Bought a 2023 Hayabusa month ago. My 28th motorcycle and it’s an awesome bike. Haven’t made any modifications yet but will be changing the exhaust and ECU and air filter soon. It was an early BD present I bought myself. October I will be 3/4 of a century.
You're the first person I've come across that actually talks about the angle of the levers. It's the first adjustment I make on any bike, especially in the sports category.
I'm glad they kept going with this model, and I love the new version. With that said, I'M STILL A FAN OF GEN 1 AND GEN 2. How many motorcycle models have came out where every single generation is still loved pretty much equally to the newer gens? The hayabusa is not only a unique bike and a true work of art, but its also super fast, super fun, super PLANTED, and so easily customizable.... its a staple.... Here's to another 24 years!
I really really love the analog speedo and tach. Not much of a digital gauge lover. That's what I live about thre bigger sport touring bike like this and the zx14. Another reason I like the older sport bikes. Love my analog gauges
@@standoutpunching2936 right!!! Let bring back analog gauges. They were more accurate as well. There wasn't always this "oh your speedo is 18 percent off because of this blah blah blah" so your really only going "this fast" just give me an actual gauge. Ya know lol

Me too! Digital gauges to me feel disconnected from the experience. One reason I got the new 'Busa was because of the analog gauges. I was aiming for the '21 ZX-10R but found it ugly from every angle compared to my '06 ZX-10R, plus it had a full TFT display to boot. Looks very nice, but I like at the least an analog tach.
I'd classify it as a Grand Tourer -- It looks like it would cover long distances quickly and in relative comfort and with a top speed of 300 kph+ I wouldn't call it slow.

Busa Greta fun bike took it out for 4 hr ride , went down some dirt roads, handled that very easily, have ordered radiator guard, headlight protector, cane with the yoshimura single exhaust, will get a Moore mafia tune, velocity stacks, air filter. All restrictions taken off, then it will be fun to ride
Great adult review. Nice to see someone ride a new Busa and actually ride it instead of beat on it. I like that you tested the brake and clutch engagement before you left the lot as well. That Suzuki quickshifter sounds amazingly smooth. The Busa is a bike that makes so much power, it never strains and many, that are lucky enough to land with owners who respect that and maintain them correctly last alot of miles trouble-free. I am more a fan of the FJR because of its shaft drive but I hear it can be really hot to ride, something the Busa has never been pegged with. But FJR's with a lot of miles are really common too.
I have a 2022. You're spot on about the ergonomics. At 6' tucking behind the windshield is a lil bit difficult. Very nimble on the road. I compare moving it around in garage like moving a rhino around in an elevator. 1st oil change and alien head upgrade took 2 days...
Just got the 2023 in Metallic/ Crimson. Awesome bike! The Yoshimura AT2 full exhaust makes it sound like a formula one car when getting on it on the highway. Love the quick shifter!
I have a 2020 picked it up in May of 2021 with 1mile on it. This year I took it on a 9000 mile ride around the country. I was always comfortable. My longest day was 600 miles.

Great Review! It would have been nice to have had one of these in my heyday but then maybe not. I had a special kind of stupid back then. I don't know why I'm still alive. Love the look and gauges. Fantastic review of a great bike. I did 6k kms on mine since May 22. I echo your words, when it comes to stock bike, but found that bar risers (Helibars or MotoCNC) make a world of difference. Some also put on drop pegs but I don't need them at 5 foot 8. Bar risers and double bubble windshield transfor this bike into an all day comfortable sports tourer, that has excess power and ability everywhere. Love the bike, can't wait for winter to end.

I've been following Motojitsu now for several years, and for me, what he says goes, I trust his judgement and respect his opinion. He's the only one I see that does a practical review of the stuff bikers need to know, handlebars and lever positions, foot peg positions, how to adjust suspension etc, etc. I don't need someone telling me how much horsepower it has and how fast it will go...I already know! I have a 2022 model and found the same things you mentioned at the beginning concerning the foot pegs and wind screen. I lowered the pegs 1 1/2'', raised the bars 1'' and got the touring wind screen and this really improved the ergos for me.
