- As the genocide taking place in Palestine continues, a natural response from the Ummah is to feel angry and powerless.
In this khutbah recorded at the Ohio Recreation & Education Foundation last week, Ustadh Nouman shares some thoughts on this issue by focusing on the importance of emotional self control, and regaining power by taking heed of the internal and external changes that the Quran constantly urges us to make.
Ustadh emphasises that once we collectively implement this Quranic agenda within, and as an Ummah, we will then regain the power needed to create real change.

Please don't forget Sudan as well..why are we so selective in this Ummah? The genocide in darfur is happening for sooooo many years and you barely hear people speak up about this. Even within our own Ummah. I feel bad for the Sudanese brothers and sisters that they are being ignored most of the times. Please make dua for Palestine, Sudan, Kashmir, Rohingya, Uyghur, Congo, Rwanda, Syria, Afghanistan, Lebanon, Yemen and many more countries where people are oppressed, massacred, poor, and left without any help from the people in this world...May Allah grant them all Jannat Al Firdaws and make our Ummah strong again, where racism is eradicated within our Akhlaaq and we help all brothers and sisters as we want to be helped in times of need. May Allah make us amongst the ones who He is pleased with. Ameen..

I am Kashmiri, and for me there is no difference between a Palestinian child and a Sudanese child or a Rohingya child.
But I do understand very well what you are saying. Unfortunately Arabs Muslims only care about other Arabs, and they don't care about Kashmiris or Rohingya or anyone else. But Non-Arab Muslims are not like that. We are not racist. We love and care about all Muslims irrespective of their racial or ethnic backgrounds.

No one is being selective, the only reason anyone knows about any of these crises, is bc some of them are pushed out to social media and some arent, theres genocide in congo but if you ask your avg person they wont know about it, same goes for the sudanese crisis and so many more. Surah An-Nisa (Chapter 4), Ayah 75.
وَمَا لَكُمْ لَا تُقَاتِلُونَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَالْمُسْتَضْعَفِينَ مِنَ الرِّجَالِ وَالنِّسَاءِ وَالْوِلْدَانِ الَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا أَخْرِجْنَا مِنْ هَذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ الظَّالِمِ أَهْلُهَا وَاجْعَل لَّنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ وَلِيًّا وَاجْعَل لَّنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ نَصِيرًا
Translation: "And what is [the matter] with you that you do
not fight in the cause of Allah and [for] the oppressed among men, women, and children who say, 'Our Lord, take us out of this city of oppressive people and appoint for us from Yourself a protector and appoint for us from Yourself a helper?'"

