Nehru was 1st person to declare poorna swaraj as goal of INC. He further spent 10 years in jail, worked for independence for 31 years n later became PM for 17 years.
Nehru was CEO of Modern India. Creator of IIT, NIT, IIM, AIIMS, ISRO, DRDO, Planning Commission, NTPC, Atomic research center, Nuclear Science programme, SAIL, BHEL, GAIL, RBI, SBI, LIC, Kendriya vidyalayas, NSD, Bhakra Nangal , Hirakud, Damodar and more more gigantic dams, helped India get independence from UK, get Goa freed from Portuguese (1961)and get Puducherry freed from France(1959) , defeated Pakistan in 1947 war, annexed kashmir into India, creator of NAM n founder of mixed economy n progressive democracy in india. Yes, I admit he was backstabbed by China in 1962 because on humanitarian grounds he had agreed to give asylum to Tibetan monk Dalai Lama in Delhi, therefore angered China. But soon after losing the war, Nehru doubled India's military budget and tripled the army strength n expand nuclear capacity which helped his successors n next 2 Indian PM's Shastri and Indira Gandhi defeat Pakistan and China in 1964, 1967 n 1971 very easily. A great leader that he was, Nehru learnt from his 1962 failure n put India right on track to be a military super power. People like Dr APJ Kalam n DR Manmohan Singh n Atal Vajpayee were youngsters who met him face to face and were encouraged by him to do something great for the country. ✅✅✅. In 1947, even Sardar Patel was a good adminstrator but he was 74 and Gandhiji was 78, both knew they didn't have much time to live, so Nehru was a a fit , healthy Yoga practitioner and aged 57 at that time was made PM. Both died with 2 years of independence. A new born country needs a young leader who stay PM for atleast 2 decades and Nehru remained PM for 17 years. Look what happened to Pakistan, Jinnah was made PM at age of 72 n died in less than one year and Pakistan fell into political crisis and military dictatorship, economic disaster and political assassinations. This is what happens when a leader of a new born country dies soon after independence. Thus selecting a young Nehru at age of 57 in 1947 was a good choice. This doesn't reduce merit of Sardar Patel. All freedom fighters in 1947 were great people

In Emergency JP Narayan was arrested but kept in a guest house while many activists were in jail. Does that mean JP was pro Indira Gandhi?
Nehru was given no VIP treatment. He was imprisoned in same jails like Narendra Deva, GB Pant, Patel, Azad etc like Ahmednagar fort, Naini prison, Alipore jail, Almora Jail etc. Yes the atrocities were not like Kalapani.
But that does not mean Nehru was given VIP treatment.
Also Congress was banned in 1942. Why Hindu Mahasabha and RSS still legal.
