Jack Cassidy was one of the best Columbo villains. This was one of my favorite episodes.
Jack Cassidy was my favorite villain too !!! R.I.P
Loved Cassidy and Robert Culp. My two fave baddies!
Really sad the way he passed away.
@@lisawilliams2013Patrick McGoohan too, appeared in Columbo several times.
He appeared In so many like Patrick McGowan
I mean, not only does he commit a near-perfect murder, but he manages to get back onstage dressed as one of the assistants! Now that's style.
My favorite episode because I used to service that model typewriter and knew how Columbo solved the case.
Fantastic episode. The contrast in sound between the noisy kitchen, boisterous showroom and the dead silence of the upstairs hallway as Santini picks the lock is a beautiful detail. We hear the silencer and the body hit the floor. Then we hear the drums and applause again as the show continues downstairs. These shows were crafted so amazingly well and captivate our senses spectacularly.
Great comment
Regarding the number trick, he probably had different numbers hidden under different objects and selected the skull when he chose 4.
You are correct.
@doug6259
We have Lt. Columbo on our hands over here!
he explains the trick in the episode
You should watch the Penn and Teller beach day trick from "off the deep end" where they do this with all 52 cards. Its pretty funny they got all 52 cards spread on the beach in goofy ways.
Can anyone explain the fire trick he does with burning the letter Columbo gives him towards the end of the episode? I'm presuming he has a lighter hidden in his sleeve.
This episode, the cruise ship episode and the winery episode - my 3 favorites
Yes. Donald Pleasence played the wine connoisseur/ killer. He was so good 😂
Robert Culp with the subliminal cuts; greatest one of them all.
The episodes featuring Jack and Robert Culp are amongst my favourites. Also Try and Catch Me with Ruth Gordon is another favourite.
@@gregrambo606Defintely my favorite gotcha
The winery, the Colonel, and Dr Mayfield are mine, but it really is so hard to say--so many of the 70s episodes are terrific.
Now You See HIm - my favorite Columbo episode.
This was Jack's last appearance in Columbo - it aired in 1976, the same year Jack met his appalling death which was so horrible to happen to any per soul.
That magic trick with the bird was pretty good
An old IBM Selectric , was on my desk back in the 70-90's . I was up to 60 wpm ! Maybe because I play piano !!😂😂😅😅
Jack Being Suave Is Magical!
He’s always great but this might be his best. Hard to top Murder By the Book as an episode but his individual performance here might be better.
@@kjpmacdonald Absolutely Agree KJP! "Murder By The Book" was very good too...but as you mentioned, This Is Vintage Jack! Cheers
My favorite episode!
Funny how busy the kitchen staff is but no one of the guests is eating something.
😂
Good catch.
And no food on the table
Never noticed that until you mentioned it! 🤣
That's because they are still cooking for everyone.
Love, love my Columbo episoded especially this one would love to own entire episodes
Always loved watching Columbo.
It means more to me now as it brings with it really Happy memories of watching it with my well loved parents..both of which have sadly passed away.
Would've been a dream match-up to see Jack Cassidy Santini vs Bill Bixby's Magician!
Sadly Jack Cassidy passed away in '76 after this episode "Now You See Him" aired
Yes he was killed in an apartment fire which was a horrible way to die
Yep, this is my favorite episode.
This was Jack's last appearance in Columbo - it aired in 1976, the same year Jack met his appalling death which was so horrible to happen to any per soul
Cynthia Sykes did a great job as his daughter!
He thinks he's gotten away with it, but wait for Columbo.
Great santini
Did anybody notice this episode's mistake regarding the name of the restaurant? The sign out front says "Cabaret of Magic." But at 6:32, the letter to the INS says the "Magic Circle Club."
The Magic Miracle Club is the club's name. Cabaret of Magic is the act which uses the club.
Definitely wanted Santini to get away with it . Thanks a lot Columbo
Yes but Santini was also an ex SS guard who probably murdered hundreds if not thousands of Jews during the war.
@tz3218 Yes but Santini was also an ex SS guard who probably murdered hundreds if not thousands of Jews during the war
You wanted a Nazi war criminal "to get away with it"? I disagree with you strongly.
The prefect Columbo episode would have had Jack Cassiday murder Patrick McGoohan and try to throw the suspicion onto Robert Culp.
but Robert Vaughn would have done it.
How did she do the thing with the bird?
There is a secret compartment in the scarf she was waving around, she held the bit which contained the compartment which had the bird in it, and it looks like she was freely waving the scarf around, but she was careful in doing it. I saw this trick many times in cabaret magic acts. It is now as of 2023 really old hat, but probably fairly good for 1970s magic clubs.
Look, all I'm saying is that blackmailing a Nazi is not actually a smart business move.
Good Old Stefan Mueller doing what he does best.
I think the episode with the guilatine and Leonard Nimoy as the evil doctor is the best episodes
The Nimoy one is one of the few times Columbo showed anger.
Moja rozrywka drugiej młodości to Columbo, ogladam na powtorkach bo wcześniej nie było takiej możliwości,główny bohater zajebisty, dzisiaj takich aktorów już nie produkują niestety,a szkoda😂
Porucznik Columbo to moja młodość. Lata 90-siąte, czwartki (w polskiej telewizji ten dzień był dniem kryminałów), lekcje odrobione, siedzenie na kanapie z mamą i czekanie na starego dobrego detektywa.
He forgot about the typewriter ribbon, and no, I've not seen the whole episode or the conclusion. I'm guessing, but after watching a few of these (and the original back in the day) you start looking for clues from the beginning. (Now I'm going to look for the ending and see if I'm right)
Is that Shirley Jones in the audience?
ay its the guy from Scarface, Frank
why are there like, 70 chefs in that kitchen?
that took forever, he barely has an alibi
Santini almost better than Houdini
He could easely escape from prison ..😏
The shows went for 60 minutes but they had to condense them to under 10 minutes by taking out unnecessary and repetitive content because the old TVs couldn’t hold anything over 10 minutes. The mondo Columbo shows are very short always less than 10 minutes because of the primitive mondo TVs they had back then.
The old old old TVs could not hold more than 10 minutes of show even without nipnagel or shnibuts rhetoric as they used CRT Catholic Ray Tubs technology Motorola involvement and non Dylan Mulvaney CLT or Claw Technology. No harm no fowl. Crackhead Barney oversees the southerly wing of the flies we fight as fly fighters. Caitin Clark scores best against them. The fly fighters tried Dylan Mulvaney to shorten the shows advertising and tried to produce a non racist TV set with Motorola involvement with flypaper control and Dylan Mulvaney CEO. The historically correct Crackhead Barney and a prominent associate of Dylan Mulvaney declined comment at that time but was very involved.
So was Cat Clark on our side. Transgander influencer Dylan Mulvaney abandoned by Bud Lights and faced too much bullying and transphobia. Crackhead Barney is her team member in Chicago. The proof is in the pudding. It’s all part of the non racist Al Qawama discovering process
Dear God, you don't leave do you. Same repeated nonsense on nearly every clip.