Today we saw politically sauve, quite diplomatic Ustad Noman Ali Khan. He treaded with extreme care not to antagonise or offend anyone, hence sidestepped core issues without touching broader contours. I do not understand what stopped Muslim nations and rulers to do what South Africa did,and all of them are hand in glove with oppressors? And how does it alleviate suffering of our Palestinian brother and sisters . Truly disappointed with sugar coated pills of Ustad which does not address the situation at hand. Scholars like Imam hambal,and other stood up to rulers and called spade a spade.
Video Summary:
We are too many to think we are weak.
One has to have composure and control over feelings before we speak up.
Our success depends on sabar. As mentioned in surah Al Asr.
What does ALLAH want from us as ummah in this situation? In our minds we think we are powerless. The massacres of children, the shayateen are gonna do what they doing. Real frustration is why we are so powerless. Real problem is ourselves. Shetan and enemy of Islam doing what they suppose to do.
Kufar angered believers all the time in times of prophet pbuh.
Real question is what is pathway ummah suppose to take? It’s easy to say leaders are corrupt. When will ummah wake up.
We are not small population, we are 20% of population. In the Quran ALLAH has given us two responsibilities. One face inward and other face outward. “I have to die in state of Islam”, I need to be ALLAH conscious, this is inward. There are people who say we have no Taqwa, we have not right iman, if we had good iman we would have helped ummah. In next ayah of Al imran ALLAH says be united. Then call to something good as unified force. You are gonna take bigger steps, number one is iman, then unity, then dawah to community.
1. What is ALLAH saying about inward. ALLAH has given detailed description of Israelites, they are descendant of our father Ibrahim a.s. Israelites manipulated what ALLAH sent to them, they used what ALLAH revealed to generate power, wealth, they have classes of rabies and priests and their agenda is that you could be purified if you can go through priests or rabbis. They take haram and make it halal, do games that have nothing to do with shariah, openly violate laws of ALLAH. Then ALLAH says don’t become like them.I have to look at my family, community and culture and how much we are living by Quran, and by laws of ALLAH. Money matters are huge chunk of shariah. Easy litmus test is money matters. Maher, zakat, loans where do I stand in terms of these. I can look like I have Taqwa but my financial dealings have no Taqwa, this is a problem.
2. Next place to bring Taqwa is Hadood of ALLAH in family. We think hadood means punishments in Islam. Hadood means family law. Islam is inward and outwards. Study surah Hadeed till surah tahreem. You will find fighting with kufar, and about family issues. Internal and external goes hand to hand together. Are we living Taqwa in money and family matters.
It’s not like that ohh I’m dealing with family don’t tell me about ummah problem. Yaqoob. A.s had family issues, nooh a.s had family issue, Nabi pbuh faced family issues. They dealt with it by mandate of Quran. We have to become obsessed with Quran together. Racial, ethnic, fiqh, historic and national disagreements start to become so small afterwards. The ummah is obsessed with disagreement and divisions because Quran is side reference and we not discussing Quran as our ideology. And Quran should serve our thoughts rather than we use it to support our thoughts.
We have to study Quran surah deeply. It’s insane that as Muslims we are not connected to Quran. Quran teaches you how to think, what is world around you. It’s noor and mobeen(clear everything).
Once we bring Quran in our life, now we will be able to make dawah, and have conversation out in community.
Society has 3 audience according to Quran, one of these is general people who need advise that hit their hearts, second is people who love to control masses using their propaganda, they are very vocal, Insulting, aggressive. We have to be equipped to respond their arguments with hikmah. Third is smartest people who are elite according to society.
Now intellectuals are starting to question blind allegiance to democracy and capitalism. This is time to have intelligent conversation with intellectuals. Real change is change in thought process, and not a military change. Quran changed how people think, Quran targets all these 3 audience, this is why Islam became unbearable in Makkah.
Quran is a wake up call for humanity, and Gaza is wake up call for ummah. You don’t need billions to bring a change, this is what Quran teaches us, you need enough strong hearts and minds.
Wake up to the fact that we are created to worship Allah only by following Qur'an and Sunnah. Wake up to the reality of the Muslim world, nationalism is forbidden by Allah. We need to unite, Then Allah will be please with us. We would be the ummah Allah praises in the holy Qur'an. Question is how???.
Enjoin good forbid evil. Earn and spend on the way of Allah. And boycott the dollar.
We cannot liberate Baitul Maqdis until the Haramaym is liberated first. The henchmen of Dajjal must be kicked out of Hijaz!

Please reply Ustad. Did Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his companions ever tell someone not to join them in battle because they believed that person lacked sufficient Taqwa?
The prophet ﷺ taught his companions the deen first. His companions actually had the correct aqeedah first and foremost but people like you don't want to speak on this fact. You're pleased with gender mixed protests and loud speeches insulting Israeli representatives. This does nothing.

He started with Palestinian children, then he said umma is useless and lost, then he said the biggest enemies of umma are educated and smart people who we need to fight with and win.

The speaker said that he doesn’t want to talk about Gaza and he gave his reason/s. I believe his reason is weak when one looks into it. At best, it is a classical excuse.
To talk about the genocide in Gaza is useful for two good reasons.
One: It wakes up the Muslims who are asleep. They use excuses: we can’t do anything. We’ll make dua for Palestinians. And they continue their worldly life: drink coffee, eat, or clothes from companies that must be boycotted.
Two: It lets know the enemy that we are talking about the genocide in Palestine. And we won’t forgive them for generations to come.
If you don’t participate in demonstrations in your city/town,
if you don’t ask your local mosque to organise halal protests,
if you don’t ask the imam to teach lessons on Palestine,
if you don’t write to your local MP,
if you don’t boycott genocidal companies,
if you don’t educate your neighbours, coworkers,
if you don’t wear the Palestinian scarf,
if the Palestinian flag isn’t flying in your flat or house,
if you don’t wake up at night to pray for Palestinians, then you’re nor smart.

Must be mentioned here that in Bangladesh for eg. people follow their Hadith to the dot. without reading the Quran. Things have been made haram through Hadith that were never mentioned in the Quran. This has created so much divide that people cannot openly talk about their religion without fear of being judged. That is really sad.

