I think you are spot on, Scroft. And thank you for voicing your honest opinion. It doesn’t help the game to sit around and pretend that it’s good enough. We all paid for a new game, so we should be allowed to expect a new game. But clearly that’s not what we got. I believe 25 was a console focused release. And fair enough, Giants is following their wallets. Console has come right up in sales since the modhub is available for it. (17) And I think it makes sense for a company to focus development on what’s a guaranteed moneymaker. Console players have heaps of new features to play with now. But as Pc players we’ve always had those features as mods. And because they are base game features, they are incredibly watered down. (GPS) And the fact that something like PF isn’t base game just feels like a dangling carrot. It’s such a basic thing when you think about the gameplay of it. But it adds so much detail. And I miss PF more than anything. But, in doing a console release, they left Pc behind. And in that sense I don’t think it’s fair. PC started and built this game. Mods made it what it is today and will continue to build it. I feel like PC needs to be acknowledged better than this. Lots of people will disagree, but on the PC side 25 is a reskin of sorts. Only time and mods can change that now. Heaven knows no amount of DLC is going to do it. That said I do love the graphic upgrade of 25’ it’s kind of the only thing keeping me in it, lol. Cheers!
@@RyanS493 May I ask you a question. When you create a game shouldn't it be a complete game. Modders don't get paid but Giants benefits. I appollogize if I missed your point. Please enlighten me.
@ You’re absolutely right, I would be glad to have a complete game. The fact that modders are always having to complete or further the game feels crazy when you think about the scale of it.
@ Well, besides graphics it doesn’t have a lot new for PC. So essentially it’s the same game in a new skin right? Id say the ground deformation is the only truely new feature we have. Everything else was available as a mod in 22.
I miss precision farming, I wished they added more things like that, like the moisture checking before harvesting, results of the harvest and price impact. I know you use these as plot points in the farm hand, but I wish we could turn them on, like stones, ploughing etc.
In earlier versions of the game rain would stop field work. Now the helpers just keep working in the rain. I don’t like rain with clear skies above. Was hoping they would have a total overcast by now.
Glad to see your honest opinions. Some other RUclipsrs and players are not that honest. Some things already should have been in a game with farming simulator in the title: better animals, crop rotation, soil sampling, bale rotting, grass drying in the sun, fungicides, pesticides, crop moisture, germination, etc etc
Hi Scroft - Great video's as usual. There are still a lot of mods that need to be converted to FS25, even the large British maps of old. As for new items - I would like to see push and hold to tip trailers and equipment (release button and the trailer stays where it is) another button to push and hold for down. We can then incorporate sprung 2 way toggle switches on our control side panels.
0:22 have you seen what others have done to block Walter? They put a tree over him or placed a small shed around him 😂😂 Literally hilarious what people will do to block him from staring you down haha.
I have pointed out eleswhere that FS22 is at version 1.14 but FS25 is now version 1.4 so we can expect a challenging time before it works well. That said, I agree with you that there needs to be a shift in gameplay features.
Now that I have the systems figured in FS-25, I am thinking about going back to FS-22 for the better Mod collection and Maps. I Believe Giants is relying on Modders to much, the content in 25 is very lacking and 1/3 of the New Features are either missing or do not work.

I’ve not even moved over to 25 yet, was waiting at least 6 months so it would hopefully be in a better state - but of course I shouldn’t really have to wait
Maybe I haven't been in a FS kind of mood lately, but I'm not really having fun in FS25. Sure, Riverbend Springs is the best map that Giants have done in any game, but I'm still not enjoying it very much. And I'm really struggling to get the game to run smoothly. In 22 I could run it maxed out in 1440P with a ton of differnt mods, both equipment, scripts and different maps, and most of the time get around 45fps. In 25 I have to set it to High graphix settings to get it to run over 30fps with very few mods. Hopefully future patches can make it run better and different mods/ maps can bring some of the fun back in it.
As a player on PS5, l haven't played the game recently and gone back to playing FS 22. As the the first time I played FS 25 the game crashed 7 times in just over an hour. Giants need to up their game if they want to keep everyone happy. I do believe there is a good game in there, but giants can't solely rely on the modding community to keep bailing them out to keep the game fresh. Good to hear you ranting as you are only saying what the rest of us are thinking. Will try out FS 25 again next weekend when I am not at work. Great to hear your honest opinion and I hope that Giants are listening
19:21 weird that there is nothing coming out behind the harvester. Don't really see any dust or anything and during real harvesting, it normally creates plumes of dust and what not...come on Giants
I built the same house in the same place lol. I'm loving the game I think its massive improvement AI workers are 100% better I like doing both types of rice IMO Riverbend springs is the best MAP Giants have ever done and it better than a lot of mod maps. Driver assist is new game play harvesting in general has improved weather is better. I haven't had a problem with dynamic pastures it dies of in winter and comes back in spring. Placing building has improved overall it a very good improvement on 22 and I like the UI it's like the UI from 15 essayer to navigate. The only thing I don't like is tornados and hale I turned off tornados I wish I could do the same with hale.
