Just got home from wading at Surfside with Mirrow Lures & Spec Rigs. 2 man Limited out on 18" to 22" Specs!
No wind & the water was Chrystal clear..
Heading back at daylight in morning.

Hey, lot of empty space on the beginning of the jetty. Is because the deepest waters are at the end? Do you know?
Yeah water on the surfside is shallow like 5-6 foot. When you go farther down it goes to 10-15, all the way to the end is like 25-30 foot if high tide.

Sandtrout, Flounder, Bullreds & Gaftop at the Mouth of Brazos. Caught 16 Sandies on spec rigs & 8 flounders 2 men on finger mullet & Spec Rigs.
Bait is thick down there, tons of mullet & Shad

Headed out yesterday to Surfside to wade for Specs but it was too rough. Then the State issued a "Bacteria Warning" all along CR 257 which is the road (Blue Water Highway & X-Mas Bay, between Surfside TX & San Luis Pass.
So we hit the Mouth of Brazos & caught a ton of shark & a 30" Big Ugly, just a tad too large for the CCA Star Tournament or I would've won a boat! Crap!
Don't forget you gotta pay the $25 entry fee & $35 CCA Membership Fee to eligible to win in the Star Tournament which ends Sept. 5th. Can't keep a tagged Red. Gotta takes pics, etc. Read the rules closely