Çünkü dünyanın yüzde 20’si kadar büyük bir nüfusa sahibiz ve bu gücü göstermek zor olamaz. Bu nedenle bir şeyler yapmalıyız.
Bu konuda doğru yönde bir düşünceye sahip olduğumu düşünüyorum ve bunu sizinle paylaşmak istiyorum. Kuran’da Allah bize iki temel sorumluluk verir: Birincisi içe dönük, diğeri ise dışa dönük. Shouldn't have mentioned gaza if you're not gonna ACTUALLY AND PROPERLY educate us on current global politics. I have massive respect for him, but despite that i never understand WHY he never talks and discussed it.
Sir sahil adeem is doing a million times better job than people like sir nouman and i have even MORE respect for him becoz He is ACTUALLY teaching us strategies and PRACTICAL solutions and whats OUR role in global politics etc instead of shying away like others. A muslim is a BORN politician. He does it SO fearlessly that it doubles my respect.

The steps suggested by Ustad Nouman ali khan are long term goals and process, even whole Ummah begins its journey today, but Nouman Ali Khan didn't suggested what our immediate and resourceful steps for Muslim countries rulers and Ummah to alleviate the suffering of Palestinian brother and sisters now. Ustad Noman Ali Khan just refused to address the big elephant in the room. Sad and dejected by this lecture.

Guys this is not a fight against Islam but against political entities. Russians and Ukrainians are both Christians but political entities fight for Land security of their nation..similarly Israel and Palestine are fighting for land and security and not religion.

For a powerful muslim community,
1- Have takwa, and the priority of takwa is financial honesty and having good family relationships. We need to have sabr to achieve it.
2-We have to be a unity through our obsession with Quran. Quran should be our purpose, and not the means of supporting our seperations. If we were close to Quran, Quran would bring us together more than a football team brings two fans together for sure.
3- We have to communicate with all three classes of society.

I am doing Dawah in street fairs in NY/NJ area.
Why the khateebs of Friday prayers in all corners of the world are unable to motivate their listeners to exert pressure on their governments to do something for our brothers and sisters in Palestine.
They are too cautious to offend their rulers, and do not have boldness to tell the truth .
I feel so blessed to feel great contentment in my heart. Allahu Akbar. I own nothing, but i have food, clothing and shelter. Allahu Akbar! The fact that i have freedom from indulging in that which could provoke the wrath of Allah (swt) is priceless to me. I don't want ANYTHING America has to offer and i am not an immigrant Muslim. I feel sorry for those who come to this place salivating over materialism and end up in trouble w riba. Truly, all that glitters is not gold. May Allah (swt) help the Muslims to get their priorities straight. Ameen. The Qur'an is my diamond. May Allah (swt) find me true to my word. Ameen.
The prophet (saw) said in the most mutawaatir Hadith, “ I leave behind two precious/ weighty things, the Quran and my Ahlul bayt. If you hold on to these two you will never ever go astray.” Unfortunately today Muslims are concerned more with the Quran but have neglected the ahlul bayt! This is the greatest tragedy of the ummah!

Ie.. when Galiath Suggests one on one combat rather then war.. Allah would say that is a sou d decision.. Versus.. ruling for tge Egyptian when ibrahim lied to them.. but ruling with The hebrews when they were enslaved ..
And making our choices based on that..
Ie: of your brother sold you out like Yusuf.. no matter favored or not a good parent would not side with the sell out.. simply because they are the baby.
Imagine a world where soldiers refused to Kill babies .. moses would never have been in the river.. war would not include children.
Imagine a world Where In every moment Allah is between you and the other being .. egypt/ Yacob/Galiath.. and because you know scipture.. you know Who Allah will side with in this moment.. and which way you are headed..
Do you look out for your boss.. like Yusuf.. even when They enslave you?
Do you sell out a coworker or lie because they are a christian?
Do You Excuse bad behavior of a mother.. simply because she is mom?
Do you walk away from a debt because its Egypt/America/India .. because they are not Muslim/ or Jordanian? Catholic/ jewish
Do you “hawk” up truth and admit when the illterate (like Muhammad) makes a good point.. or do you remain with Islam at your throat(Adams apple) not allowing it to pass into your heart by admitting Someone non-muslim Had insight.. that os unexplainable?
Didnt moses confront the Intelligent? Did Muhammad Speak to the scholars?
Do you dismiss a westerner.. simply because she wears Clothing thats not muslim Culture.. and not recognize Muhammad saying not to make Islam hard?
Imagine a world where right wins.. and truth drives us to face potential consequences.. while others Support you and say truth and right is more important then Anything..
Imagine the friendships based on morality.. and brotherhood…. Imagine Titles not mattering ..
People didnt become high priests because they were bad.. they rose because of knowledge. The problem became when Titles were handed down by friendship and look .. rather then righteousness and Truth.
Imagine a world where you cheer on your muslim brothers like a soccer Game… because they made the better Point in an argument…. Or The jew because They Took the time To invite you to dinner so you celebrated their culture with them learning their way like Muhammad learned their words… to say to them.
