Technically I think the adjustment is the same direction as the Df64. It's just that the marker and numbers have swapped positions. Df64 has turning numbers and a fixed marker, while the niche has fixed numbers and a turning marker
I think the cord may actually go longer but sometimes it gets stuck at that point... don't rip out and blame me if I'm wrong though :p Some people needed to open it up to unravel it more. I saw a video where the guy was trying to break the lid and couldn't :D Not much plastic on the grinder at least. I didn't mind the hopper cover. Lots of people have been getting the new dosing cup that's smooth inside, and shinier, double walled with a rounded internal bottom which is nice, but I found the original one was fine too. Niche Zero uses Mazzer Koni Burrs not Robur burrs. It's not THAT slow to grind, 18g should be about 18sec I think. But especially since you're not watching it and letting it grind into the cup. Might feel longer grinding direct into a portafilter. But compared to the Atom you're gonna think it's slow because that's super fast :D Retention is probably like 0.3g from what I've heard.
@@portakeeperhaha, I was holding my breath a few times cause I thought you'd spill some of the ground when you were smelling it and zooming the camera at it 🙈
0.3 to 0.5 g in the first grind. depends if you do monkey moves after finishing grinding the dose, such as hit the chute, close open the lid a few times and shake the grinder.
That's really not a problem at all. I have this grinder and I love it and I actually sold my Atom 75 despite it was super fast (18g in 3s), but I wanted a single dosing, I am not running cafe. With a small bellow Niche is a true zero retention grinder.
@@cybernessful I bought this grinder and my Eureka Mignon Mk2 with bellow is put aside for the moment. Personally, I am not a big fan of the bellow because it makes the grinder looks ugly and it just and easy way out for low retention. But I have to say I am quite impressed with the less than 0.2g retention.
The first thing I thought of. - He's rough with his equipment - It's calibrated already and he opened putting it out of calibration - The shear hubris was astounding. "Be sure and check back, I know you will." No, I will be going on to other channels far better and knowledgeable. (This comment comes 11 months after yours.). The Niche Zero was invented to solve 3 problems for home users: - Noise - Grind Quality - Waste It's a brilliant design really.

They use a larger burr set and reduce the speed to avoid heating the beans and cause flying fines. The grinds are very fluffy.
You forgot to check the weight after grinding the beans! How much did it retain?! :)
LOL had to call me out. As I watched I was like ooop 😂

Unplug before remove the burr
You know I will check back. LOL 😂
I was going to get this grinder, but that was a concern for me; I settled on the Specialita with the Bellows, and I can grind 18 g in 10 seconds.

You will need the bellows with that grinder... Different outcomes.
You saved 20 seconds of your life.
Fabulous.
Why do you have to take it all apart?
To see what’s inside of course
You seem to be pretty rough with your equipments. The grinder is probably dead by now by getting thrown around LOL
Lol what?

Holding the portafilter for half a minute. That's horrendous. Could you imagine how tired you would be after that?
Niche Zero Available. LMAO
🤣 I’m glad someone caught that
