Great video JO! As a Social Worker who works with both adults and children who wear AFOs for various reason (mostly Cerebral Palsy related), I can honestly say I have never met a client that uses AFOs that enjoys wearing them. And they are usually the first thing that comes off if they are allowed to spend time out of them. I'm glad you have found a brace that works well for you and look forward to seeing your future vids!
That's great advice for pressure point issues. Bunion pads, they're everywhere and not expensive. I wear a custom AFO on my left foot. I have pressure point pain on my ankle bone from time to time. , fortunately, my brace place is just up the road, and he's got foam for every occasion. I only have the pain now if my AFO is put on incorrectly, and it doesn't take much.
I had pressure points bad in my AFO for years, I’ve had different pads in my AFO and had different AFOs made and nothing worked. In May I got my new AFO and the man who makes it put a thick pad in between the AFO and the boot and now the screws do not poke my foot and I’m not having anymore redness or soreness. First PERFECT AFO in 9 years!!!!
Good vid! I'm off to my foot dr now, my new orthotics I was casted for are now in yay! I'm going to ask him about afos , I'm sure I needed them years ago... but I do all kinds if hacks too- I do have bad bunions, and toes that cross overs, so have to wear foam and non latex thingies on various toes to stop the rubbing... and I have a horrible pressure point on inner right foot that IS a bone poking thru- that needs surgery 😂 which I've been using those bunion pads on. But the pain is excruciating. It so sucks that our feet, legs, bodies are this messed up. And unless you are a zebra- people just don't understand how painful just walking, existing is.
I just had my disability hearing last week, so I'm REALLY hoping I'll be able to get into a good podiatrist soon. I'm SO tired of falling because my foot rolled or a little bitty bone sublaxed in my foot due to no support. My poor ankles are just dropping inward more and more😐
I roll my feet outwards and I walk on my toes and I’m always rolling my ankles and falling my ot says I’ll probably need them anybody in the comments section who can tell me if I’ll end up needing them

Oh gosh. I hope everything goes well and you can find someone to help. So painful.
I got my afos yesterday and I have a few pressure points already. Almost to the point it hurts too bad to walk in them.
Sorry to get back a month later. Hope you let the person who made them know
