever really top Inception. But thats the challenge, isnt it?

This man has captured my dreams and my heart!
Lol acting so big after stealing from paprika
I really appreciate Christopher Nolan's determination to require a viewer to actually think about what they are watching. That's less common these days.
Nolan is simply a genius, even if you don't like his movies there is no denying that the guy's very clever, especially when it comes to the writing. His choices of cast and crew like Hans Zimmer aren't that bad either.
@stateofwhatthefuck well considering he has only had 3 ideas that were purely his own . i doubt we will see anything as amazing as that anytime soon
Papurika
paprika
Fucking Nolan just stole ideas from paprika and create his own version!!!!
Lil Dagger ImHe clearly doesn’t
Christopher and Jonathan Nolan. Best minds in Hollywood
Why are people who think Nolan is overrated actively seeking out his interviews to call him overrated, bit sad isn't it?
As if you didn't ask him about the ending, I know he wouldn't of answered it but you at least had to ask him.
PAPRIKA ?
@0124463792 He wasn't really in a level. He was in Limbo i.e Uncontructed Dream Space. You die at anylevel while sedated you get lost in limbo as you can't wake up before the sedative wear out and it willl take forever for the sedative to wear out.
@vinay1103 bro its not like that , the ques. was understandable and reflecting the mind of CN . altho it could get better but lets take it simple coz its just an interview ... lol and har koi indians ki tarah nai sochta na ..right ?
I hope he has nightmares where Satoshi Kon's spirit haunts him for stealing half of his great Paprika and making this abomination. I lost all respect for him when i saw this junk that all idiots are rating so high.
Stop crying because someone doesn't like the same movies as you. Get over yourself man, don't take this shit so seriously. That's the problem I have with the Batman nerds, taking the whole thing way too seriously.
@CorsetGirl91 Most of the greatest director's adapt other people's material. You must be terribly dim if you don't realise that. Don't forget that Inception (his best film) is an original idea dreamed up by the man himself.
@Hsmontoya Christopher doesn't need to be Stanley Kubrick or Martin scorsese. Just give him a time, and you will see Martin scorsese being defeated by Christopher. The Man is a Class in Himself :)
Punjabi house thappi vanna malayalis indo ??
If only Bladerunner was being made today... Like this if you think this guy would be amazing at that. Ridley Scott did an amazing job, but this guy could really make it something special
One of the best thriller directors out there. Fuck the wannabe douchebags like Rob Zombie and Eli Roth. This guy is the future of filmmaking.
He is the Alfred Hitchcock of our time.
I am so harsh and full of anger because everyone thinks he is a genius, while he is just a thief that steals great ideas from not so well known people. That is disgusting.
all right.. SO PLEASE DON"T TAKE THIS SHIT TOO SERIOUSLY AND GET THE FUCK OUT OF THIS PAGE IF U DON'T LIKE IT ! U ONLY VISIT PAGE THAT U LIKE NOT THE PAGE U DON'T LIKE !