First time I gave my '22 Hayabusa the full beans, which was a month after I bought it, I couldn't believe such a heavy, gentlemanly bike could accelerate that fast. 😮 It's so well-behaved and can be ridden like a scooter, never giving an indication of being able to feel like it hits warp speed. I now call it a MARSHMALLOW MISSILE. 😏 That describes it perfectly, just like baby whale with a rocket. It's such a different feeling from a modern literbike even if it's not as fast.
Have you ridden 2nd Gen Busa? It accelerates much faster than 3rd gen. Just like any other newer bikes they put more electronics but it’s not any faster or better. It’s just newer. 2nd Gen Busa I had more control over and felt much closer connected with it instead of driving 3rd gen when I felt electronics are getting in my way controlling my experience instead of letting me tell the bike what to do.
I have always loved Suzuki's. I have had some Hondas and Yamaha's but I always come back to Suzuki. They may not be ground breaking but what they have is reliable and just fantastic. They have been making the Hayabusa for a very long time now and it is still a top seller with a huge following. I would like to try one out someday but those ergos aren't really for me anymore. I am more into the GSX S1000 style now and I am in the market for one of those.
The CBR 1100xx has been my favorite bike. I haven't ridden the newer busas but the blackbird is such a well made machine..so smooth and of course very quick. It's not AS FAST as the modern 1+ liter sport bikes (although they run a 10 sec 1/4) but they are so smooth and even comfortable. I don't really care if Honda brings back the blackbird, but it would need to be pretty special to capture the hearts of previous blackbird owners.
@@TheLiamis While it is indeed beautiful, my personal preference is for the gen 1 or gen 3 Busa. But the Blackbird is very clean and classy. I don't think Honda would bring it back without screwing it up the way they did with the second gen Busa. Fake muscle bulges that are completely non aerodynamic. Blech.
16:20 just a tip. go to half your rpm range, read your speed, then doubble it and you know the speed it can do. works for any gear even final speed if the engine is capable to rev out ;)
Exactly. Look at the red line number, take half of that, and if you are in first gear at that RPM then first gear will Redline at double that. In top gear, there are other factors to consider (tire slippage, Etc.)
I bought one when they came out in July last year 2021 , been loving every ride on it since , very comfortable with loads of torque & power , great handling bike & gets a lot of attention too when parked up everywhere
Fast Eddie, big fan here. Owe you a lot. Still the voice my moto conscience when I’m out on the road. I’m sure your videos and the motojitsu app have saved me many times over. Can you do a review on my favorite bike. The Triumph Thruxton RS. I’m curious to here your honest opinion on it. 🙏🏽
I bought one in June, and I shock myself how much I like this bike. There’s only one big caveat. This thing costs more to insure than than my three other bikes combined, and those other bikes are between 1250cc and 1260cc.
Or, instead of tapping the brakes to disengage cruise control, just twist the throttle forward and it will disengage. It's designed this way due to the cruise deactivation switch down near the throttle bodies. Also, to activate launch control...While fully stopped, with the engine running, hold down the starter button and it will activate, then tap said starter button to cycle between the 3 preset desired launch rpm levels "4, 6 & 8k. If u don't use it within a few seconds of activating it, it will time out and the tft dash display will go back to default where u had it prior to selecting launch control.

@@rajindarsingh1417 thanks for that! I like the naked so far but I do miss some wind protection on the highway. I feel like I focus more on holding and leaning in more than actually enjoying the ride. Cheers!
Surprised they didn’t use the Busa platform for their liter+ sport touring bike. Oddly enough seems like there are a lot of older riders who have Hyabusas and every comment regarding the riding position etc seems to indicate good sport touring underpinnings anyways. They make a Ninja H2 SX so not unheard of to use your hyper bike for a touring set up and iirc plenty of people seem to like these for touring as is.
