I met Sinead at a facility in 2000, we met in the hallway, she was wearing her priests garb, and she was upset. I asked her if she would like a cup of tea and she said yes and asked if I had cigarettes, well Andrew, for the next 3 hours, we talked so much, she just told everything as it was. Her humility and honesty was incredible. It was difficult to look straight at her, she was even more beautiful in real life. She was so nice and also very concerned about my wellbeing, even though I was a perfect stranger. I'll never forget our time together, she seemed very vurnerable and yet not, if that makes any sense. Anyway she smoked 3 ciggies, we had a big hug and she said, thank u so much for being so kind. Before she left, I said please Sinead will you sing the first verse of nothing compares to you, and she did, ❤❤ her driver was standing at the door throwing his eyes up to heaven 😂 Her grief at loosing her son must have been horrendous, I too know what that's like. I'm so very sad tonight.
Wow. My heart sunk at the part where you asked her to sing the first verse of that song. Can't believe you made that request after A WHOLE THREE HOURS of one-to-one with her. You needed her to perform as well? Oh well. Kudos to her for yet granting that request anyways.
As an Irish women, brought up in catholic Ireland, in Dublin in the same era, my Irish teacher was her teacher in secondary school. She was so beautiful, a few years ahead of me., The Catholic Church and its level of control on every person in Ireland caused absolute destruction. The clergy abused the children whilst in parallel telling, married couples to not use contraception. Anyone who had a child out of wed lock was shut away to a life of service in a laundry, for life ! Sinead, you spike out x we love you x ❤️🫶🏻✨ I hope you feel peace x x x x
Trubble was Sinead 's trigger to move on... , she was strong, 3 more kids to take care for. So never understate a mother!!! Rest in paradise my beautiful soul ... bismillah 🤲🏽☝🏽💖....nothing compares
She was too pure for this world. She was a genius, truth teller and a warrior. I saw her in concert in 1983, bloody brilliant, she sang her songs, played the violin brilliantly and danced in the Irish tradition. She was a triple threat, not to mention exquisitely beautiful with not a scrap of vanity. I'd like to see the haters endure the abuse that she experienced as a vulnerable child. Rest peacefully, tortured no more by this cruel world. Those of us that love her are stretched on her grave today, a very sad day indeed.
I saw her in the mid-80’s on video sing her 1st Album Acoustically & it Completely Blew me away. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing & seeing. She was so Totally Stunning, in Looks & Sound. Thank you for such an Amazing & Beautiful comment 💔💔
Very well said. It is heartbreaking. She was completely unique and always did it her own way. She experienced terrible abuse during childhood and always championed victims of all kinds. RIP gorgeous lady ❤❤❤.
My own son, 17 years old at the time, died of suicide 7 years ago. He suffered from bi-polar. The medication made him feel awful and we searched and searched for nutritional support. When he died I got all sorts of truly hateful comments on social media. Some people really have no idea. My sincere condolences to her family. May they eventually find the peace they deserve. Sinead, may you rest in peace.
As a Catholic, I am proud of Sinead standing up against abuse in the church. Yes, she did it in a way ppl didn’t like, but she knew the safety of the congregation is more important than the hierarchy. RIP Sinead. You weren’t perfect, but you had heart.
But it’s not just the Catholic Church. She didn’t do that to stand up for what she believes, she did it as a publicity stunt. We all know about the corruption within the Catholic Church. However, they’re certainly not alone. They are always the ones being attacked because they don’t fight back. If she tore up a photo of one of Islam’s precious leaders she’d probably have been killed. If the Catholic Church ceased to exist Isis would rise up.
For sure, I didn't understand the meaning behind it (I was a kid though). Maybe I'm not aware enough about creative protest, but as a Catholic I know how our religion is not perfect (nothing run by humans is) w/a family with similar demons as Sinead I really hope she finds her peace with the creator and family 🙏 💙 it takes guts to take a stand
I am absolutely devastated. I've loved Sinead since I was 16 years old. The thought that she has been in such unbearable pain until her last days has gutted me. I thank her for her love. kindness, bravery. For sharing her gift with the world and her light.
