  • @redlightdeath

    I will never understand why east coast officers just approach unsearched, unsecured subjects. Especially when the call was for a subject possibly having a gun. Some distance and better approach tactics with weapons drawn might have avoided all of this.

    • @Sam-fp8zm
      @Sam-fp8zm 2 года назад +2

      Yeh they should of stayed outside the gate and talked to him ready to quick draw and shoot if he brings out a weapon or one with lethal one less lethal out but I have no real world experience with this.

    • @redlightdeath
      @redlightdeath 2 года назад +5

      @@Sam-fp8zm you’re not wrong, but typically if a subj is possibly armed, officers will usually already have their weapons drawn. A “QuickDraw” oftentimes is still a slower than a suspect who already knows he’s going to shoot.

      @@firstnamelastname8790 I’m not saying cops in every part of the country, including yours truly, hasn’t made a stupid decision in their life. However, every video I seem to see where unsecured, unsearched subjects, possibly armed are wandering around, or officers put themselves repeatedly in bad positions or take a terrible approach, seem to come from NY, NJ, Connecticut, Maryland, etc. it just seems to be a different way of training over there or something, especially coming from the Los Angeles area.

    "The male officer wrestled the individual to the ground, according to Shea. He was struck once in his right armpit area; the bullet exited in the area of his left chest." - that pretty much certifies that he was hit by the female officer's round. Unfortunate, but his chances wouldn't have been good without her there either.

    • @404nitro
      @404nitro 2 года назад +16

      Not sure how you figure that certifies anything as the guy was to his right as well and was when he opened fire. I watched and paused it a few times. Still, the female officer was shooting when she really didn't have a clear line of fire. I'm sure their detectives/forensic unit will figure it all out, and if it was her shots, she should have to go through some very rigorous re-training or be assigned to desk work. Bad enough to have scumbags shooting our cops, we sure don't need them to shoot each other.

    I see alot of people commenting how the female officer shot the other cop and how reckless she was. I think people are missing the part where the first cop walked directly up to the suspect who had his hand in his pants and tried to grab him without making him show his hands first. What's the first thing you hear a cop say when they show up on an active crime scene? Show us your hands... yes female cop screwed up but so did the male cop so they're even in my eyes, she wouldn't have been put in that position if he followed procedure correctly. That being said glad 2 of the 3 people in this situation can still learn from their mistakes.

    That cctv footage shows them being fairly casual to a gunman. Makes you wonder if being a bit more forceful would of helped the situation in this case.
    Edit: Wait they are saying this was unjustified?! He shot first. They were very kind to him until he refused to get his hand out of his pockets in which he did indeed have a gun in which the collar said he had seen. I don't get it.

    And this is why the US Police need more firearms training. Talk about crossfire, shooting blindly and shooting at the suspect when your partner is fighting him.

  • @ErikButterworth
    @ErikButterworth 2 года назад

    The suspect did it to himself. If he hadn't drawn his weapon and fired on the officers, they would have not instinctively returned fire with deadly force, especially since one was a veteran U.S. servicewoman with military training so she knew how to put down a threat with deadly accuracy.

    Jesus Christ, she almost shot her partner in the head. And most likely is the one to shoot her partner. She takes her shooting hand off her gun and holds it like a damn coffee cup in her left hand. Then fails to call a bus when told, just repeats the order. She lost all situational awareness. Get her off the streets.

    • @tennakh3617
      @tennakh3617 2 года назад +1

      When a body camera is activated by the officer, the camera automatically records what happened a minute prior to the body came being engaged. Hence why you hear no audio till the officer activated the body camera.

      It records over and over and over and over every 30 seconds while in "standby"(deleting the LAST 30 seconds, Rinse and repeat). This is to ensure NO VIDEO is missed when the record button is triggered (you OFTEN hit "record" AFTER you just saw what you wanted to record if the action was unexpected!.), any data savings is a good thing for memory space and battery life, Video is prioritized over audio in this application. This IS NOT some kind of "conspiracy" to "hide" anything. Some CONSUMER camcorders have this exact feature. (I have a Canon that does this, it's enabled DEEP in the settings, LOL). It keeps the camera "semi awake" if one is anticipating action that is going to happen, but not EXCACTLY known WHEN. This is perfect (on the consumer end) for sports. You want the camera "hot" for the "three pointer", but don't want to be in full record mode for the whole game.
