Hey, Calvin. Thanks for all your content, a true lord of the gym. I decided to start mastering Vladimir myself, but I've got a huge problem: dealing with tanks. What should I do, if there are like two tanks in the enemy lobby that are ahead and are stacking MR (for example, a Zac and a bloody Nasus)? What should I even build (the Void Staff does not help much)? I mean, I know that mages generally suck against tanks, but it has been a new level of despair with Vlad. I hope you'll find some time to answer and wish you to finally hit Challenger in Korea. You deserve it more than anyone:))
you need to be ahead enough that you can 1 tap the other 3 people and deal with the tank as a team, tanks in general lose in a static 1 vs 1 against vlad in a side lane, but that doesn't mean anything if you let yourself be baited in taking a 5 minute fight with a sustain monster, while their team collapses on you.
Usually When enemy has 2 tanks Its good to take conq.
I usually run conqeuror rune then riftmaker+shadowflame in my items when dealing with 2-3 tank comp
While mages kinda suck against tanks, Vlad (and other battlemages but especially Vlad) has a special relationship with tanks. Usually tank-busting champions are identified by high sustained damage, % damage and/or true damage. Vlad has neither of these (maybe sustained dmg but not at the rate of someone like Cassiopeia), but there's one other thing that helps against tanks: insane sustain.
If you've played top against a tank matchup you probably realised you get to a CDR threshold where you can soak all the tank's damage and heal back up with emp Q. That's the key to handling tanks with Vlad. You don't mow them down with %dmg and things like that, you just dodge as much as you can while sustaining back up. So for early items CDR is insane against tanks, but at a certain point you can get so much AP you literally use the tanks as life batteries (especially with ghost when you can dance around them), that's when you get voidstaff and finish them. Going for mpen without high cdr or high ap when you're the only damage dealer will make you not able to beat neither squishies nor tanks.
Chances are if you play Vlad you may be the only hope in diving the squishies, so you can prioritize farm and pure damage items then just kill the backline, after that the tanks will do too little damage to handle you and your team (unless they're something like insanely fed ornn and zac XD).
TL;DR Vlad actually kinda counter tanks, through sustain. Try to dodge as many of their skills as you can while keeping them at your max E/Q range. Alternatively, go full damage and dive their squishies then the tanks will just be cleanup. You don't need any special runes as Vlad's innate sustain is good enough, but phase rush (for kiting) or conqueror will give you an advantage

ive hired a yakuza hitman to stand just out of frame with a rifle aimed directly at his head. if he ever plays for fun or loses 5 or more games in a row the goon will start ripping teeth. if he drops more than 125 lp in one day he will shoot him
I like Elite and I watch a lot of his videos. He HAS to dramatize and exaggerate every single moment. Like at 7:45. He hits 3 abilities and "zones" the 1/4 Kindred while Talon and Samira carry the fight. What does Elite say right after? "Holy shit man I'm doing so much without, like, using flash or ult. (My) fucking impact." Dude is an insane player. Tons of game knowledge and mechanical ability but he can be cringy at times.