@@laurielovett8849 That's your opinion and you entitled to it but whey come in here to be negative when so many love her and just want to mourn in peace?
She stood up for the mentally ill and she stood up for children of abuse; she stood up for me. I had great respect for her and hope that she may find the peace in death that she couldn't seem to find in life. Thank you with love Sinead, may you Rest In Peace.
She took a BOLD and passionate stance against a religious institution, with a conviction like NO ONE in the entertainment (public) field, to this very day. Courage in the face if a weak society who failed and continue to fail to put CHILDREN FIRST. Who fail and continue to fail to point out blatant HYPOCRISY. She was beautiful, bald and brilliant. She was WAY MUCH MORE than music. She was Sinéad O'Connor. 🔥🖤☝🏾🎶💔 #sineadoconnor
I know, my mother banned her in our household because she was Catholic. My mother died when I was 17, but I often wonder if she would still be Catholic today. I honestly view Catholicism as a cult - it may not be as obviously a cult or as the church of Scientology or the latter-day Saints, but it is a cult nonetheless and I would have never brought my children up in it. But now the world knows more about it, and I think it is an institution that people are leaving in droves today
Oh I loved her! She was a victim of child abuse as was I. I loved what she said… "So much of child abuse is about being voiceless, and it's a wonderfully healing thing to just make some sounds” Rip Sinead. Thank you for your beautiful talent. Have peace 🕊️
She was so misunderstood and I'm grateful I grew up with her. She's so much more than a Prince track. Amazing albums and didn't give up her beliefs and back down. Very sad day
I feel desperately sad for her three remaining children. How ghastly to lose two close family members within a year. Regardless of how her life was ended, she was a very special person who did everything she could to remain true to herself, and to speak out for others who have been abused.
Rest In Peace with your baby boy, Sinead. I hope the pain and suffering you both struggled with so much here on earth are gone and only replaced with love and light in the next place. May God be with her surviving family, especially her children.
The pain and heartache of losing a child is unbearable. It's been 4yrs for me and it's a pain like no other, day in and day out. Any mother of child loss will totally understand her decision.
This November, it will be 4 years since the loss of my daughter too. I have learned time doesn’t heal all wounds; it just helps us become more practiced in bearing the pain. My heart goes out to you on your loss. God bless.
@@annemurphy9339 Well said. Gutted. I too lost my 17 yr old daughter and only child two years ago. Love Sinead. Coincidentally, just the other day I happened to rummage through a box of old items in the basement and came across a CD of Universal Mother. I picked it up and looked at it for a minute and then put it back. So sad for her remaining children and family. My heart goes out to you and @user-hq7ly1k3o and everybody else in this awful club.
After losing your child there is no getting past that. I have struggled with that trauma now for 5 years. God bless her and her son. I hope they are both on a new amazing journey together now.
Thank you so much, Andrew, for speaking out against politicizing the death of a wonderful artist that was struggling with the aftermath of trauma. Bipolar disorder is really serious and hard to endure. ❤
Totally agree. We should remember that in the end, we are all human beings and are allowed to have different opinions. She was always very misunderstood in so many ways.❤
She was so misunderstood by so many people. Her mind was so brilliantly complex and her voice is mesmerising. She spent her life searching for peace and understanding for others aswell as herself but was never afraid to take on adversity and speak the truth. Sad for those of us left behind. Her songs are so meaningful and uplifting. Such a passionate and expressive person. Thank you for letting us hear you, Sinead. She Who Dwells live in Dublin 2002 and Moved Through the Fair live are my personal favourites 💚 Too young to rest in peace...Party in paradise with the ones you love and lost 🗻🌄✌
Beloved Sinead having been born on December 8, 1966 made her a Master Number 33 Life Path in Numerology, THE most misunderstood of all the Life Paths, born to bless others. Her voice! Her mastery of self-expression! Unmatched. We are profoundly grateful and forever blessed by the legacy she gifted to this world. ✨💗💎🦋🩵
@@magickal02I thought she was 56? Your numbers are outta kilter? Edit: I say this because I'm 56 & born in 68....I'm missing something....I'm outta kilter!!!😅
Totally agree. She was very misunderstood and a beautiful soul. I always admired her courage and watched an interview with Pierce Morgan not too long ago that was so raw and brave. I truly hoped that she had found a peaceful place in her life. So sad
Of all the musicians that have died before their years, this is the least surpising to me. She was a tortured soul. RIP Ms O'Connor. Your voice was piercing.
