When you get some down time search YT for 3 strand twists! It's a great revamp of the regular twists which will give you extra body and definition and staying power. In the Miami humidity you have to use more twisting butter creams/gels and less water based products. Alodia, Adwoa Beauty, or hydratherma naturals are really good products!😊😊

Hi Monroe. The humidity you are experiencing now is nothing like what you will endure in the summer/rainy months, and no amount of product(s) will work when your hair is loose. I used to get so annoyed until I realized “it’s the humidity, not my hair.” After being natural for 10 years, I eventually went back to a relaxer but you have to do what’s best for you. I plan to go back natural in a few years, but for now, I appreciate having my hair look like it did when I left the house; we’ll sort of. Even my relaxed hair gets a little frizzy with this humidity, just not as much.😁 Keep up the great work. Your are an inspiration. 👏🏾

Hi Monroe!!! I’m from SC where the humidity will literally have my hair feeling wet if not prep it correctly . Honestly the best tips I learned is knowing whether u have low or high porosity hair. Which helps in knowing what products works best for your hair. 1) take two products and mix a small amount together on your hand whether it be gel & cream, if it beads up or separates or doesn’t dry clear - it will more than likely do the same on your hair.
Honestly having a humectant will help u tremendous. 2) A light cream or leave in conditioner with a lot of gel from roots to tip (prayer style) will be your best bet. That way when u shower the cast softens & you don’t have to do it as frequently. As the roots puff up u will still get the voluminous look but ur curls will maintain its definition
When the humidity level is not as high like for the winter months you might not have to use gel but when it high or rain is in the forecast gel is the”Saving Grace”
Applying a nice cream or leave in before applying your gel will still leave your hair soft despite having gel on it .
