Nice one Dan! It's the only part of the helmet that I haven't attempted to free-hand yet. I've used tube stripe decals on every helmet I've ever built. But I think that hand painted is the way to go from now on. Next time...I promise!
Thanks John. I really don’t blame you. The templates certainly make it easier to get a consistent finish. However, I think I’ll practice more on my “test” helmet next time before I paint onto a keeper. Practice makes perfect - I just need a load of helmets to paint now. Lol
Haha. Yes, it’s not the easiest. I’d love to practice more and get it more fluid, however, looking back afterwards they’re not as bad as I first thought. ☺️

Hey Dan,painting those tubestripes does look very tricky,I wouldn't even attempt that unless I used a stencil.