When she ripped up that photo, I was watching, and was flabbergasted and impressed at the same time. Only recently did I learn that she wasn't only protesting abuse by the church, she was protesting domestic child abuse in Ireland that she believed was fostered by the church's abuse, and then subsequently carried on in the home. It's said that the photo she tore up was the same one that had hung on the wall in her abusive mother's house. I hope she's finally at peace now, but she left us far, far too soon for our comfort. What a great soul she carried in that voice!
Wow. Powerful. Thanks so much for sharing. I'm Catholic but only for my culture and to be buried with my parents in the Catholic cemetery. I love the beauty of the rituals but the scandals I cannot stomach. I heard so much about the Magdalene laundries and the babies in the church owned yards. Just shameful. Ireland has national shame from so many places. The Famine, the displacement by England, and the church. Sad really. Such a beautiful place but so much trauma in the very soil. I followed the call from Irish women to close our purses in mass. No coins for the church! Sinead will be missed. She was a voice in the darkness. ❤
I was too ! Do you by chance recall the one good man (an actor?) who openly supported her during the aftermath when it would seem she’d , in seconds , become the antichrist ? Someone like Bruce Springsteen or ?
Godspeed Sinead O’Conner. She was a beautiful soul. She was astounded that the church she grew up in, whose culture she was immersed in, found out about the many evils that the Church had perpetrated. The 800 babies thrown in a cistern in Tuam, molested children. I do not believe she ever got over the loss of her son. At least she is at peace with him now.
You are just a crazy believer in this Christian NONSENSE. When will you figure it out? What have you ever done to protest against your church's abuses against young boys, Etc? NOTHING. You still pray with them. What is wrong with you? I pity you your long-time ignorance. This is only one site on YT. I pity you your ignorance.
She was a goddess, eons ahead of her time and much too pure for this world. The trauma she endured was unspeakable and her talent unlike the world had ever seen. She was a warrior like no other. Rest in Peace sweet angel. Now you are free.
@@jacquelineleitch7050 I agree. I remember the first time I heard it. I was a senior in HS. It changed absolutely everything and there could only ever be the singular Sinead O’Connor.
I may not have agreed with her politics but I still mourn the loss. Gone way too soon. "Nothing Compares to You" is still a iconic song, with an amazing video. RIP.
@@maggiemay5510 She attacked the Catholic church for sexually abusing children in Ireland and then covering it up. She ripped up the Pope's picture on SNL in protest and some people have hated her ever since. She was right BTW.
@@kimtopp5984 She was nominated for a grammy before she even recorded "Nothing...". Educate yourself at least if you are going to be mean about someone who just died.
This is heartbreaking. I always admired her tenacity and standing up for the victims of the Catholic church was bold back then - I remember watching it live and thinking damn, the stones on that woman! She will be missed.
She did a cover of 'Silent Night' that's as beautifully haunting as anything you'll ever hear. She was brave enough to call out the abuse of children when few others would. A good soul.💙
empaths become eroded for being such an advocate all the time...and feel isolated on an island. Strong people get tired of having to be strong which is a survivor trait and survival aid
She was abused as a child. Her mother was extremely abusive as well. When she was in a Catholic school, they had her way with her as well. It is possible that she inherited her mother's mental issues. Now she is at peace.
For those who have taken the time to listen to her expanded music catalogue, and followed her career closely - they understand how special she was. Ignore the lying media and listen to the music that she wrote. You’ll see how deep and wise she was.
