I know this was posted a year ago, but thank you so much for posting! You've explained this process so well...I'm entering this field and your 6 min video made me feel confident about the decision and excited to learn more :).
Thankk you sooo much...I was just hired as a recruiter for accounting ...Prior I was recruiting for health professionals so I had noooooo clue about AP...you made it so simple to understand ...thank youuuu
thank you sooo much mam for showing us the clear picture of an invoice and also explaining in detail. this video had helped me in clearing sum of my doubts
I wish she would come back to RUclips and make videos. I’m an accounts payable specialist myself and love my job. Hearing someone talk about it is so relaxing.
Great video, thank you. I work for a freight forwarding company and i am in charge of All Accounts payable. Sometimes it is hard to match the invoice before paying it as it is the operations team to accept or decline the amount n the invoice.
Hello Ma'am. Thank you for such wonderful video on Accounts Payable. You explained it in best way. Request you to make video on P2P process and it's journal entries. Thank you.
CHILLLLL!!!!! I KNOW MY LAST COMMENT WAS BAD BUT YOU REALLY LEFT ME BLUE BALLED HONEY BUNS. PLEASE PLEASE SHOWER WITH ME BABY GIRL AND GIVE ME ALL OF YOUR PRAISE. I YEARN FOR THE PRAISE THAT YOU COULD BEDTOW UPON MY HUMBLE BOTTOM SELF. -Godfrey Jonas
I have been working in Accounts Payable department since 1 years. I want to know can I make good caeer in future and please guide me to know about accounts payable journal entries.
What I'm not understanding is every account payable and receivable job wants you to have experience. If you're coming in entry level why do they not train? I went to school for this and I know what I'm doing, but I did not finish school for this.
You should try to get familiar with the lingo and processes so that you feel comfortable going into an interview. Make sure to emphasize your Excel and organizational skills. I majored in economics so I know how this is. The good news is there is an abundance of accounting jobs. You can do it, just keep watching tutorials and keep at it
From my research on AP jobs, there is also some vendor reconciliations and vendor communication as well as problem solving when things don't match up. How do you make sure you get everything done in time and keep organized? Do you use manual checks or not?
As I got the bills, I would enter the information in our system. The owner of the company could then look from her screen and print the checks. She would then give me the checks and I paper clipped each check with the corresponding invoice and double check the figures, invoice numbers, etc. and give them to her to sign the checks. This was a small company and it was easy for me to take care of the invoices that I received in the mail on the same day. I imagine if it were a large company, I would have to come up with some sort of system so I wouldn't be late on the bills. Probably go through the invoices and sort them according to the date they need to be paid. Each company has their own method of doing this. Hope that helps. It has been a couple of years since I worked at this company so I am a little foggy on the details.

I can see where that would make it difficult. I didn't have that problem where I worked. It was a small company and we didn't have an operations team.

Can't see the info. you're pointing to on the invoice. Maybe power point of scanned invoice w/a red laser pointing to each section would help viewers.

What's your salary
An accounts payable clerk makes about $19 an hour. You earn more as you gain experience.
