This service was so good to me. From the worship to the word. I was glad to be in the building. If you can make it to church, it’s so necessary, watching again was good, but nothing like being in the house of the Lord. 🙌🏾👏🏾🏃🏾♀️💨
I am deeply grateful for this sermon. I would be grateful to learn more from Dr Mason about what Biblical courtship looks like as well as discernment in choosing your spouse.
This is only my advice for what it is worth. I am nowhere near as wise as brother Mason, but this is what I teach my youth. In a sense, you never choose your spouse. What do I mean by that? Think of Adam and Eve. God presented Eve to Adam. Adam did not go on a search for his wife and vice versa. After God had presented Eve to Adam, he said, “At last bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh.” See the whole time God knew Adam needed a helpmate. Keeping with that, your spouse will be your helpmate. What I have found is that you all will balance each other out. Where you are weak your helpmate will be strong and where your helpmate is weak you will be strong. Before becoming married myself I examined healthy marriages. I have yet to find a healthy marriage where this is not the case. The single most important thing to discern is whether the person you are courting is a true believer in the faith. Not a church-goer, but a true believer. If that proves to be true, you have yourself a potential marriage brewing lol. Everything else will fall in place.
This is a very important message that the church needs to have. Thankful for Pastor Mason for having it. Definitely shines the light on the importance of waiting rather than just being told not to do it. All of the attachment and then pain you get from losing self to different women would be avoided.
We need a part 2 to this or a series. The realness in the conversation is what people need. We need more things of this nature broken down just like this. Excellent!!!!!!