Sinead was so underrated. Have any of you heard Troy?? The power of the vocals and her personality... she was so talented and raw. No one else was like her. We will always have her music.
I was fortunate to hear her perform Troy at the First Avenue in Minneapolis back in the eighties - right after the Lion and Cobra came out. She was relatively unknown here in the states at that time and it was just her and an acoustic guitar performing on stage…still my all time favorite song of hers!
Sinead was highly respected in the US among musicians of all genres and was a naturally quiet gentle articulate woman who sadly suffered from a mental illness . When she lost her son 18 months ago very few in this country thought she would last this long. God Bless her she is finally at peace.
It’s terribly sad for everyone who loved her, but she lived with dreadful mental anguish and now she is at peace. For that we should be glad. She was a great talent and her music lives on.
I loved this woman, who was way ahead of her time. I introduced her music to my teen daughter, who also embraced her. This Is A Love Song is my personal favorite
Her rendition of “Nothing Compares To You” ripped my heart out for decades after having a fiancé breakup with me back in 1988. It still gets to me to this day at 60. I hope Sinead has found peace.
@@janetbuxton4876 Thank you for that. Someone that identifies and understands. 35 years later and it still hurts. It’s still hard to listen to the song, even though she did such a fantastic job with it. Thanks
Same for me. Now 66. Nothing ever compared to my lost love. But Sinead was so beautiful and courageous - and above all devastatingly honest - having her in our world was a huge inspiration way beyond that amazing song. Sweet lady, thanks to her for the blessing she was to the rest of us.
@@inchafune Thank you for your comment too! I absolutely love the song, but it instantly transports me back to that horrible time of being “tossed away” with no explanation what-so-ever. I guess I’ll never get over it. You are correct, Sinead seemed to be a very sweet lady, but misunderstood I believe. What is sad is so many famous people coming out in support of her now that she has passed, but where were all of these people when she needed them while she was alive. A cruel world we live in. Thank you again,
Sinead was a tortured soul, I'm only shocked that she didn't die sooner, she was kept from seeing her kids, no-one knows what she suffered, she always was dismissed as being mad, I don't think she was mad, she has suffered so much abuse at the hands of those who should have been protected, a tortured soul who is now at peace. RIP Sinead☘️☘️☘️
Heartbreaking news. Sinéad O'Connor's voice was one of the most hauntingly beautiful ever. And she had more guts than most people ever. She cared more about expressing herself than getting rich. RIP😢❤
Here in Dublin, we are devastated - SInead was my own generation, I can remember those early days, she was the first to speak out, sing out, and express how pissed off we were, the fearful acceptance and silence around the abuse within the church and its effect on all of us, enough was enough - Sinead we love you, we understand your broken heart, rest in peace with your beautiful boy Shane, always in our prayers.
Much respect to Sinead for always speaking out despite the controversy it brought and her struggles with mental health. Her entire discography is amazing, and for that I will always be thankful. Rest in peace.
I'm a 43yr old Irish women I looked up to sinead 😢 during tuff times I play her music ...she changed a generation here in Ireland she'll be sadly missed and always remembered ❤ rip sinead
Huge loss😢😭 Sinead had an amazing talent as a singer. She went through life in great pain, she was passionate about justice which got her in trouble but she Was correct about her claim like the Abuses of the Catholic Church. She was a beautiful and yet a broken soul ; adults she trusted as a child shattered her spirit and she became a misunderstood controversial person. I love Sinead o”Connor. This is a true loss
Coming up on 10 years since my brother’s suicide. I remember when Robyn Williams died close to the first anniversary of my brothers death, and a steady stream of icons who have also died at their own hands. It never ceases to break my heart. I’ve struggled with my own mental health problems my entire life, and FINALLY got to a healthy place during the last 2 years. I just hope for anyone who is struggling, I feel your pain, I empathize, and I hope you continue to fight for your health. It can get better, and I know it is exhausting trying to find that healthy spot, but you can do it I promise you. Just keep fighting please. You matter in this world. Your life matters. Your struggles matter. Your love matters. ❤
RIP, listening to Sinéad O'Connor, what a beautiful voice and beautiful human. Life is short. Legends are forever. But now, just sadness. Thank you, Andrew, respect.
