    • @DaniHMcV

He got a life sentence and 20 years jail time. Life sentences means that for the rest if their lives, they will have to ask a parole officer if they want to even drive outside a set boundary, check in regularly and keep their noses very clean. If they commit any crime they will be sent back to jail to serve the life sentence behind bars and with today’s forensic sciences, they won’t be able to get away with anything. Besides that, murderers never get a set release date. They must show that they are no longer a threat and that they have remorse. If the parole board doesn’t think they can be successfully released, they never have to be. I know 20 years doesn’t seem like long enough. If it was my family this guy hurt I’d want him put away forever, or dead. But be assured that most of these guys, after they’ve been released, are tip-toeing and always worrying about landing themselves in prison again. They aren’t out and about living it up. I didn’t know the details surrounding sentencing for murderers in Canada myself and thought the same way (I still do think the prison terms are too short) but they really are sentences to life and most of these guys who do get paroled don’t reoffend. But yeah, longer mandatory prison terms would be better but they might not ever get paroled in the first place. It’s not a guaranteed thing for murderers in Canada.

You’d be surprised about how the Parole Board works in Canadian prisons. You’d also be shocked about the lackadaisical monitoring of parolees. The only way they’re getting sent back to the joint is by getting caught doing something forbidden. You think they haven’t learned how to get away with stuff after 20 years in prison? Keep those blinders on.

If I were these detectives I would be taking a much closer look into this mans past. It`s almost unheard of that a sexual sadist like this guy would all of a sudden kill two young girls and then just go on and live a normal life like nothing had ever happened. I don`t believe for a second that this animal spent the next 13 years just getting on with his life. I`m certain he killed again!

He won’t even serve the full 20 years.. he’ll probably be out in less than 15 years. Unbelievable.. the justice system is so broken. People like him should never be given another shot at freedom ever again. He took away 2 innocent teenage girl’s lives . He stole their freedom. Why should he be given his? He didn’t show his victims any mercy when they undoubtedly begged him not to kill them. Yet, the justice system gives monsters like him chance after chance to reoffend and tear families apart. First they ignore evidence that points to the innocence of their primary suspect, then they enlist the services of a psychic, both of which reek of desperation. If it weren't for advances in technology they wouldn't have had a clue. They shouldn't develop a suspect and then work backwards to make their evidence fit..
