Thanks for this, enjoyed seeing the companies I used to work for, BAES & GD, the shows were always a highlight and an escape from the factories and flight lines. Great video
Hey Tyler, thanks for the great video! We were at the show as well this year, and I wonder if you had a chance to film any footage of SAF Tehnika's booth (the compact spectrum analyzers for EMSO)? Let me know how we can connect.
I looked through my videos I recorded and didn’t swing through your booth while recording. I go to most of the defense shows around the world though so just let me know the next one you will be at and I will certainly stop by.
This is kind of a modern English definition problem, because you can not explain to anyone why the Bradley and the M10 Booker are not tanks, but the Infantry Tank Mark II (Matilda) and the M24 Chaffee were tanks. Back in WW2, nearly everything was called a tank. Especially a lot of modern armored fighting vehicles would have been called light tanks. Now in the English language people try not to call something tank that is not a main battle tank (MBT). So armored fighting vehicles (AFV), self propelled artillery and infantry fighting vehicles (IFV) are not tanks in modern military English. In other languages every armored vehicle is the word for tank (so in German every armored vehicle is some kind of "Panzer", "Panzer" is also the word for "armor" at the same time).
These types of conventions are so dystopian. Bright lights, flashy display, and weapons as far as the eye can see designed to destroy human bodies. So weird and sad.

I hope you know that not all tracked vehicles are tanks. You kept saying they had tanks on display but then proceeded to show personnel carriers and mobile artillery. Never saw a tank in the whole video even tho I heard the word like 15 times
@@travelintylerstyle the m10 booker in thumbnail can be seen as a light tank but the army is quite determined that its not a tank but a armored fighting vehicle, and i saw no tank the the bae display mostly mobile artillery. sorry if i came of a bit rude in my previous comment, i personally am quite interested in vehicles military or not so the tanks comment might have come of a bit rude, other than the tank comments i love the video and would have loved a bit more of an indepth look in the booths, just a few seconds more on each. i look forward to your next travel or military con video :D
@@travelintylerstyle it's really i that's in the wrong here can't expect everyone to know everything, especially in such a specific field as military vehicles. keep up the good work, can't wait for future videos!

Thank you! We will be at AOC 2023.@@travelintylerstyle
at least you featured the Booker in the thumbnail.
Not tanks, M109 Paladin artillery, Bradley ifv and it looked like a bvs10 beowulf. Thanks for the content though.
You definitely know your stuff. Yeah I wish I had that to do over and not reference them as tanks. Thank you for watching.

Those are artillery systems not tanks.

So what you saw at the BAE & GD booth weren’t tanks?
Pretty sure that’s a tank in the thumbnail

That was a M109A7 Paladin which is field artillery and its not a tank. You really need to learn your gear if your gonna do these type of videos.
Thank you for the feedback!
