Deepchord is always more soft, even when Deepchord makes the sound hard on puprose, like on those "Vantage isle" series, there's awlays something soft and floatey in their sound. In Basic Channel yeah they are just extreme, EVEN WHEN SUPER SOFT IN TERMS OF TECHNICAL QUALITIES OF SOUND, yeah EDGY is the term fot that. And yeah sometimes you just say that something is for example stupid to say that it's actually very clever, or you say that something is just a copy to stres that it's highly original. NONETHELESS -> I prefer the Basic Channel edgy sound, in fact i have a feeling that Deepchord is as much Basic Channel copy as it was possible for those poor Deepchord fellas:)

Aside from the two groups being labeled as "dub techno", the two sounds couldn't be more different. Any discerning listener could easily spot how different the sounds actually are.