Howdy Partner 🤠 I've seen the same as you. I have friends that are walking away from this game because they're already bored because there isn't any new gameplay features and they've been playing FS22 for the last three years. They needed something new to do as well as the usual stuff and there isn't anything new to do. You're also right when you said it's gonna be left to the modders again to bring new features to the game to add new gameplay and it just shouldn't be that way. Instead of tornadoes, fog and mushrooms, I would've preferred more in-depth seasons that have more effect on gameplay & crops, and a more realistic animal management system. in FS22 we got productions which is a massive gameplay feature. 25 just seems to be lacking that something special. I think the game looks great and I'm in for the long haul but there is a little part of me that's disappointed too I expected more especially after three years of planning development. I'm not hating on the game but I do agree with the points you made.
I’ve bought fs25 but I’ve not even started playing it, TerraLife plus has added so much more to the game, I wish giants would talk to the farming agency and even look at at Farm sim plus for people who want to play as simulator rather than an game. I would defo pay for the expansion
Scroft your right i love FS25, but so much opportunity's missed ill animals ,Vet,Bull, flat tyres etc I could stay listing things lol game needs more depth to farming, player, vehicles and i don't think its wrong to expect more from Giants , Even your idea of building and selling houses is easy take a map place houses as owned change xml prices so you can Rp making money off them simple things like this can add depth and more ways to play , We are so lucky to have great modders like Oxy,4D,FastFarming,Lancey Boi,Loki etc without these modders i would not buy another FS
Don’t get me started. I had my fingers crossed we’d get working manure from our cows. I’ve poured a ton of hours into my dairy save on Riverbend and it’s beyond annoying. There is a lot of low hanging fruit they could have kicked out by now. So disappointing.
I entirely agree with you. There is nothing better about FS25 compared to FS22, even with a couple of mods only. Quite why precision farming is not base game yet is beyond me. Quite why animals still breed like bacteria and we do not have male and female animals despite having mods in FS19 and FS22 that made them realistic and engaging is equally beyond me. What are the additions? Fog that does not go away? Not really something I want. Terrible looking tornadoes? Why? An Asian map with an Indonesian name but a temperate climate that has leaves turning brown and snow in the winter? That is extremely lazy and a missed chance to play with different climate models. Weird soleless characters who turn to follow you? The first thing I did with Giant's Editor was work out how to delete them. The game looks nice, and I like rice, it is a new mechanic that is lost in the let-down of the Hutan Pantai map. These things are not basic things, this is not close to a simulator of farming. And these changes are things that just make the game easier. There are also things like making it significantly harder to code different crop calendars - an absolutely bizarre design choice. I'm not playing this game with anything like the fervor I enjoyed FS22. It is a shame. I hope they fix it.
your so right buddy, im really dissapointed in this game, its no different from 22 other than the lighting and deformation, but im having the same problem with cows i make no manure, and the productions seem to b a loss, thank u for being honest.
Hello Scroft 👋🏼 Great video as always. Do you think at some point in fs25 you would be able to do a British farm build let’s play like scroftopia? I know it won’t be for a while as you will need mods for it but it would be great to see at some point. Have a good evening
Hey Scroft. This seems like a grab at more $. Everything they provide would be possible with a reasonable priced dlc. If they think people won't catch on they are mistaken. I've only been playing for 5 years and I see it. Put lipstick on a pig and it's still a pig. When it comes on sale cheap ( and I mean really cheap) I'll maybe make my purchase. Great work my friend.
All the new game play features are broken in some way, construction is way way too expensive, grazing is completely broken, swathing works but the skipping headers and mowers ruin that too.
A lot of my complaints about FS22 were carried over to FS25. The AI Helpers are consistently goofy and buggy, so I have to babysit them as much as I had to in 22. My helpers drive in circles in fields, get stuck on a lot of things, and I've had them drive into the river a lot of times. They often really inefficient at doing fieldwork too, and they still miss sections from time to time. That a lot of the core gameplay has bugs and issues still, and there's insignificant new additions to the core gameplay (same old animals, new crops that are brutal to do singleplayer), it's such a frustrating experience. It really seems like Giants is resting on laurels and the talents of the modders. For as little content that came over from FS22, I expected the game to have a lot more polish and new gameplay, but it doesn't. It makes me wonder what they spent their time doing. Everyone said it wasn't a reskin of FS22 but after playing it for 150 hrs, I have a hard time seeing otherwise. It feels like a minimum effort. I have fun playing it and I'm really hoping it'll get a lot better Edit: it feels a lot like how Microsoft/Mojang update Minecraft, a game so easy kids can do it. It's the most bare-minimum improvements that adds so little to the game. They could do so much more and easily make the game 100% better and more engaging and fun. I feel that Giants could do the same thing if they wanted
My least favorite part is trying to fill something realistically. I move a big bag into position, expecting it to fill my fertilizer spreader, but no, I have to hop into the tractor with the spreader and hit the fill button… Why on earth is this a thing?
I bought the collectors edition because I’ve loved FS since 15. I’m pretty disappointed - as you say, relying on modders isn’t right or enough because why should they brother if the players aren’t there and Giants control the money? You’ll still get views though and your honesty is welcome. Too many shills.
Too few content creators speak out on this. FS25 is a total let-down and I cant respect Giants to rely on modders to make their game worth while. Especially not with the price and all the rest of the money-grabs throughout the coming years.
