I prefer his and Shirley Walker’s over either of Zimmer’s Batman themes. Mostly because that’s just more my thing, plus the Tim Burton Batman owns that theme. This one owns this theme, if you put Elfman’s theme in the Nolan movies, it wouldn’t work.

I'm really skeptical of the new Batman with Robert Pattinson. Christopher Nolan, Christian Bale, and Heath Ledger did a great job, and of course the music by Hans Zimmer adds to the greatness. I guess we'll see.

The "Decision" segment is one of the most beautifully balanced pieces of music I think I've ever heard. So perfectly reflected by Liam Neeson's voiceover in the film. It contrasts Ra's arrogance, his belief that he has created the ultimate tool, with the reality that Bruce has discovered his own resolve. The piece itself is so moving, calming, yet mentally empowering all at once. It is a brief, but unforgettable piece of cinematic mastery. Most recent film production crews should drop the sledgehammers and start taking notes!
sofiyan ali I feel it’s overrated. Ledger was great but the movie is slow and dare I say boring at times. The last third is where it loses it for me. The handling of two face doesn’t quite work. It’s like they are putting too much story into one movie. I also find the dark knight too cold. Begins and Rises have more heart to them.

See this is why I respect musical composers like Hans Zimmer, because he knew the music had to fit this Batman that works in this Gotham City which is supposed to be more realistic and serious than all the others. This Batman didn't acted like some supernatural brooding freak, but more like a high tech super ninja. This Joker wasn't some goofy homicidal clown that fell in toxic chemicals, but an actual nutcase terrorist that wore face paint. This Scarecrow wasn't some crazy guy who thought he was an actual scarecrow, but a corrupted doctor who does undercover evil experiments for other criminals. This Catwoman wasn't some silly grown woman that acted like a cat because she had actual catlike powers, but was more like a regular skilled jewel thief that came off as a former spy agent . This Bane wasn't a former pro wrestler that became some mindless bio freak injected with stuff that made him more stronger, but just a natural big and strong, but a very smart and skilled masked tough madman. This Two Face/Harvey Dent wasn't the same guy with a messed up face that quickly became a crazy criminal, but was a victim of The Joker's crazy crime sprees and Batman's mistake, thus making him vengeful. Han Zimmer had to realize that this isn't the same Gotham City that Danny Elfman worked with, and he delivered
The amazing thing about this movie is that all of Batman's possessions have a practical use. Best example is the cape. While it would look cool in animated series or comics, in films it just doesnt look good unless there is a real reason for it to exist. Probably the only useless thing is the bat symbol on his chest, which isnt shown in yellow like the cartoons. Its subtle and you have to really pay a lot of attention when the suit is shown at a glance. Shows how much the people who made this trilogy of films cared about their product. And here we have Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey just throwing money and reputation down the gutter.
In the comics all of Batman's things have a practical use as well. The cape makes him appear more monstrous in the shadows and gives the illusion of a bigger target, causing enemies to panic as their bullets seemingly pass through him (as they'd only be hitting the cape). It also works to break his fall and even to glide short distances, like it does in the Nolan movies. The reason the Bat symbol is so obvious is because it looks like a more enticing target than his face, but that point is where the body armor is at its strongest. Aside from the bat look, the ears in the cowl hide communication devices and remote uplinks he can use to stay in contact with Alfred, Oracle, Robin or the Batcomputer. The only thing that serves no purpose is the trunks, but that's the same with Superman.

sofiyan ali I feel it’s overrated. Ledger was great but the movie is slow and dare I say boring at times. The last third is where it loses it for me. The handling of two face doesn’t quite work. It’s like they are putting too much story into one movie. I also find the dark knight too cold. Begins and Rises have more heart to them.

See this is why I respect musical composers like Hans Zimmer, because he knew the music had to fit this Batman that works in this Gotham City which is supposed to be more realistic and serious than all the others. This Batman didn't acted like some supernatural brooding freak, but more like a high tech super ninja. This Joker wasn't some goofy homicidal clown that fell in toxic chemicals, but an actual nutcase terrorist that wore face paint. This Scarecrow wasn't some crazy guy who thought he was an actual scarecrow, but a corrupted doctor who does undercover evil experiments for other criminals. This Catwoman wasn't some silly grown woman that acted like a cat because she had actual catlike powers, but was more like a regular skilled jewel thief that came off as a former spy agent . This Bane wasn't a former pro wrestler that became some mindless bio freak injected with stuff that made him more stronger, but just a natural big and strong, but a very smart and skilled masked tough madman. This Two Face/Harvey Dent wasn't the same guy with a messed up face that quickly became a crazy criminal, but was a victim of The Joker's crazy crime sprees and Batman's mistake, thus making him vengeful. Han Zimmer had to realize that this isn't the same Gotham City that Danny Elfman worked with, and he delivered

The amazing thing about this movie is that all of Batman's possessions have a practical use. Best example is the cape. While it would look cool in animated series or comics, in films it just doesnt look good unless there is a real reason for it to exist. Probably the only useless thing is the bat symbol on his chest, which isnt shown in yellow like the cartoons. Its subtle and you have to really pay a lot of attention when the suit is shown at a glance. Shows how much the people who made this trilogy of films cared about their product. And here we have Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey just throwing money and reputation down the gutter.
In the comics all of Batman's things have a practical use as well. The cape makes him appear more monstrous in the shadows and gives the illusion of a bigger target, causing enemies to panic as their bullets seemingly pass through him (as they'd only be hitting the cape). It also works to break his fall and even to glide short distances, like it does in the Nolan movies. The reason the Bat symbol is so obvious is because it looks like a more enticing target than his face, but that point is where the body armor is at its strongest. Aside from the bat look, the ears in the cowl hide communication devices and remote uplinks he can use to stay in contact with Alfred, Oracle, Robin or the Batcomputer. The only thing that serves no purpose is the trunks, but that's the same with Superman.
