Gyoro Gyoro's Theme is used so appropriately in Patapon. It's such a good song that does its job perfectly It paints a vivid picture: A book lays near completion on the author's desk. The only thing remaining is the closing chapter: the final battle, the battle between good and evil, light and dark, a battle that if won means peace and prosperity for generations, but if lost means the world will be shrouded in darkness and every good thing will be destroyed. A battle where the Patapons bravely fight this ancient evil, fueled by adrenaline and steely determination. Whether the Almighty wins decides the conclusion of the final movement. It's structured so well. The instrumentation, notation, and flow are all perfect. The unnerving intro is something straight out of a horror film. It lays the groundwork for the entirety of the piece. The bold snare drums with the electric hi-hat and the ominous ringing, echoing sound effect, and bass drum make you feel nothing but a deep suspense. Building up to fever is an intense ride. Once you reach the part where the Fever Worm starts to bop its head, the transition measure's ominous strings mixed with the same horror sound of the intro worsens the feeling of dread and suspense. As you reach fever, the layers get even more epic. The blend of it all works so well. Finally you reach fever. The transition measure with the strings and an organ is what marks the beginning of the end. The low strings and bass mixed with the frantic higher strings over the drums and sound effects portrays nothing but a feeling of intensity, the start of an adrenaline rush. The addition of timpani makes it even more epic. The chorus is intense. The addition of what sounds like an organ to the strings' chords adds even more of an intense, final battle feel to it. The underlying staccatoed synth bass and the added timpani is probably the coolest part of the chorus. The second verse is just like the first when you reach fever. Same intense frantic high strings, ominous low strings, timpani, and per drumms and effects from the buildup still remain. The smooth slide into the bridge is fantastic. The bridge goes off of the same chords as the chorus, but with violent stabs from the strings, brass, and synth bass mixed with the epic tympani over the iconic snares, electric hi-hat, and echoey sound effect is nothing short of an amazing conclusion to the song, to which it loops back to the first verse with a nice cymbal roll. My analysis of Gyoro Gyoro's Theme is complete. Thank you, _once again_, for this instrumental! P.S. _I do hope that you find a way to do the instrumentals without all the hoops to jump through as you mentioned in another comment. You do a fantastic job._
Hey, I actually did find a way! With 50 hours of coding and disassembly work, I managed to create a prototype player for LBRT (Patapon 1/2 audio) files. Although it's still unfinished (lacks few sound manipulation functions) you somewhat listen to the themes, some work perfect, and some are still a bit wonky. Here you can check a preview of the tool: ruclips.net/video/uBMp1x8ifTM/видео.html When I'm done I'll upload full instrumentals the way they were created. Hey Whazzat has about 40 seconds of audio that is never played in the game and never heard by anyone. ;)
owocek Oh, cool! I’m glad you got a hold on how to do it without going through tons of hoops (even though you went through tons already to figure it out). I really hope to see more high-quality instrumentals soon! Also.... _What?_ Really? There’s unused audio in Hey Whazzat?! I’m really excited to hear this! I’m so glad you managed to find some hidden content! I love the Patapon community
@@black.baron_angel This tool only requires to drag the bgm file onto it, so no additional work required ^^ Yeah, there is a lot hidden in the music files that was never played in the game. I believe Hey Whazzat is not the only theme, we'll hear them all once I finish the tool and start uploading :)
It is criminal you forgot to mention the fact that the second half of the chorus calls back to the song that plays during your first meetup with Hatapon and the Yaripons Since this was originally Final Boss music for Patapon 1 it made perfect sense for this track to reference the very beginning of your journey building up to the end
Ok so this is good and all, and I love both versions with and without Patapons, and while the rest are also cool without them, I wonder, I would have loved to have also a version with Patapons on the other Instrumentals you uploaded, would love them even more than I already do tho
Kurde to tło kojarzy mi się z 3 misjami. Walka z tym płonącym kurakiem Walka z Beetletonem (najgorsza misja w całej grze) oraz Walka z ewolucją tego demona jako finałowego bossa z 1nki ; P
This is amazing! You won a new sub! Oh, and by the way, is it possible for you to release the Hey Whazzat, Pokkurimakka and Zunzunzun themes? Those 3 are my favourite themes from Patapon 2 and I'd love to hear the instrumentals.
Thanks ^^ Of course! I like your suggestion because Hey Whazzat and Pokkurimakka are my favourites. After I figure out which video format for themes I'm going to use, I will make instrumentals for them and upload here.
Well, that's third attempt to leave a comment... Have you found files with on-level music? I probably failed. Or maybe... Have you only deleted some part of memory?
I specified the process I've done in the description. BGM files are inside of mission files ( DATA_CMN.BND/actor/mission/mission_xxxxx.bnd/missiondata.bnd/bgm.dat/ ). I removed the header for ptp_btl_bgm008_voice.sgd file, which contains all the commands. Then I manually got rid of unnecessary SFX from kaesi_1_1.sgd by putting a VAG ending sequence block (00 07 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77 77) before these certain SFX start, which effectively disabled them in-game. Then I simply repacked everything to the original archives and run the game and recorded it. :)
