Dave man, you have my day, the sheer emotion in your playing really speaks to me! I was looking at this guitar on Gear4music and thought I'd check for any videos and I found yours, WOW! I'm definitely getting one when funds permit, have to decide between cherry red, jade green or burnt orange, sheesh, better flip a coin. Have subscribed to your channel and will be an avid watcher for sure, huge thanks to you.
And this is why I just ordered my Ibanez Artstar on Friday. I fell in love with semi-hollows last week when I first played an artcore and a gretsch. Their versatility is unmatched in my opinion. Plus they are sexy as hell.
Just spent several very enjoyable minutes playing along with you on the intro jam on my Samick (well until near the end with the slide and the ultra fast bits). Shades of Wishbone Ash type synchronicity at times. These guitars are just fantastic blues machines and it's why I love my Samick so much above all others. Great playing Dave - Gear 4 Music should give it to you permanently for this :-) .

Hi Dave, been a bass player for many years and have decided to start on the 6 string "type". Spent MANY days checking out EVERY available affordable guitar on "Tinternet" and came across your channel. What an inspiration you are !!! Due to your comments and reaction to this guitar on this video (and your later one), bought the Hartwood in Jet Back last week - what an awesome thing it is in the "flesh". Just need to spend a few years to sound anywhere near as good as you..... wish me luck. Thanks and keep the videos rolling
Same here, Bass player for years and at 50 have now decided to start a 6 string. went youtubing for a good average priced guitar and saw Dave on this guitar, loved it and so bought it. Same colour cherry red and gets delivered TODAY 😃
Wow, what a workout for that guitar! I didn't want it to stop! And then just a few minutes chat.... and back to that amazing slow blues... that I dream I will one day be able to play. Then you run the gamut of my favourite Cream songs and into some Chuck Berry. And onwards..... What better way to show off a guitar than to hear it reproduce so many classic sounds.
Excellent review. Can't wait for mine to arrive. With job uncertainty and being on furlough for months, i had to sell my BB king Lucille. Then unfortunately it snapped on delivery and I had to refund, then sell as broken for just £100. Been looking for a cheaper replacement since i found a more stable job. This ticks all of the boxes 👍

Amazing playing! I'll pull the trigger on that P90 Subzero Tele soon.....so many cool guitars, so little money... Hope your week gets a ton better, Dave!
When anyone says to me " You can't get a truly great sound out of a budget guitar " and " It has to be a proper Gibson 335 to get that authentic sound " I simply send them the link to this video and say " £250 says I can prove you wrong " :-) Absolutely mesmeric Dave. The voicings and tonality are absolutely breath taking brother. Add that to the amount of emotion and soul in your playing and it equates to a musician and his instrument in perfect harmony ( musically and spiritually ). I could listen to you play all day.
A question Dave : I appreciate it most likely isn't your kind of guitar but have you ever come across the Hartwood Speedway Vibrato ? Hello Dave. I just bought a Hartwood Revival Semi Acoustic Guitar, Jet Black . I like the sounds - There's not much not to like for £229!! However, I'm not comfortable with the position of the strap connection at the neck end. I'm holding the neck up with my left hand while playing, and if I let go and just let the guitar find its own centre the neck drops straight down pointing at the floor like its really neck heavy. I'm thinking of moving the strap connector from behind the body to the rim (like a strat). Trouble is this will cancel any guarantee, and I can't be sure it will work. What do you think?
