Thank you for doing this new series. I live in Canada and cannot afford the prices of the good and licenced diamond paintings you mentions. I tend to purchase quietly on Ali Express very often and try not to get obviously stolen work. I like the fact that I can choose my size and that there is such a good variety. I love DAC quality, but I don't like most of thier selection and styles. So I find Ali Express is where I go.
Thanks so much for your comment. I'm really excited about this series because I genuinely believe there is a need for something like this. Tons of people order from AliExpress, many people keeping quiet about it because of the reputation for stolen art and poor quality. My feeling is that AliExpress is a viable option for people on a budget or people wanting specific customs, in certain sizes and with a specific choice of drill. I love the good companies in the US, but there is also space in my life for AliExpress. I have a number of orders on the way, as well as existing canvasses in my stash and so I'm excited to get started. Keep your eyes open for the first episode in the series which hopefully won't be too far away. :-)
21:03 thank you so much for this new series. I am so looking forward to it. I have never ordered from AliExpress for the very reasons of not knowing companies, quality.
I'm so happy to hear that you're excited for the series! I am too. 😁. I'm about a third of the way through my first canvass and I'll be starting another one next week, so I hope to be able to have the first episode up towards the end of the month or early March. Thanks for watching, and keep an eye out for the start of the series in the next 3 - 4 weeks.
thank you so much for this coming series,i have recently descovered diamond painting and started with dac, however ,like everyone at the moment ,money is tighter and luxuries are less,im a big ali express user and saw all the shops, however being new to the craft ,not all the reviews really contain pictures or good reviews from any kits that have been worked,so to have someone who has used a kit ,looked for the good and bad aspects really helps,i have been worried that by the time i order various kits to try i would have spent as much as a dac and so held back, this series will give me a clear list of shops to say right you can use these with no worries of poor products or wasted money ,i cant wait for the rest of the series and i cant believe you are the first person to think about this,i think this will be so helpful to hundreds of crafters who want to enjoy their craft ,without it breaking the bank, for me the thing that holds me back is blocky rendering on some pictures,i cant wait to see and here your reviews, thank you so much for this
Thanks so much for your message and for being so excited about the series. I'm so happy to hear that it's going to help you. And I totally agree with you that it's nice to have other options of places to order from. I adore DAC, but I also want to be able to order customs from AliExpress and so I thought this series would help many people who, like me, want a few different options. Happy diamond painting! ❤️
I'm excited about the series too. I can't wait to see what I manage to establish in regard to these AliExpress stores. PS - your request for a video on parcel forwarding companies is noted. I'll probably try and do one in March, in a WIP & Chat style video.
Oh interesting. Good to hear. I too have a a little bit of a stash from them. I have no problem ordering from AliExpress, and I can't wait to see what I find during my "investigations". 🤣
❤😐❤️I came across this so early in my diamond painting journey that I sort of glossed over it; I didn't have enough context then to benefit from it. Now that I am familiar with your character and concerns, listening again is very enlightening. We have several family matters taking us away from our everyday life right now. As soon after my surgery as I can start driving my husband is having a knee replacement. We just don't have the energy to go through having a custom made right now so we decided to just order a round and a square from Ever Moment so I don't have to wait to try them out. But I never really considered the matter of about liscensing to the extent I should have -- to the extent you did, Kim. I've certainly shopped around enough to have a feel for what I know is liscened so I would never order any of those from another site. Id say my images from EM to arrive soon look like stock but cant really be sure.❤😐❤
Looking forward to this series - especially after this morning's DAC debacle. Would actually love to hear your thoughts on a conversion we had on the TanyaDotSA group this morning: DAC sent out multiple email with huge custom charge amounts this morning. Some weeks after the delivery had taken place, and oddly enough in dollar amounts, with the payment due to DAC instead of the DHL. As an accountant, I advised a friend to request the customs invoice (something you as client are 100% entitled to). The amounts charged by DAC didn't match what the DHL papers stated. This was queried. DAC's response was to suspend her account, so she can no longer buy from them. I find that absolutely laughable, and find their customer service's attitude appalling. I for one will definitely be looking at alternative places to buy from in future.
Wow, what a story. I hadn't heard about any of this. I obviously can't comment on this issue between your friend and DAC, but what I can say is that I'm really hoping to be able to find some good AliExpress stores that will offer good experiences to those who are looking for other options. There are various reasons why people might want to buy from AliExpress, and at the moment it just seems to me that there is no good information available about AliExpress diamond painting stores. Personally I love doing customs, and so AliExpress is a place where I can get those customs made. I'm really excited for this series and I hope you all love it too! As always, thanks for watching.
@@myhappyplacewithkime1430 short version of the incident: DAC sent out emails to a bunch of people that ordered in January this morning saying they owe humongous amounts for customs fees (one person had to pay something like $108). Which is very strange, since customs is usually paid directly to the courier and in our own currency, not dollars like DAC are charging, and it is long after the items had been delivered already. I have no issue with paying customs, but what I do have a problem with is DAC charging more for customs that what is stated on the customs papers, and then chalking a R200 different up to brokerage fees. Don't know about you, but I've never paid that much brokerage fees and I regularly get parcels from overseas. But of course, DAC being DAC (Club do no wrong), they chose to block her instead of explaining where the difference came from. I've lost all respect for them.
I'm looking forward to this series as well. It sounds like a good idea to me. I, like you, purchased from Amazon and AliExpress at the start of my diamond painting in Jan 2022. I have many from several companies. I only purchased images that I liked and I tried to keep the sizing consistent (30x40) so I could put them into a display folder. I don't really buy them anymore, but here and there I see an image from Fansells and I pop it into my cart. I feel like watching your videos will keep me interested in the ones I have already purchased and will keep me motivated to work on them. One last thought... I live in Canada and am definitely wondering if DAC will be adding the duties to the Canadian orders. I haven't bought any paintings from them since August. Dreamer Designs changed their practice to include the duties in the published price where DAC was already doing that. If DAC now charges it will make buying from them crazy even to Canada. Thanks for the heads up.
Hi Nancy. I'm really keen to get cracking on this new series because I really think it's going to be interesting. As for DAC, I'm sure your duties are already included in the price of the kit. South Africa is an exception to the rule and in Jan 23, DAC made the decision that the duties will have to be paid by us separately. They were obviously having some issues with our Customs office here.

Great idea can't wait to see how this unfolds. I am a 💎 painter from 2018 and have a huge stash from Ali.

Hi Kim Im going to enjoy this series.
Hi Liz. Great to hear. I think it's going to be interesting, and hopefully I'll manage to uncover a few good stores that people can order from. 😀

Thqank you for your reality check! I just decided not to place my oh so wanted diamond art painting due to the shipping and toll fee...
Sorry to hear that. Yeah, shipping is a real issue these days.
