Lovely, lovely 🧡 I live off grid In Iceland with 12v batteries, solar power, a well with water and huge pine trees and moss... I absolutely adore it 😁🤩 Funny how life works, I never thought I would live like that.... I was a bit of a diva... still am but in a nature kind of way 😆😉 Love to you and his royal highness.

Colette really has made quite a simple and slow yet, to my way of thinking, spectacular life for herself and in this video, Jack, may he RIP. I think the work of tending the woods and gardens is really meaningful to Mother Earth and would keep one busy and active and sets a wonderful example to others. Both houses remind me of your small wonderful cottage....wish they had been but alas, this isn't Ireland. Your home is magical. It reminds me of childhood where we were surrounded by trees, flowers, rock gardens, a slough (pond) that helped develope a great imagination. I'm sure the little people and fairies have many homes among the plants! We grew up with them and the stories of them told by our parents, granfparents, and some neighbours who came other countries! I miss hearing the birds singing. I grew up in the country, but as an adult I live in the city (Spokane, WA. USA almost downtown). I am trying to plant as many native species in my gardens as I can. I'm not going to plant a traditional yard. I don't want a monoculture. I want plants, bushes, and as many trees as my small plot of land (and the lines overhead) will allow. I am so glad that I found your channel. I am learning about traditional Irish Pagan beliefs through the Irish Pagan School. What you have done on your land is an inspiration. I had grown up like this with my Nanny. Except we had a toilet. Lol I was the oldest of eight. My mom and dad live with her for a while. We had walnut and pair trees. My Nanny’s land around her home was rented out for corn one year and wheat the next. We had black berry trees and forests to take adventures through. Best childhood ever❣️🌸
What an amazing cottage. It's funny, we start out life with little, we work to get bigger and more things, because we think that's what will make us happy. Then I see your video and realize how lucky you are, you don't just live on the earth, you live with it. Thank you for allowing us to escape a moment in our hectic lives and just reflect on what's important.

I live with cold water and wood heat only, the entire yard planted to edibles & medicinals & trees on a 100x50 foot lot. 1920's house rescued back after 5 banks abandoned it during the GFC 2012. Bones are solid, two holes in roof, one lets the rain in so no electricity. 10" rainfall per year. I use a 200W solar system, have no debt, the roof will be repaired one section at a time as affordable. I live in a culture that repeats the incantation "investment investment investment" but nearly everyone is in debt, miserable and mows lawns, grows no food, plants no trees and moves every 7 years. The most basic need after water & food is shelter, and is treated like a Casino in this country. 3/4 of the world lives humbly which this population can't fathom. My skill set grows by the day and so does my strength & independance - rich irony for a place supposedly founded on "independance". Thank you for this video, really appreciate your work.

@Annette Fields You will love water aerobics. The moment you step into that pool, it will be like all your cares will float away, the water is so soothing. I couldn't walk for a year and when I could, I found a pool and started with water walking and worked my way up. It was the best thing I ever did to regain my health, both emotionally and physically. Please do it, you'll love it.

I am binging on your older videos this morning before I leave to do errands and take myself to pool for a meet up with good friend to get 70 minutes of water aerobics which we do 5-6 days a week midday. I think of this as a ritual to ensuring better health and a bit of socialization since I happily live alone. Thank you for your inspiration.😇

Good Sunday evening Colette. It is interesting to take this tour, almost one year ago. How the world at large has turned on its end since last September! I too tend to be ritualistic. Small tasks and certain routines hold meaning beyond the ordinary. In these times, I find it a saving grace to be living in the flow of the woodland seasons. Today was the first time one of the wood stoves was lit. I'm watching the small birds glean pine cone seeds off the Hemlock by the back door. The solitude of the woods seems to be a pause, knowing elsewhere is not so serene. Like you, it has taken me years of focus and intent, to reach this point in time. I am grateful to have reached a peace that comes out of realizing this page in my life, even if it proves fleeting....

I am binging on your older videos this morning before I leave to do errands and take myself to pool for a meet up with good friend to get 70 minutes of water aerobics which we do 5-6 days a week midday. Good Sunday evening Colette. It is interesting to take this tour, almost one year ago. How the world at large has turned on its end since last September! I too tend to be ritualistic. Small tasks and certain routines hold meaning beyond the ordinary. In these times, I find it a saving grace to be living in the flow of the woodland seasons. Today was the first time one of the wood stoves was lit. I'm watching the small birds glean pine cone seeds off the Hemlock by the back door. The solitude of the woods seems to be a pause, knowing elsewhere is not so serene. Like you, it has taken me years of focus and intent, to reach this point in time. I am grateful to have reached a peace that comes out of realizing this page in my life, even if it proves fleeting....