It’s so awful to hear the mean, nasty comments. Sinead suffered a lifetime of the effects of severe trauma and grief. Her religious conversions and viewpoints were obviously a means for her to try manage such pain and stand up for others who also suffer. I have a genetic condition that results in a lot of pain, but the pain of depression, heartbreak and grief are harder to cope with than the physical pain. You don’t need to have met her or to have known her, to have compassion.
Poor Sinead. I always loved her, even when she was at her most controversial. She will be hugely missed by so many of her fans, particularly here in Ireland. Nothing compares to you, Sinead ❤
Hey Andrew! I’m so, sorry to hear this. There is no black and white. The trolls might want to think about what growing up in Ireland was like. I always liked her and she was incredibly talented. I’ve always thought people are entitled to be themselves. There was a documentary about her made in the last few years, her mother suffered from mental illness and it covered many of her musical endeavors. Much of the world is aware of the problem with pedophiles and move the priest in the Catholic Church but they should learn about the decades long Magdalene Laundries in the church as well! Thank you for always being kind and respectful Andrew. RIP
She was a lost soul. She was a great songwriter in her own right, and did the best version of “Nothing Compares 2U.” A powerful voice and courageous woman. We’ll never have another like her.
Some of the most talented and intellectual people in the world are troubled souls. She was beautiful and should be remembered for the beautiful music she gave us. A rebel is never without a cause. RIP Sinead and blessings to the family.
In 1990, after walking into the Sam The Record Man store on Yonge Street in Toronto, I quite literally stopped in my tracks at what I was hearing. Turning back, I asked the clerk, "WHO is that singer?!" I bought Sinéad's album right then. Her cover of Prince's "Nothing Compares 2 U" is the song that I'd heard. It's heartbreaking, and she made it a hit. Just last night, honestly, I was blasting "The Last Day Of Our Acquaintance" through my headphones, & (loudly) singing along to it. Sinéad was more than a singer-songwriter. She was a courageous iconoclast, speaking out against the horrific abuses of the Catholic church, not to mention other evils such as racism. What other then-22-year old could've written these lyrics: 🎶Margaret Thatcher on TV Shocked by the deaths that took place in Beijing It seems strange that she should be offended The same orders are given by her...🎶 ? May you rest peacefully, Sinéad.
And the other words...' I love my boy, that's why I'm leaving. I don't want him to be aware that there's any such thing as grieving. "... can we just appreciate that she was a Mother, and tried so hard not to repeat what damaged her in her kid's lives? All this in spite of mental illness.
I still remember when I heard songs from the Lion and the Cobra the first time! Amazing voice and I instantly just loved her voice and the album. She was so brave and way ahead her time. Like when she started to talk about what the catholic priest’s did and all the hate she got and now years later we all know about all the abuse some priests did. I hope she now is in a happier place. Beatiful and brave Sinead. No one was like her.
The Lion and The Cobra changed my whole life and heart! What a true musical experience and awakening! Sinead was so full of talent! A beautiful brave sister💜
Never believed Sinead that her mother sexually and physically abused her, When her mother died in a car crash she pretended that she cried over the tragedy for 25 years why would she cry over s lady she so much maligned, her siblings denied she was ever abused
She has been a huge part of my adulthood. I have never let her go from that. Today her second album CD was at the top of my CDs. No digging. They were all just there as is my heart.
My deepest condolences to her family. She made a huge mark in this world ,she will never be forgotten and leaves this world too soon. Sineads pain and heartache is now gone.