Love my Gen 3 it’s so heavy and big then it just absolutely flys it just keeps going and it’s rock solid and planted it feels light when moving but it’s so heavy to man handle back in the garage
Haha yeah I got the 2022 as well. One of the nicest bikes to ride ever, but has to be the worst bike to push ever, especially on wet grass. I say bad words when my grass is wet and I have to back it into the garage.
Man, hearing you go on about cruuise was killing me lol! I wear out a cruise control switch in a car faster than the power window switch. I dream of cruise on a bike. Years ago I rode my old 04 Daytona 955i from Blacksburg, VA to Pensacola, FL and learned real quick how to left hand throttle. That was a tough run. Alas, now I need to figure out how to adapt cruise to an 03 Busa I just purchased haha!
Same, Mike. Same height. I like the Ninja, it feels like I can stretch out my torso and get low. Never ridden a Busa but when I am next in the market after my Kawasaki I might just have a taste
@@mtherider9 im like 178 cm, tall enough to ride almost anything but not tall by any means. i cant ride most full sized ADV bikes comfortably like a super adventure, a GS1250, a Vstrom1000, Africa Twin. those bikes would all probably fit a guy your sized like a glove where as im tip toes and scared to pick it up off the stand. the older FZ1 sat high. super dukes are a little tall for me. id recommend all the bikes i cant ride comfortably because of height. lol and at 178cm or roughly 5'10" im basically average height for a dude maybe ever so slightly on the tall side

Can I ride this thing?..... I understand your not a doctor. I'm asking your opinion. I've never been on a sportbike. Only cafe racers with only 5 speeds. That elusive 6th gear was what I always wanted. Topping out @ 145 was not enough for me. I want it all. As far as the new Busa. The exhaust is UGLY as sin. The rest is great. Can't wait to hear back from you.
I'm 6.4 I always got leg cramps on my 2013 busa plenty of power but very uncomfortable for me. I put 1-1/2 lowered footpegs on it. I also had a custom lowered seat. Still was uncomfortable for me I had many leg cramps.
On the start up, you only have to hit the start button once and the electronics handles the rest unlike the Gen 1 and 2 where you have to hold the button until it starts.
The bikes start so fast I dont think it matters. Its more of a struggle to hit it for a millisecond than to hold it down for a second, if you know what I mean.
I'm 57 and riding an ST 1300. Bought it new in 16'. Just doesn't quite do it for me. Been looking at these for a few years. I wish I could test ride one...God Bless All
Does the cruise control work at elevated speeds, 110mph for example? Would be nice when crossing Wyoming west to east. Some car cruise controls don't work above certain speeds.
I'm terrified of motorcycles and I'm not about to buy one. However, there is art in their form and function. The streamlined look of the Hyabusa makes it one of the most beautiful in an elegant kind of way.
My wife holds the bar behind the passenger seat. She has one hand on the bar and one hand either on my shoulder or on my waist. She said the bar really helps her on cornering
I would love to own a Bussa but I’m not sure my 62yr old body would like it. I’ve recently, gone from a tricked out Indian Challenger to a BMW K1600b and it seems to be the best of everything as it relates to comfort and performance. I would say the BMW with the straight 6 is 50% comfort and 50% performance. 0-60 in 3 flat is no joke on a Bagger with comfort. However, I’m a nut case so I’ll probably buy a Bussa next!
I've read that some people think the 'Busa is ugly. I don't get it - Looks fine to me. Suzukis I've had were great bikes. I'm ancient now and ride a Vespa 300GTS. a lot of fun. Super smooth. Wow! Thanks for a great review! 😊
Love the review - thanks for doing it! I pick up mine next week! 😊
Have a great time. I ride these vicariously, as we don't have the roads in India to this machine justice.
One of the greatest and legendary sport bike in the world this bike is beyond everything
Love my BB, it's a better looking bike imo.
@@TheLiamis yeah the bb is a beautiful bike from just about any angle.
Blech.
