Might sound strange, but I tune the 4 lowest strings of my guitar in this manner and use the lowest strings (D and A) as a drone. Sometimes, I simply strum the open D Major chord and press the body of the guitar against my chest to feel the resonance.
That's interesting! I'm a guitarist too and often explore open tunings and enjoy the resonance. If the guitar is in tune with this track and the volume is loud enough you'll probably experience quite obvious sympathetic resonance within the guitar.
