You should bare in mind that that employee total is likely including all facilities, HR, and business / Marketing staff. Definitely in AAA territory, but some people look at total staff numbers and think "wow 250+ programmers??" or get the wrong idea about how many people actually produced the software.
to be honest. Triple A game mean it has high bugget in production, not just how many their employees are, And as far as i know the dev team that actually working for this game are less than 100 people. Not 200+ (that is total people in asobo studio, not all of them working for this game), and if you look at asobo studio revenue, it's far less compared to triple a studio even lesser than Annapurna interactive (indie studio making Stray and Ashen)
I absolutely love this game and the first game, just a bit sad that it is so graphically intensive. Thank you for putting the time to test all the settings. I wish more people would do this, but I understand it is very time consuming. Thanks again!
@@west5385 I'm sad too, because the first game was optimised so much better. The visuals IMO looked awesome and on max settings my PC fans never sped up at all. It is so much better when you play a game in a quiet room without fans kicking in on your RTX card and worrying about your electric bill. For a game that was developed so many years after the first I'm not that impressed, especially with the ray tracing, which I just turned off in the end. SSR and motion blur are also crappy. Then there's a VSync bug in the latest patch which means you have to force it in your NVidia settings or it's greyed out (unless you set to unlimited FPS which makes your PC scream)
Pausing at 4:18 It seems volumetric lighting gives a larger range in the skies gradient lighting. I'm only noticing it in the foggy sky though, it doesn't seem to effect lighting in the other scenes.

I played through the entire game on an i5-10400 and an undervolted rtx 3060 (1870mhz 875mv +700mem). I ran it at 1440p with the maximum settings and dlss on balanced. Looked extremely sharp detailed, with the frame rate being acceptable for a single player game.

Very helpful video! I feel like the double A studio is only apparent with the optimization of this game. Were it a triple A title I think we would see 100 to 140 max settings with a capable pc. That being said I could care less; the Plague series is awesome and Id happily play this at 30 fps if I had to just because I love the game!!

This game is seriously more demanding than cyberpunk. At 1440p, on your optimized settings with 80% resolution scale, it was barely touching 80fps and dropping to the 60s. Really pushed my RX6700 to the max.

Thank you for this,a correction the 1st area is the most easy area in the game not the most demanding.The most demanding is on act II newcomers,when you go into the market area,there your FPS tank.And from 60 can go as low as low 40s.
The market area mostly tanks CPU, not GPU. I suppose it's because of a big amount of NPCs. Surprisingly, even relatively modern CPUs, like i5 10400 or Ryzen 5 3600, may struggle to hold 60+ fps in this area. So you need something like i5 12400 or Ryzen 5 5600 to eliminate CPU bottleneck entirely in this game.

@@filipgonda3173 If a GPU usage is less than 90%, then there is definitely a CPU bottleneck. This a typical situation for a 16-thread CPUs (like your 2700x) to be loaded by just 40-60%. It means that this game can only use 8 of it's 16 threads. That is why you see only 40-60% utilization. In case of Ryzen 5950X we will see that in this game it will be loaded just by ~20-30%, taking into account it has double the amount of threads/cores of 2700x. And it will still be a CPU bottleneck. As to why game developers are not able to fully utilize 32 or at least 16 threads, you are right, it comes to optimization issues. For me depth of field and volumetrics have a huge visual impact and little performance loss/gain so I put them both on high Playing in 4k with , I7 8700k and 3080ti
DLAA is an Anti Aliasing that runs at native resolution,it's not supposed to boost performance like DLSS , it will help you only if you can run the game at native resolution with playable fps.

Ok, maybe someone can help me: Got AMD Ryzen 5 1600 AF, RTX 3060 and 16GB RAM. When I set all to ULTRA I had 100% GPU usage, and FPS floating between 30 - 60. When I used settings in this video, my GPU usage is about 50-60%, CPU around 30-50%, and FPS is... floating between 30-60... What the hell?
Game runs like crap ive tested it on 2 systems so far my desktop 5950x 3080ti 3440x1440 ultra dlss quality and i get drops to the mid 60s but stay 80-120 mostly and with my laptop 10875h 2070S 1080p Med dlss balanced i still gets drops under 60 especially in towns or when the rat hoard shows up but normally its stays much higher. I can see why the consoles are locked to 30. With this and gotham knights we are getting some unoptimized games lately. Its sad when a 3080ti’s not enough been trying to find a 4090 no luck might as well wait to see what amd has in store.
aargh...4k and thy 3070ti is melting... 🔥🔥 but what i found interesting is this game utilizes only 1 single cpu thread. i3-1200f 1st thread runs at approx 50%, the rest are at 0 or 2%.
The problem is DLAA is very taxing, in an already extremely taxing game. I have a 3080, and at 4K with a balance of Ultra/High on most settings I can’t maintain a stable 60 without DLSS set to balanced. DLSS Balanced is needed with this title.
i played with Ultra settings only draw distance to low and i got very good performance around 60-70fps and sometime above 80 if go to less demanding area, i capped 60fps so i can play well, sometime when combat it drop but not below 55fps so it's fine to me, luckily they adds their upscaling after update so i can finally play without any issues, i used rx6600xt
asobo proves that good looking game doesn't really need ray tracing. implementing ray tracing makes a good game looks relatively awful when rt is off. or when it does looks fine when rt off, game devs definitely work twice to optimize both scenarios.

I'm surprised more mainstream gaming sites don't do these basic performance scaling guides. They use to do them back in the day, but not now. Even Digital Foundry doesn't do them much.
The open source Linux graphics drivers have become faster than the windows drivers in most games and 3D software. This game is on average 20% faster on Linux systems with AMD GPU's. It's best to play it on Nobara Project, Void Linux, Mint, EndeavourOS, MX Linux, Devuan or Clear Linux. The fact that this is not even mentioned indicates that it is a noob talking.

Those bright flashes actually are very realistic because this happens in real life exactly like that so maybe it isn't a mistake

Is DLSS DLAA better than DLSS Quality setting?
DLAA is better because it runs at native resolution unlike DLSS which runs at lower resolution then upscale to native resolution.
Looks wise yes, it's looks even better than no dlss at all, as shown in the video.

i have a laptop ryzen 5 5600h rtx 3060 16gb ram , temp of gpu is 83 84 !! is that normal ?? i closed the game because i never played the game with such high temp; is this normal or just me ??
I think it's normal for a laptop and the game is so heavy it put a lot of burden on your Hardware specially the GPU.
