Courtney!!! Thanks for the shout out girl! You nailed this video!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 You provided so much clarity for me, it all makes sense now! God is so good!! Can’t remember if I shared this with you before but I started with this hospital as a UR nurse last month and apparently they just changed to a triad model which is one of the reasons for hiring me. Prior to this, they were under a dyad model. Recently they partnered with other hospitals in the tri-state area to expand their system thus changing over to a triad model and hired more case management staff. I definitely see the benefits for being a triad model because each specialty gets to focus on their own area. It’s definitely better for reimbursement and patient satisfaction. I appreciate you so much, your videos have been a life saver in advancing my knowledge in this field!! One thing I still struggle with is knowing when the order is in for IP but they only meet criteria for obs and having to call the md and explain this. Another is when they meet discharge criteria but you know the patient still needs to be in the hospital. Any wisdom on this? Thanks again girl! I’m definitely a subscriber now ❤
And girl, I watched your video about I achieved my goals but I still wasn’t happy. When you said, you got to a place where if you didn’t get married or have kids, you were good cause you had Jesus….that nearly knocked me off my chair! I’ve been feeling the same way lately too. I could not say that two years ago or even 1 year ago but after losing my last job and sitting home for 6 months, he gave me time to reflex and now I can honestly say I’m there! Thanks for sharing, you be speaking truth!

Wow!!!!!! I’m sooo happy you enjoyed this video! That’s the same exact path I took to get into UR the hospital transitioned to a triad model. I will make some videos addressing your other topics.
I’m so glad you mentioned that video it took me along time to get to that point and honestly I go in and out of seasons feeling that way! One thing that remains constant is Jesus he never leaves us or forsakes!!!!! I got a feeling this next season of your life God is going to Blow Your Mind! 💕

      Courtney,
I wanted to thank you again for how much of an impact you’ve made with this channel. Just an update, I just completed my 90 day evaluation as a UR nurse and I owe all the glory to our lord Jesus Christ. He has blessed me in so many ways and directed me to your channel. He has also blessed you with a gift of teaching and definitely has placed you on this platform to share your knowledge with others. Girl, it all makes sense now and I just wanted to thank you again! I went from knowing nothing about UR to feeling comfortable at work and having a better understanding of medical necessity and criteria. Your videos and explanations have truly helped me grow as a UR nurse. This is one of the best jobs I’ve ever had. There is still a lot to learn but you have definitely help make this transition from a beside nurse to a UR nurse much easier. Remember, if the thought every comes across your mind that your not reaching and helping others, dismiss it cause you have definitely helped me so much! I pray God continues to bless you with much success and happiness in your life!

Aayeeee!!! I'm trying to get into CM but they're asking for experience in the hospital setting. I've worked in the OR, PCU, and Med Surg Cardiac/Tele. Hopefully someone will give me a chance. I eventually want to work from home.

You can do it!!!! Just make sure you tailor your resume to show things that you already do such as discharge planning and education! They need nurses who have strong clinical experience to help with the progression of care! Keep applying!!! It’s a numbers game!!!!

I super love being a Discharge Planner in CM department. As you explained it, we are dyad model (which is a new term for me). I work at the county hospital. Our office/ department consists of the RN CMs, the LVN DCPs and the social workers.
After 20 years of patient care, I can truly say, I’ll never go back. Its up and stuck😂🫶🏽
