- Video games are fun, but they can also be really expensive. Look, everyone would love for video games to be cheap, and everyone already loves tips on how to get video games for cheap prices. For those who decide to take matters into their own hands and pirate games, they go into it knowing they're taking a risk. Not only a legal risk, but a risk that developers haven't hidden things in pirated copies of the game that make the experience a bit more...unique.

yeah uhh… I don’t think people realise that when a game is cracked it removes the anti-piracy measures… meaning these almost never matter
@@bobrze hackers finds a way to basically remove every anti-piracy measure this days. Yet Denuvo is still pretty hard to break on some games.
@@minefromblackmonday denuvo is also kind of malware its self, and the issue is denuvo will raid you if you crack then, unless your russian.
Cracked denuvo games run better than baught denuvo games, so people tend to install the cracked version over their baught version which is amusing.

They don't copy your career, they ruin/steal it.
If they copied your career then gave it to others then that would be good comparison.
I pirate shit all the time as tests to see if I actually like the game or not. Not tryna spend $20-60 to find out 3 hours in it becomes trash and I'm past the 2 hour refund time limit on steam.

HOWEVER, I tactically acquire games I bought on the Playstation now that I have a PC cause fuck that shit on buying whole new copies for games I own one to two times over already

Crossbuy as a feature was pretty handy between my PS3 and Vita.
Howwever, that does not "insure" physical copies and the lack of backwards compatibility (plus paid online) just made me move to computers.
Be that my laptop, my desktop computer or my Steam Deck, I've amassed a huge library in the past decade, regardless of hardware change. And now it's the other way around, I'll never bother actualy shelling out any money for console versions of games unless I'm collecting physical copies for my older consoles.
Fuck legitemacy, if Sony can't arse themselves to let us play MGS4 anymore without a PS3 for example, then I won't be arsed to pay for any of their crap.

Tons of pirates don't pay for the games that they pirate. This is a terrible comparison. Taking a physical item isn't the same as downloading pirates data. Data is infinite,books aren't. The company doesn't have to spend any money to replace a pirated game, and the customers don't have to worry about the games being in short supply since the data is infinite.

I know that this is supposed to make it near impossible to play, but i think that things that add extra challenge to the game should actually be hidden hard modes.
Like pirates constantly eating into your profits, the pink scorpion in serious sam, or like... herobrine or missing no.
I think these unbalanced impossible challenges could be more than a surprise for pirates.
Piracy is something you fight in hard mode of GDT.
But Piracy is unevidable in warez version. And they just didnt make this some protection. Devs just polluted piracy sites with this slightly changed version.

How can devs put specific features in a pirated version of their game? They're not the ones who make a pirated version of their own game.
I assume it has something to do with the game being able to recognize whether or not the person playing actually purchased the game.

@SMAL731basically,this "pirated" game was actually made by devs and put as a bait on pirate websites,but after a while,real pirates cracked the anti cheat and now cracked version works fine.

My favourite anti-piracy tactics are where you can still play the game but it's impossible to play, i think there was some game where the weapons you get become less Powerful and more innacurrate over time

I live in Iran and since piracy is completely legal here, so its pretty easy to find and download pirated games. Just search the name of game you want and also put a word like "دانلود" that simply means "download". You can use google translate since you cant copy it here. Then you will see some Persians websites. Just go in the first one and download the game. To understand the language, just use your browser's web translator.

Shame that these are basically never seen by pirates, when a game is cracked the protection on it is ‘emulated’, meaning the game will have no clue that it’s a pirated copy and it will never trigger the anti-piracy measures. That’s kind of the point of cracks on pirated games, to avoid these.
I heard that it was even a dev-distributed version of the game onto P2P networks, so the game code isn't even the same.
@@MsHojat which can be again avoided by going to sites which do not allow people to upload, not to mention these version would most likely be very quickly done for with barely any seeds making the download speed terrible.

Kinda defeats the purpose of an anti piracy measure.
The goal is to make aure the pirate doesnt get any of the content, so incentivizing them with what is essentially a secret ending completely flies in the face of that.
That only works if you don't know how to go in and code it yourself.

It probably was, but probably not much (with some people probably expecting to see the feature but not getting it since most the pirated copies would not actually have this feature). Also probably got like 5x more attention and/or sales than it would have otherwise gotten so it was a good move. Granted as far as I understand it's still not a particularly good game so it's sales will still be relatively low.

it's useless btw, the proper crack completely eliminates these stuff, so realistically like 5 out of 15000 pirates experienced this at most..

too bad I installed the cheat mod with lots of cool stuff. unfortunately I might have done something wrong and the save got corrupted after I loaded it up the next day. I uninstalled it a after playing it for 1hr and maxing out everything

no because it is severely falsely made, you won't bankrupt from this like literally ever, look up darkwood, they straight up released their own games on piracy sites themself with no anti-piracy and to this day, pirates respect them so much that it made their sales go wild, even know a pirate that bought the game 7 times just because of this.
