I like what they did with Pete’s story here. In the Korean version, after his story’s “climax moment” with the rooftop, his story pretty much disappeared. We occasionally saw him in the background practicing guitar or joining the badminton club, that was all. In this version, we see his parents actively encouraging him to pursue what he wants to do. I think that’s really important. The korean version made it feel like his parents just quietly gave him more freedom. This version has them encouraging it. I really appreciate this change so much

I am also on this boat. I’m surprised with myself, but I’m actually pretty content with this ending. Life is messy and we don’t always get a “happy ending” to every story. This is maybe more realistic. Of course I wanted GunMind until the very end, but I’m okay with this. Gun still found happiness, he reconnected with both of his parents. He can find someone to love in the future, he has a long life ahead of him. And Meen also has a happy ending, she was able to finally put to rest her guilt over June’s death, and she got to reconnect with her twin. She also can find someone else to love in the future. In the words of Teacher Q, it’s okay if they haven’t figured everything out, after all, they are only 17
I love how GMMTV portrayed relevant family problems, issues and realities like adoption(Meen's) , divorce hence having a broken family(Gun's) , academic pressure from family(Pete's) , pride and honor(Tida's), and simple but happy life(Natee's).
