I think the wheels will look better with rubber on them and once the shine has faded a little. Personally I prefer black but silver is much more original for these bikes it seems.
If you heat the bearing in the casting then re-insert the shaft and let it cool you can use a punch through the hole to knock the bearing out That’s what I did last week
I have noticed when motorcycle restorers have a a bearing to get out or to put the casing in heat the heat (and oven is one way) and the bearing normally falls out.

Yes, the manual says to use heat. That definitely helped in this case too. Austin 7s we do the same thing as it's an allow bottom casing.
