Al Stewart - 1944 (A Jewish Girl in 1944)

From the recent Admiralty Lights 50 CD box set, here's a very early 1965 self recording by Al Stewart, at Dolphin Court, when Al Stewart was still in Bournemouth, England. This traditional English original folk song was recorded in mono by Al Stewart's friend Jonny Kremer on his home tape recorder. Set to the backdrop of photos of Anne Frank (although this song is not specifically about Anne Frank) but works well as a memorial tribute to this young author who died a few months prior to the WWII armistice.