Watching the speedo needle fly in a busa is just never boring
16:20 just a tip. go to half your rpm range, read your speed, then doubble it and you know the speed it can do. works for any gear even final speed if the engine is capable to rev out ;)
That is the big if. If it can rev out. But you either have to actually double the rpm’s or take someone else’s word for it.
Exactly. Look at the red line number, take half of that, and if you are in first gear at that RPM then first gear will Redline at double that. In top gear, there are other factors to consider (tire slippage, Etc.)
Why not just take it to top speed and not guess?
I love it!!! Windshield adjust up a little.
Try State Farm, they love my 2008 Gen 2. Full coverage $45/month
@@johntilghman do you mean full coverage including comp and collision is $45/month?
@@steven631764 yes
Exactly right about the lever angles. As soon as I got mine home the first thing I had to do was slacken those bolts off and move them down.
I lowered the pegs 1" on mine and at 6'2" it is comfortable for me now on long distances.
Had my 01 K1 busa for 20 years. Outstanding motorcycle The new model must be unbelievable.. cheers
Much respect for a new engine that isn't yours, I love your channel.
Yep, my 750's handles are below the clamp lock. You can remove them and swap controls over and put them back upside down and get the bussa'a comfort.
More first rides! Great talking points and diff points of views than all the other motovloggers
I was surprised at 15:50, I thought the VW Gol was a Latin America exclusive, didn't know they were sold in the US. Nice to know
you got new subscriber today, I’ve seen many review videos but no one I’ve seen talking about adjustments and all. I like ur video ✨❤️💫 keep it up broo🎉🎊
What a great video. Exactly the infor I needed about the new BUSAAA!
When I clicked on this on this review i didnt know it was a moto jutsu review and i thought i prob wouldnt watch all way through. But I did because it as good as all his others . Sterlng journalism once again. Top one
I just bought my 1st bike, a 2016 Busa, 3100 miles on it, and byfar the most fun I've had in years. I'm already plotting on a newer one, but ima get my miles up first. Another great video
First owned bike or as first bike ever ridden???? 😳
@@Zoneeee13 both, going good so far
@@bfelder8853 wtffff stay safe on it, cause these bikes are no joke
I've been studying, taking safety courses, riding courses, tutorials for the past 3yrs, only thing left to do was actually ride. I had the bike for 3 months before I rode cause I knew I wasn't ready, thank God for those courses, positive I would've killed myself or wished I was dead from injuries.
It is definitely no joke on the back of this machine
Keep up the great work that you’re doing.
Shes beautiful. I'm a zx1400 man. No disrespect to the 1300. Me an my buddy use to ride our bikes. He had a bad wreck on his 1300. We use to race an cruise all the time. Good work Suzuki
Us Puertorrican's We Love Hayabusa Remembering When They used to do the town Festival in Fajardo at the end of the festival all the bikes doing donuts and racing I used to love it more than the festival busas like crazy All Custom Chrome 😫😫😍😍 🏍 #hayabusa #puertorico 🇵🇷🏍🏍🏍🏍
I had a Ducati Diavel, a GS 1200 , then a GSX-S1000 , Kawasaki GTR 1400 & then the Gen 3 Busa .
Love the Busa . I tour on it … effortlessly glides through munching miles .
This might be a bad comparison.. But I just bought a gsxs 1000 and already thinking about trading it for the busa. Were you happy with the switch? I just think the busa checks more boxes for me than the naked bike.
@@kforeal6809 - definitely an all round better bike, even though traffic it doesn’t lose much
@@rajindarsingh1417 thanks for that! I like the naked so far but I do miss some wind protection on the highway. I feel like I focus more on holding and leaning in more than actually enjoying the ride. Cheers!
I completely agree, cruise control was a game changer for me. I'm really enjoying your test ride videos, keep up the great work!
The best motorcycle of the world, awesome ,incomparable!!!!
Yes! Can’t wait to pick one up after my Msf course
Maybe you should become experienced first, maybe.🤷
@@jeffmiller3150 I call it the busa sink or swim training program.
you seem like a really good rider. can't wait to get a hayabusa
I changed my mind, the bike looks awesome.