RIP I always admired the strength in this lady and how she handled all the bad things that happened to her throughout her life as well as her talent and amazing singing voice, God bless her soul I hope she is happy and at peace wherever her energy is now 💖
So sad. Sinead was a national treasure. She was brave. She spoke for us when she confronted serious issues which existed and still exist in Ireland 🇮🇪. Rest in peace Sinead. My condolences to her family and her close friends. You will be sadly missed Sinead.❤❤❤
Thank you for talking about Sinead. I am a moderator for a surgical menopause support group. Surgical menopause is something that Sinead was going through as well. She had spoken about her Dr's refusing to give her hormone replacement therapy and the struggle she faced with her mental health as a result. With the loss of a child and the loss of her hormones I can't imagine the pain she's been living in. She has given me a new fire to spread the word on womens health and the gaslighting we receive in medicine.
The most amazing live singing performer I've ever seen in my life. An inspiration to me since I first heard Lion and the Cobra. She spoke out about CSA DECADES before it was part of the public conversation...
I used to wake up to my roommate playing her album full blast and I loved it. I can't think of any other person who could pull off a whole video of nothing but their face. I totally respected her for tearing up a picture of the pope, that was heroic in my eyes. My favorite song of her's is Stretched On Your Grave, never thought I'd be thinking of it like this.
She definitely was a free thinker and so outspoken against the bad stuff going on in the church bring light into the darkness, I hope she's at peace with her son, his passing broke her heart I pray she's finally at rest !!!
Imagine waking up every day with a sinking feeling...another day to get through . It gets exhausting. SHe struggled for years THEN lost her son on top of it. RIP Sinead. Thankyou for giving us your voice while you were here. A beautiful song by her. .Last day of our Aquaintance ❤❤
I most enjoyed her rendition of 'Mother' with Roger Waters of Pink Floyd. Brilliant live performance. She was an amazing woman way beyond her incredible musical talent. My daughter performed Nothing Compares as her hair was starting to grow back from alopecia and she looked a lot like Sinead then. I am sure she will be rocking and rolling from the other side helping to heal the wounds in this world and recreating it.
She was a beautiful soul who saw the world through a different lens to many, and her art was other worldly. May her journey to the summerlands be lit with light and love.
I haven't heard the song in ages, but its lyrics are so engrained in my mind I could probably scrape together most of it still, which speaks to the power of the song (and how much Prince is missed as well). Really sad! I hope she finds the happiness she was not granted in this life to wherever she has moved on to...
My sons father died by suicide. It is heart wrenching to those left behind. May you have peace now from this crazy world. You were a beautifully authentic artist. You touched me with your haunting rendition of Nothing Compares 2 U. No mother should ever have to lose a child. I lost two. I know your pain all to well. May GOD hold you in his loving arms. May she see the God she so yearned/pined for. I imagine her singing with angels & reuniting with her son. Thank you Sinead for sharing your voice with the world - an act of courage in itself. If we view people with compassion, we will make room for acceptance, healing & understanding. Be kind to each other.... Her acoustic version of Something Beautiful expresses her longing.
Beautiful voice & troubled soul. She strived for an inner peace & desperate to seek where she can do. She spent last few years in and out of hospital. She fought for life. And unfortunately the battle was too much. May she rip

You take her word for it,yet sinead herself broke up with 4 husbands and 4 lovers all relationships lasted on average a year, not an easy person to get on with.
@@laurielovett8849 I'm not surprised sh hasd all those relationships. Bipolar caused by an incredibly abusive mother will make it difficult for ANYONE to get along with her.
The shock is only that she lasted this long. Sinead survived an incredibly horrendous childhood, being sexually and physically abused by her mother on a daily basis. I don’t think a less strong woman would have survived this long. RIP Sinead, I hope you find peace at last.❤
She definitely lied about her mothers treatment of her,her brother also said their father never mistreated them.
Devastating. I loved her voice.
Yes poor soul.
Who`s perfect?
❤❤❤❤
I think sinead was a horrible person, criticised her family in fact didn't seem to be able to get on with anyone but blamed everyone else
@@laurielovett8849 That's your opinion and you entitled to it but whey come in here to be negative when so many love her and just want to mourn in peace?
