I need to find the specs of a IF coil in an MW radio...is there a way to find this out...I do not have a diagram or schematic for this radio...the slug broke when I was aligning it...and the coil fell apart when I tried to remove..and replace the slug...is there a way???
The top of the coil that goes into the bottom of the ferrite core has broken, and broke all the the wires to the post, It is one of those very small ones that is 1/4 square by 3/8s tall...this coil has a red top core, and adjust the location of the stations on the band.
I have looked everywhere on the net...and antique radios site to...40 people have looked at my message on there with no reply's. It is a National Panasonic RF-835

once you find coil frequency let dip meter sit and couple your frequency counter and it will show the frequency you found the coil to be

Without a schematic it is not easy to find the aim of the coil. Perhaps you can find a new ferrite core/slug?

I have tried at least 6 different red coils with no luck..
That will be a complicated repair. Perhaps you can find the schematic on the www to see what kind of coil it is