Have the 22, love that thing. It's been fully tuned; exhaust and limiters removed. Let's just say it's a missile on wheels now.
Me too. Just a shame that even with tuning it’ll still get it’s ass handed to it by a race rep literbike.
Alas, now I need to figure out how to adapt cruise to an 03 Busa I just purchased haha!
it's so nice to have it on a bike

This is one of those motorcycles I am always willing to trade my height for. I am 196cm it’s just to small for me. Such a legendary motorcycle.
I'm 190cm and I'm really interested to know what bikes you can ride. The Kawasaki ZX14R and KTM 1290 Super ADV have worked out well for me so far.
Never thought I’d see someone calling the Busa small
Same, Mike. Same height. I like the Ninja, it feels like I can stretch out my torso and get low. Never ridden a Busa but when I am next in the market after my Kawasaki I might just have a taste
I doubt the busa is too small for anyone.
I've gotta say the 22 model is the best looker of all. The new styling is spot on. For me it was a marmite style. But now, Well if I had the money Ide get one. Only thing is it's difficult not to get a speeding ticket. But hey, It's one hell of a bike.
I just bought this same bike, color too! Picking it up tomorrow.
Love it and I'm Glad you mentioned the Yamaha R1. I'm a big Yahaha fan. Suzuki always came in 3 of my brands. But this test helps me. Now...... Let's see how you respond to viewers. I have always had cafe racers. I'm 50 years old with 7 back surgeries and needing a complete rebuild of five sections of my spine. Rods Pins new Discs. I'm 220 LBS and 6'2.75" tall.
The beast!! Love it
Getting one as my first bike.
I'm 6.4 I always got leg cramps on my 2013 busa plenty of power but very uncomfortable for me. I put 1-1/2 lowered footpegs on it. I also had a custom lowered seat. Still was uncomfortable for me I had many leg cramps.
I've been riding all my life and love the new hayabusa now that I went look and got to sit on one....now Im dieing for one but can't afford it
Sounds so nice stock, especially when you giver some juice :)
I wish I could test ride one...God Bless All
I love the bussa as well good choice
Does the cruise control work at elevated speeds, 110mph for example? Would be nice when crossing Wyoming west to east. Some car cruise controls don't work above certain speeds.
I swear Suzuki need to teach others on how to make a smooth gearbox. I’ve had 2, currently own a VStrom 1050XT, and they are like butter:)
Just picked up a black 2023 exactly like about 2 weeks ago. unbelievable bike!
nice

Really like that instrument cluster.
I'm terrified of motorcycles and I'm not about to buy one. However, there is art in their form and function. The streamlined look of the Hyabusa makes it one of the most beautiful in an elegant kind of way.
I've driven 800cc choppers, and a 400cc kawasaki ninja sport. I'd never go above 600cc tbh even if I get experienced. I just don't trust myself lol
Great illustration road test sir I like that bike
4:50 its the right lever position for when you're racing with your head down. you're welcome
15:48 One of these days when I'm driving a car, I'm going to lane split between two motorcycles
My wife holds the bar behind the passenger seat. She has one hand on the bar and one hand either on my shoulder or on my waist. She said the bar really helps her on cornering
Ah at last! The master tests the weapon 🙏
Curise control is cool… but Adaptive cruise would be next level…
At about 15.50, riding between cars at an intersection. Had a friend do that. Hurt badly as a door opened.
I like the 3rd gen design of hayabusa ❤️
Honest review, thanks Jitsu
You have one of the best known Dealers there in S.D.,Ca- Scooterwest/Vespa Mototsport. One of their guys named Robot does hundreds of youtube videos on Vespas- new features, accessories, maintenance, etc. You ought to go to them and review the 300GTS. Something completely different. I bet you'd like it.
Keep riding!!
My dream bike. Tryna get one after riding for a while longer
Learning class today: "Cruise control is awesome" 👍
I have a 2007 busa, I’m 6’3 and I think is perfect for my size
great reveiw bro!!
