I always love attention to detail. The S1 class were always really slow starters irl due to a lot of wheel slip and weight distribution issues, meaning traction was always an issue
Yes, finnaly the class 18 somehow beats the english steamer. Br stands for Baureihe 18 which basically means class 18. The DB stand for the steam train and diesel Deutsche Bundesbahn which was the railway of west germany before it was unified. The Deutsche Reichsbahn, also known as DR is the german railway of east germany. They both merged with the reunification into the Deutsche Bahn, also known as DB. The Deutsche Bahn Logo is red while the Bundesbahn Logo is used in many other colours
fun fact: the german diesel in this race is known as a diesel hydraulic. krauss maffei, the company who made them, also made some for the Southern Pacific and Denver & Rio Grande Western in the USA.
1:23 Oliver, Diesel 10 from Thomas is a Class 42 Warship, this class of diesel hydraulics were in fact inspired by the German V200, so it makes perfect sense they look alike. :)
@@thunderchief7256 Someone (supposedly) stole him from Swindon Works, and installed the claw illegally on his roof, and he was then fired up for the first time. This was apparently the 10th time they've done this to a stolen diesel, hence his name Diesel (experiment) 10. He was put to work at an unknown scrapyard (again, illegally) as a cleaning/scrap claw engine with some of the other experimented diesels. After a few years, he was found by authorities, and was to be scrapped under British law. That same night, before he was taken away, (either the claw-installer or the diesel himself) slipped out of the scrapyard unnoticed and drove to an unknown location and was hidden again. From there, he was sold to The Fat Controller and driven/drove to Sodor, all while evading authorities along the way. He was eventually found by a spy and reported to the authorities that 'it' was on Sodor. When they arrived to take away D10 like he should've been all those years ago, TFC negotiated with them, and officially bought D10 from his original owner (now BR). The rest, as they say, is history. Edit: The nickname 'Pinchy' was given to it by D10 himself after he, reportedly, went mad with loneliness. The human workers were creeped out when D10, who was silent since his 'awakening', began speaking, not to them, but to his claw, 'Pinchy'.
Remember, the main factor for what engine wins these races greatly depends of how the developers of the locomotives make their speed, acceleration rate, and deceleration rate
judging from the comments I'd assume the S1 here would have unbelievable amounts of speed if it was used in a speed test I'm genuinely curious how fast would it go if it WERE to be used in a speed test?
Prediction: Diesel First: Germany (V200) Second: United Kingdom (37) Third: United States (GEVO) Steam First: United States (S1) Second: Germany (18) Third: United Kingdom (Peppercorn A2)
Great Britain!!! Also, it makes sense for the next video to have electric versus diesel because that’s the only combination left. And one more thing. *THE ACELA EXPRESS* ⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️
Not really a fair competition. As you said before the american diesel was designed for strength, not speed. It should be either a race against all freight trains or a race against all speed trains, but not a mix of the two
after this series you should do a race against the mallard vs the super class 47 have the class 47 at 100% power and the mallard at 200% power to make it even
Yes our American diesels are slow but our steam engines on the other hand are fast I would know I work for the Pennsylvania railroad and union Pacific railroad
I always love attention to detail. The S1 class were always really slow starters irl due to a lot of wheel slip and weight distribution issues, meaning traction was always an issue
These races keep getting better
fore how wick country
Love the class 37 favourite train of all time !!

I hope Britain wins all 3 races
Same
Me too
It has a pretty good chance.
Imagine if this was corruption xD
I agree
Cmon England! I believe in you! But also well done USA, S1 is beautiful!
THE AMERICAN TRAIN IS THE BIG BOY😊
The way both The S1 and the BNSF Es44ac towers over the rest of the Locomotives Is no shocker to me.
I just had a dream of the PRRS one
Good Stuff Oliver! Liking these World Cup Races! Here’s one for you. All THREE! Diesel. Electric and Steam.
Good morning
19:52 omg this one is gonna be a good one 🔥
Yesss s1

But who thought it’d be a good idea to give Diesel 10 pinchy in the first place?

Oh, sad backstory.
LaserJet makes the best races
You should probably do a race of the top 10 fastest steam locomotive 🚂
It has been a long time since I have watched this and he still has the same intro
The next World Cup race the England steam train can you do the Q1
The PRR Q1?
Team USA
Best race ever!
You should do a tournament like this World Cup but like the football World Cup and instead of country it’s trains and keep up the good work👍
Awesome video by the way
Fun Fact: The DB Class V200 was the inspiration for the Class 42 Warships
The Engine from those DB class Diesel were reused by the BR Warships. However, only one got the claw. Which one was it?!?!
Happy Easter my friend
Lazer you should also do strength test/race. Would be interesting to see
Cool I love your videos
Great video, Oliver.
Hey can you do a video off steam engines 🚂🚂
Keep winning Britain 🇬🇧!!!
Remember, the main factor for what engine wins these races greatly depends of how the developers of the locomotives make their speed, acceleration rate, and deceleration rate

You should’ve used the super class 47 for GB lol
@LazerJet you should of used amtrak p42 for the diesel instead of the bnsf freight diesel

Second: United Kingdom (37)
Third: United States (GEVO)
Steam
First: United States (S1)
Second: Germany (18)
Third: United Kingdom (Peppercorn A2)
He probably should use p42 Amtrak because that engine was meant to be more stream lined and to replace the aging f40 phs
👍
The drat one is good
Do mallard Vs HST!
i’ve always wanted to play the greater anglia line with the class 745
Why Blue Peter is slowing down already? Although there's a engine same as Blue Peter did even though the finish line is too far away😅
Go Team GB
I love trains
Great Britain!!! Also, it makes sense for the next video to have electric versus diesel because that’s the only combination left. And one more thing. *THE ACELA EXPRESS* ⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️⁉️

Not really a fair competition. As you said before the american diesel was designed for strength, not speed. It should be either a race against all freight trains or a race against all speed trains, but not a mix of the two
Where is Japan? Japan has the best railway system in the world (in my opinion)
You should do a double header race
after this series you should do a race against the mallard vs the super class 47 have the class 47 at 100% power and the mallard at 200% power to make it even
You should do the pacification big boy vs Duchess of hamltom
Cmon Britain we can stay strong!

Lazer jet now that you have made a bigger track do again New York Hudson and prr S1 and add more trains
Why do they slow down near the end?
Is it only the steam locomotives?
Do they like runout of steam pressure?