RIP
💜 💜
#sineadoconnor
Amen to that!!!!!!!! #cultsurvivor
But yet she became a follower of a historical figure who married a child
@@aaronjohnson3463 her weakness was way less than the weakness of Society itself
This!!! The only way to describe her. She was Sinéad O'Connor. Nothing else to say.
Oh I loved her! She was a victim of child abuse as was I.
I loved what she said…
"So much of child abuse is about being voiceless, and it's a wonderfully healing thing to just make some sounds”
Rip Sinead. Thank you for your beautiful talent. Have peace 🕊️
I'm sorry you went through that. ❤
@@Sorrely1 Thank you 🙏
Thank you for sharing. I’m so grateful to her outspokenness.
She was so misunderstood and I'm grateful I grew up with her. She's so much more than a Prince track. Amazing albums and didn't give up her beliefs and back down. Very sad day
She even occasionally acted- check out her portrayal of Emily Bronte in the 1992 film staring Ralph Fiennes.
I feel desperately sad for her three remaining children. How ghastly to lose two close family members within a year. Regardless of how her life was ended, she was a very special person who did everything she could to remain true to herself, and to speak out for others who have been abused.
It is so great that they have each other and will never lose their mum.
Her soul is with us 👹 . As the deal was. Signed in blood. Payed in full. Collected
@@thedesolateone8260 Oh please.
I am so very sorry to hear this, please accept my condolences for the loss of your child.
So sorry . There is no pain like it.
😢😭😭
One of God's favourite angel's
Beloved Sinead having been born on December 8, 1966 made her a Master Number 33 Life Path in Numerology, THE most misunderstood of all the Life Paths, born to bless others. Her voice! Her mastery of self-expression! Unmatched. We are profoundly grateful and forever blessed by the legacy she gifted to this world. ✨💗💎🦋🩵
@@magickal02I thought she was 56? Your numbers are outta kilter?
Edit: I say this because I'm 56 & born in 68....I'm missing something....I'm outta kilter!!!😅
Sinead sang the theme song for this seasons Outlander. It is beautiful !
Totally agree. She was very misunderstood and a beautiful soul. I always admired her courage and watched an interview with Pierce Morgan not too long ago that was so raw and brave. I truly hoped that she had found a peaceful place in her life. So sad
We are shocked and heartbroken here in Ireland . Beautiful troubled soul. Rest in peace beautiful Sinead . We love you ❤️🙏🏻☘️
We love her in Australia also.
Misunderstood, traumatised and still accomplished so much . ❤️❤️
I am from the US I have loved her since the late 80s.
an irish spirit that universally connected. "mother" with PinkFloyd is forever sacred
@@Water_is_Sacred777 - It's a poignant, unforgettable, must-see, touching, and gripping movie.
I was too ! Do you by chance recall the one good man (an actor?) who openly supported her during the aftermath when it would seem she’d , in seconds , become the antichrist ? Someone like Bruce Springsteen or ?
Yes I agree with this completely, well said!
Yes , I wouldn’t think any parent would get over the loss of a child at any age.
She was a goddess, eons ahead of her time and much too pure for this world. The trauma she endured was unspeakable and her talent unlike the world had ever seen. She was a warrior like no other. Rest in Peace sweet angel. Now you are free.
That warrior cry has let so many women live. “Troy” revolutionized the world of song.
RIP.

Poor Sinead struggled for so long. She had a beautiful voice and her soul was in her eyes. So sad.
She experienced unbelievable trauma and fought really hard to stay. Rest now gentle spirit.
her son's loss was too hard to bear
So sad ! A strong woman who was a staunch advocate for abuse victims...she called out the corruption and paid the price
empaths become eroded for being such an advocate all the time...and feel isolated on an island. Strong people get tired of having to be strong which is a survivor trait and survival aid
let's face it, we'll remember her fine musical talent but, she was a sick non understandable person.
