OK, OK, I get the picture :-) The point which stroke me was rather when Sills interrupted him, saying "that's what women find so appealing," and once more towards the beginning. But in the other interview...?
IIRC, Beverly tried to make a connection with Dmitri by mentioning that her parents emigrated from Russia. Dmitri said that Beverly was so good in foreign languages. But man, he really took offense at her description of Onegin! And I think they just didn’t like each other.

Beverly Sills had such class, intelligence, and talent. It's so nice to see her here as interviewer.
I would've been crying, too... Love Hvorostovsky's comments on the story/characters.
He's very, very charming
Dimitri is a wonderful opera singer...
Beverly Sills is so adorable
Un de mes opéras préféré, magnifiquement interprété avec émotion et chaleur par ces deux merveillex chanteurs.
Hvorostovsky and Fleming---together in 'Maria di Rohan'---what a dream....
In the past 10 years we lost both Sills and Hvorostovsky.
RIP for both!
BEAUTIFUL...
Это высокая оценка таланта из уст Беверли Силлз!я ее обожаю!

why do I keep watching this?
and to think...2 of them are gone now.
life is an absurd dream.
omg I didn't know about Dmitri! =(
Oh the lady passed away too?
@@mrjamila88 Beverly Sills ( The one doing the interview) has passed. Renée Fleming is very much alive! (Thank God!)
Yeah, I think it is. Watch the video "Dmitri Hvorostovsky - Eugene Onegin - Onegin's Act I aria". She's weeping, it's so moving.

Who are you talking about? Ms.Fleming? No, she's all teary from the previous scene, i.e. the end of Act I.
Sills cuts him off at one point in the middle of his thought. He looks at the camera like, wtf really? Sills the soprano . interviewer, not so much

Great interview!! There's something more about this met backstage???

I wonder if she had a cold during this performance -- she sounds a bit stuffed up when she talks here. The tissue leads me to believe that's true.
Irreplaceable Dmitri.
When I saw this in the cinema there was an awkward moment that made everyone laugh, that I suspect has been edited out.
Adam Kenney Friedlander what happened??
Yes, do tell!!

What makes you think so? I actually had the opposite feeling, especialy from the 2000 interview...
I thought that's what it could have been but wasn't sure. Hmm.
Does anyone know if Renee and Dmitri had a real life fling? There really is a chemistry between them.
He had the same chemistry with Anna Netrebko. He is just a good actor as well as a fabulous baritone.
Does it really have to be? He is a libra and she an aquarius they get along by nature!
Dear God I feel Beverly sills is so biased towards Renee fleming and Renee Fleming is super into Dima so she sides with him
Beverly Sills estuvo bastante desagradable con Hvorostovsky y a el se puso incómodo.
i love Bev Sills!! :D
@JWrightA2Z Lol, I fel the same way although I'm leaning more towards Renee than Dmitri!! ;P
Sigh.
