That was an awesome chance meetup, Dwayne. Bet you and he are going to have some great coffee chats. Awesome historical pieces as usual. Have a great day!
Great American treasures, thank you for sharing and preserving the heritage. That the Colt was owned by a Marylander in the Union Army provokes the thought about how deep the divisiveness back then was, Maryland was a slave State that could have joined the Confederacy and undoubtedly its sons were on both sides against one another. Deleware, Kentucky, and Missouri were close calls too.
Thanks Richard. Tennessee was another state that had a few portions that at first were on the Union side. But shortly after the War began some sided back with the south . Best! Dwayne
@@CuttingEdgetools A complicated time. Of all places New York City had a lot of sympathizers for the Confederacy, folks in banking, textile manufacture, and transportation took a heavy hit when the cotton from the South was cut off.
Lot of respect for the Vietnam veterans, my older brother joined the army in 1966. Served two tours in Vietnam came home and joined the reserves. In 2003 he was deployed to Iraq as a Chinook pilot for 14 months. less than a year after he came home he was diagnosed with cancer from agent orange. He made it 5 more years before he passed, he served a total of 41 years. Those guys were lied to by our government and they went through hell
Wow George. God Bless your Brother and He truly gave it all. I agree. It was messed up in many ways. No different than today. Hope all is well my friend. Keep on picking those great old tunes. God bless your family. Hang tight and stay safe ❤️🇺🇸
Hey friend I thought about you yesterday. Was picking a very old tool shed and dug down and found an old sword. Has multiple layers of patina on so couldn’t find any signs of markings. The handle was in shreds so I spent the morning rehandling it. It was a great pick up, found a couple of old Henry Diston saws too!
@@RonaldNorwood-kn4bo wow. Awesome Ron. Finding a sword in a tool shed💪 bet that Sword looks awesome. Love them old sheds , Barns and such. Uncovering the past! Thanks for sharing 🇺🇸
