There's nothing wrong with saving money, and nothing wrong with shopping at thrift stores. You can find nice clothes in them, all my children were raised in thrift store clothes.
I don't know what fictional town these characters are situated but where I live thrift shopping is actually trendy and chic. You can find vintage values and rare designer treasures at these stores for a fraction of the market price. I know people who make a hobby of finding good stuff at thrift shops and I've actually seen some cool things that come from these stores. It doesn't matter what the tax bracket of the person thrift stores are found in the ritziest neighborhoods in my city. I guess it goes to show how things are different depending on where you're at.🤔
Rich people made it into a "trendy" thing recently. It was always looked down upon by ignorant folks but now they even have conventions for it... They sell thrift shop items for 10x the price.
Thrift store some good stuff you know. Sure you will need to wash them first but they have good stuff there. A thrift store is where you go to buy branded items for cheap.
