As long as we've got Shep, Craig, Austen, Whitney, and mom.....we can work around all the rest. Many of the women have come and gone, as well as Thomas. The show has survived all of those exits....brilliantly. I like this show. PS...I don't like Paige for Craig. I don't feel like she's crazy about him.

No I sure don’t. His family are from my hometown, some are still there along with Sheps family’s land. He looks down his nose on others. Calling Madison a white trash hair dresser was disgusting. Like he’s EVER held down a job in his life.
I actually think being friends with Shep would be a blast. Just avoid hooking up with him and behave in a platonic way. Intimate relationships aren't his thing and he's always been upfront about it. Otherwise, go have fun. And he's not without intelligence. I also think if Shep stopped drinking and had to live on a budget, he would remain faithful. He's as open as his options are and beer goggles are on.