She was abused as a child. Her mother was extremely abusive as well. When she was in a Catholic school, they had her way with her as well. It is possible that she inherited her mother's mental issues. Now she is at peace.
@jerrylyons9279 She was not sick and no one is non understandable. That comment says more about you Jerry.
So sad. May she party hardie on the other side. My condolences to her family. People be kind on the remarks.
I loved her. Rest in Peace Sinead. No-one will compare, ever.
I agree agree agree. My heart is as heavy as when John Lennon was murdered. It is so hard.
For those who have taken the time to listen to her expanded music catalogue, and followed her career closely - they understand how special she was. Ignore the lying media and listen to the music that she wrote. You’ll see how deep and wise she was.
I just downloaded her book. It's eerie to hear her voice knowing she isn't in the physical anymore.
Sinead was so underrated. Have any of you heard Troy?? The power of the vocals and her personality... she was so talented and raw. No one else was like her. We will always have her music.
Troy was amazing. She was amazing.
Troy live at Pinetop is amazing
'In this heart' is my most favourite 💜👍
It’s terribly sad for everyone who loved her, but she lived with dreadful mental anguish and now she is at peace. For that we should be glad. She was a great talent and her music lives on.
I loved this woman, who was way ahead of her time. I introduced her music to my teen daughter, who also embraced her. This Is A Love Song is my personal favorite
So much pain.😔

Same for me. Now 66. Nothing ever compared to my lost love. But Sinead was so beautiful and courageous - and above all devastatingly honest - having her in our world was a huge inspiration way beyond that amazing song. Sweet lady, thanks to her for the blessing she was to the rest of us.

Thank you for your comment too!
Thank you again,
Y
Sinead was a tortured soul, I'm only shocked that she didn't die sooner, she was kept from seeing her kids, no-one knows what she suffered, she always was dismissed as being mad, I don't think she was mad, she has suffered so much abuse at the hands of those who should have been protected, a tortured soul who is now at peace. So sad. She was a bipolar as her son. She was NOT mad. Just badly diagnosed and treated...a tragedy. R.I.P. you beautiful soul. Amén.🙏
Heartbreaking news. Sinéad O'Connor's voice was one of the most hauntingly beautiful ever. And she had more guts than most people ever. She cared more about expressing herself than getting rich. RIP😢❤
I wasn't prepared for this one. Gutted. I was always cheering for her, no matter what she said or did. She lived through so much pain.
I think I was. After losing her son I wasn't surprised. Too much to bear for her.

Huge loss😢😭
Sinead had an amazing talent as a singer. She went through life in great pain, she was passionate about justice which got her in trouble but she Was correct about her claim like the
Abuses of the Catholic Church.

thank you! sorry just saw this!
Very, very well said. 😢❤

This woman was incredible and brave and yet so broken
What other then-22-year old could've written these lyrics: 🎶Margaret Thatcher on TV
Shocked by the deaths that took place in Beijing
It seems strange that she should be offended
The same orders are given by her...🎶 ? May you rest peacefully, Sinéad.
And the other words...' I love my boy, that's why I'm leaving. I don't want him to be aware that there's any such thing as grieving. "... can we just appreciate that she was a Mother, and tried so hard not to repeat what damaged her in her kid's lives? All this in spite of mental illness.
Well said. She was a warrior, yet so fragile too. Just love her. ❤❤

Never believed Sinead that her mother sexually and physically abused her, When her mother died in a car crash she pretended that she cried over the tragedy for 25 years why would she cry over s lady she so much maligned, her siblings denied she was ever abused
This is absolutely heartbreaking. She was a huge part of childhood.
She has been a huge part of my adulthood. I have never let her go from that. Today her second album CD was at the top of my CDs. No digging. They were all just there as is my heart.

Oh no! Such a tragedy. I was shocked when we lost Delores O'Riordan passed away near the start of the pandemic, and now Sinead. Both far too young, both far more talented than most Americans realized.
I was wondering when someone would mention that other great singer.
I loved her.
Her music. Her passion and bravery.
Will miss her.
